Eph. 2:10 - "....... UNTO good works which God hath before ordained that we should 'walk' in them." Jas. 2:14, 17, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26. 'Walk' implies - DOING something for the Lord; not just telling people "I am a Christian."
  • Joan Travick on Romans 2 - 7 years ago
Romans 2:1, Notice the the scripture says, man (flesh) who judges. We are not flesh but are spirit beings in flesh bodies. GOD is referring to the flesh because all flesh does the same things; but, we who are spirit in flesh bodies judge as we see
  • Eliiah on Romans 2 - 7 years ago
For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see and that they which see might be made blind. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on me should not abide in darkness. For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

    Works and faith goes together

James 1:22 but be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 2:18-- show me thy faith without thy works and I will show thee my faith by my works. Let's reach the lost while its still day. Romans 13:12.
  • Irene123 on Romans 2 - 8 years ago
To LU2677 - yes, the "hearers only" are the ones take Rom.10:13 and leave it at that. They "confess with their mouths" and go no farther. So why did Peter bother preaching Acts 2:38 after the people asked, "What shall we do?"
  • BSP on Romans 2 - 8 years ago
Verse 21 shows the importance of practicing what we preach in our personal lives.
  • Alan hardy on Romans 2 - 8 years ago
I was watching a tv evangelist on tv a few days ago, and he said 90 pct of Christians have never seen or taken notice of this verse, (and I thought to myself "not me"). then, when I checked the verse Rom 2 vs 16, lo and behold I had never seen that verse before in my life to the best of my knowledge, and yet I have read the whole book cover to cover 24 times and the book of Romans so much more.
  • Lu2677 on Romans 2 - 8 years ago
    Romans 2:7-8 "eternal life"=entering God's Kingdom. "Indignation and wrath"=eternal damnation=burning in hell.
Proverbs 9:18"But he knows not that the dead are there and that her guests are in the depths of hell:" Proverbs 15:11, 15:24, 27:20, Psalms 55:15, Matthew 23:33, Luke 10:15, Revelations 1:18, etc, etc. Looks like Gods' theology !!!! Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Amen
  • Lu2677 on Romans 2 - 8 years ago
James 1:22 "But be doers of the word, not hearers only, lest you deceive yourselves."
  • Basanta Nanda on Romans 2 - 8 years ago
For there is no respect of man with God.
  • Jacqulyn Thompson on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
I like the book of Romans
  • Norm on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
Bo is correct, praise God! Man's hell is the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience which will soon include world-wide angst, horrors and painful deaths never experienced before. Pray you escape this wrath!! Eternal hell fire is man-made theology tradition inspired by Satan. Wisdom of Solomon 11:26 But thou sparest all: for they are thine, O Lord, thou lover of souls. Luke 2:23 As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord Thank You LORD for Your Lovingkindness, for Your Mercy!
  • Bo on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
Nolan, God doesn't send people to hell. He created hell for satan and his angels (demons) Satan knows that God loves us and knows that God gave us free will. So he tempts us and tries to make us choose death over life. Hell over heaven. God gave Christ as a way out of hell...because 1 single sin is a choice to go to hell....until we become saved.
  • Peter on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
God doesn't become happy with our outside look. No one is righteous than the other. God wants the soul and cleanse it, read Read Romans 8:8
  • Jackie on Romans 2:11 - 9 years ago
This scripture to me, means, it doesn't matter who you are, whether you be rich or poor, President or farmer, doesn't matter to him. We are all equal to him as people. We will all answer for how we lived our lives. One person is same as next, I believe he only sees our souls. I dont think he looks on our outside, I believe all he sees is our souls, and our souls are obedient or unobedience. That's just what I believe.
  • Matthew G on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
Nolan, Verse 11- "For there is no respect of persons with God." The context is verses 9 10. The "respect of persons" being referred to is in relation to Jews and Gentiles. Paul is writing this letter for to Jews, and is essentially telling them, "God's judgement v9 , or God's glory v10 , will be handed out to Gentiles and Jews alike- with no favoritism one way or the other." He's saying, "Don't think you'll be treated with less judgement or more grace just because you're a Jew." See Rom 1:8- "all ungodliness" The bible is clear that all men are in need of a savior.
  • Collins Nwoke on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
It is a food that nurished the soul men of good will
  • MJ Roche on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
2:16 Interesting verse that many passover without stopping to think about "my " gospel. Paul 's writings are unique to the church which is the Body of Christ. It 's of the utmost importance that we thank God for this hidden Truth. A Truth seldom taught and seldom heard.
