I was blessed by reading this book! I am new to the "forbidden" books, as I was told the apocrypha was. I am curious as to why. This Book, Tobit, was truly a blessing to read and reflect on the goodness of God.
The book of Tobit tells the story of Tobit and his family, who are living as exiles from Israel after the Assyrian conquest. ... On his journey, the son Tobias meets Sarah, who is afflicted by a demon. Raphael intervenes and dispatches the demon, allowing Tobias and Sarah to marry.
Go into Media my son, for I surely believe those things which Jonas the prophet spake of Nineve, that it shall be overthrown and that for a time peace shall rather be in Media and that our brethren shall lie scattered in the earth from that good land: and Jerusalem shall be desolate, and the house of God in it shall be burned, and shall be desolate for a time But before he died he heard of the destruction of Nineve, which was taken by Nabuchodonosor and Assuerus: and before his death he rejoiced over Nineve.
This was truly a great bible story and I think god for the the book of Tobit and the book of gad and the book of Nathan and the book jasher which I think all of these book should be in the bible god word should be read by all men to live by because this is right and it was god who said we should be holy because he is holy thank you lord for truth
Having just finished Tobit, I am in sheer awe of her Grace and beauty; this book has been an inspiration to me. It has reminded me that alms are another key to to reaching the Blessings of Heaven. It also shows time and again that those who Trust in God are delivered.
