Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God, Paul was not of shame of it. All we have to do is believe it.
We need to look to God for our salvation. Abraham took God at his Word when He said take your son and sacrifice him and it was counted for righteousness to Abraham. Jesus told us to go and spread the gospel and I have given you the power. In Daniel there was four in the fire not three. Do we not know who we are in Jesus Christ. Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit to be in us and how can we doubt.
Adding to disciples comment "neglecting to judge self"; To examine/judge ourselves daily using God's standard, shows prudence; the practice of good judgment and the ability to self-discipline. And, watchful not to live in hypocrisy. Aren't we suppose to remove the log in our own eye, before we try to remove the log in our brother's eye.
To the question of whether we are all created equal; we have to consider, in what sense? In that we all have a spirit, soul and body? Yes. in that we all are made in the image of God? yes. In that we are indeed ALL created? Yes. In that we all have a moral capacity to choose good or evil, to hear the word of truth or to not hear? Yes. "For who makes you to differ from another?"
Acts 17:26 "hath made of one blood all nations" Psalm 33:15 "He fashions their hearts alike; he considers all their works." Matthew 23:8 "But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren." Rev. 5:4 "And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon." Acts 14:15 "We also are men of like passions with you,"
"And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?" Knowing the Word and being able to quote the Word, and actually being one in whom the Word lives and breathes, can be two different things, when someone thinks that there condemnation of others is justified "because it's Scriptural," but neglecting to judge self!
Romans 2:21-22 Reminds me of the old phrase "Practice what you preach". Don't be a hypocrite and tell some one to stop smoking and continue in your own addictions which demonstrates lack of self control.
He clearly states in the bible he doesnt look on outward appearance but at our heart. Hes clearly looking at our motives. If someone is going through troubles. Accept youre going through troubles, whatever they may be. Ask Him to help you. Don't give up on Him. He says all men are created equal.
Praise GOD brethlens beloved.. Apostle Paul in Romans 2:11 i quote "God Has no respect with men" in other translation is that GOD IS A JUST GOD..HE DOES NOT SHOW FAVORISM NEITHER WILL HE SHOW ANY FAVOURISM WHEN HE COME TO JUDGE THE WORLD..WHEN HE COMES HE MEANS BUSINESS... BIBLE IS CRYSTAL CLEAR LETS NOT JUDGE OTHERS,WE AINT JUDGES GOD IS. PAUL PREACHES ON THAT GODS GOODNESS LEAD US TO REPENTANCE.
Paul is speaking against hypocrisy in those to whom much is given, but don't do; and not if the Gentiles should follow the Law! The point that the Apostle is making; is about accountability to God, and a good conscience, according to the light that's been given. For the one who does not have the Law, but does by nature, (ie; in a good conscience) the things in the Law, is better than a hypocrite!
Duke,Did you read Romans 2:1-13?Y,your confusion caused you to err.V.14 does not say they are not"required",it says they do not"have" the law,Gentiles did not have the law that the Jews had. They were able to do things according to the "law by nature" because of what v.15 says"shew the law that is written in their hearts, (by God) and their conscience bearing witness"repent of error against Paul.
Irene 123, I was just inquiring which verse; Romans 2:29. I did not perceive your post as contentious. I believe what Paul writes, is God's word. All scripture is given by inspiration from God.
Paul is for me is confusing with saying that gentiles don't require the law but will do by nature what is righteous. Bunk! It just doesn't happen. The law is always in effect. It was given by God almighty and that's it. All are subject to God's mercy and God's rath. Paul is a hypocrite after his persecutions. Yes, I realized he was converted by his anger and hypocrisy come thru in this chpt
LU2677 - I'm so sorry my message of 'correction' was so 'abrupt'; I didn't intend it that way at all; it was just something I noticed. I like your testimonies.
LU2677 - " ... Jews in our hearts ..." - Rom. 2:29. I know Paul wrote this, but it was God's Word. I a not contending with you about this; just stating a Biblical fact.
Irene 123 your comment about Jews and Gentiles is confusing. Jews by nature, Gentiles by nature, salvation is for the Jew first then for the Gentile. The Jews rejected him so he turned to the Gentiles. All that are saved are of one Body and one Spirit. What is the comment that" to God we are all Jews in our hearts?" Is this specific to something God has said?
Verse 29: Circumcision of The Heart,Happens when You are Baptized with The Holy Ghost. Which happens when The Father Calls John 6:44 and You ask forgiveness. You are Washed byThe Blood of The Lamb:Revelation1:5 Made New 2Corinthians 5:17. Only by The Blood of The Cross is there Salvation! Christ Done it All. Nothing else to do. He Took My All Sins. In that Day,Lord Lord,I done this and that.Depart!
V. 29 - We, whether blood Jews or Gentiles (Greeks, the Gentiles were called Greeks for awhile); when we obey Acts 2:38 (" ... what must we do"?) - we are all Jews in our hearts in God's eyes. A 'gentile' in the N.T., as in the O.T. - is a soul that needs Jesus' salvation.
This was so awesome, I received every word spoken of God command and promise, I am a Christian believer, I love worshipping Christ, I love praising him I adore him in spirit and truth. He is my God and saviour, o my just typing this message I feel the anointing all over me ,, this was a blessing to me. And I enjoy study from Matthew Henry commentary bible. , God blesses you all. Amen
Politics and the Bible religion has anyone ever noticed - the world hasn't changed one iota for the better for all our arguing, discussing, about it nor has the Bible. The world stays the same confusing the Word of God hasn't been 'listening' either. But it's not - confusing.
"I believe this and I believe that and I don't believe this nor that" Jesus said to satan - IT IS WRITTEN ..... " Saying "I" is what satan did concerning God - Isa. 14:13-14 FIVE times satan said, I WILL. "For thou hast said in thine heart ..... "