  • Harold royse on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
That the only way u can get to heaven is by pauls gospell acording to verse 16
  • Luke myer on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
I believe that the last verse concludes the chapter we as men have to humble our selves and give God the glory and honor he is writing to the Romans who seeked power and persecuted the Jews he is giving them a humbling message to change there judgement from there own and look through the eyes of the lord Jesus christ
  • Ian on Romans 2:10 - 9 years ago
From my study of this verse i gather that glory and honour to everyone who seek to do "good works ", but all throughout the scriptures it is evident that glory and honour could be ours through our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • RNM 2-27 ROM on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
ROM 2-27...The physical circumcision has no purpose today, only the spiritual circumcision of the Heart is meaningful. AMEN!
  • Mike on Romans 2:25 - 9 years ago
In this and all references to circumcision in the New Testament St. Paul seems to mean that if a man has ever sinned--and we 're all told by ministers and priests and rabbis?! that each of us has "in Adam 's Fall, we sinned all " . Therefore, a circumcised man may as well not be circumcised in the first place. He has had broken his covenant with God. Whether or not one appears circumcised physically, how one thinks is what counts. Romans 2:25 and Galatians 5:2-3 in particular reiterate this. Thus circumcision is a medical operation that 's often a superfluous waste of time.
  • RNM 2-9 ROM on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
ROM 2-9...J.G 's, just want to make a correction in something you said in a comment posted 2 4 15, going off Acts 20:7...you said they had communion with unleavened bread, if you put the word bread into the Greek Lexicon it will always come up azumos or unleavened bread, but that 's not the case in this particular scripture it says they come together to "break bread " now if you look this up using the same Greek Lexicon you see klao 2806 something entirely different, they basically just came together to EAT dinner and listen to Paul preach, NOTHING signifying a holiness about the day, a day of rest, a memorial, a Sabbath, the fact is you are a follower of pagan rome, following after the commandments of man, and not the Commandments of GOD, you think you are saved and are filled with the Holy Spirit but you are wrong again, GOD 's Spirit will not dwell in a vessel of disobedience, by rejecting GOD 's 7th day Sabbath you are rejecting GOD Himself, just like the Israelites did in the wilderness, and they perished in their unbelief. AMEN!!
  • SisterLinda on Romans 2:11 - 9 years ago
I believe God, who was, is, and is to come, who was dead, but yet alive, our almighty God our right now God, who lives, breathes, moves, inside all nations of people, no matter what condition their mind is in He, God has no respector persons. He love,an has mercy on the just, and the unjust amen. I believe in our living God,Jesus Christ our Saviour, amen!
  • RNM 2-5 on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
ROM 2-5...That 's fine, you have chosen your path, it is flawed, and devoid of any truth, I am not trying to convert you, remember you were first to remark on my comment about the Sabbath, intruding into my space! GOD will judge the world, not me, so if you desire to twist God 's word, and follow after the LIE! the roman catholic church has promulgated for centuries, that 's your business. But as far as Africa is concerned their equally those that journey distances to observe the 7th day also, those obedient to the Commandments of GOD PRAISE OF GOD OF HEAVEN AND TRUTH AND PRAISE HIS HOLY SON AMEN!!
  • Joni G on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
Christians everywhere worship Jesus Christ on Sunday, Savior, King, and friend who sits at the right if God the Father. Christians don 't worship the day of Sunday but it seems like you are making Saturday an idol, RNM. The Sabbath was for the Jews, alone. We were made to glorify God not a day. We do need to set aside that day for primarily worship. These days in the world, you see many businesses open on Sunday. Why? For money. Where is their faith? In Mark 2:27, Jesus says the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. You are making the sabbath a god. That is wrong. It is cultish. Acts 20:7,When the disciples worshipped on the first day of the week, they had communion with unleavened bread, from the greek word azumos. Not apros, necessary food as you suggest.
  • Joni G on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
RNM, Yes, in Acts Paul went into the synagogue on the Sabbath to preach the Gospel. The Lord 's Day is Sunday. And yes, the Bible talks about Christians gathering on the Lord 's Day for worship and communion. They did it every Sunday. There are a lot of people that are not enchanted but are devoted to Christ. Some believers in Africa walk miles and miles to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus without complaint to meet with other believers on Sunday. God smiles and blesses them. Yes, we all have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling but we also are commanded to rejoice evermore and pray without ceasing! Praise God!
