John, The 23rd Psalm is probably one of the most known and remembered of all psalms, and truly one of my favorites, looking at your comment, I thought of the last verse; surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever., in "goodness-mercy" or"grace-forgiveness" in Christ the shepherd; we have righteousness and eternal life. Amen
psalm 23 provides me with the a sense of well being and an appreciation for things I had taken for granted. My loving wife, the strength of my father. Though I fear, I fear not because God is with me. I repent the sins of my life and ask to be forgiven so that perhaps I too may live in the fertile pastures of heaven.
Martha, Where and who in the Bible says God dances over the elect while they sleep?
Dig deep in the scripture and you will learn what God is doing as he sits on his heavenly throne.
Psalms is a book of songs and prayers. The verses you can actually sing them. This book helps me in so many different ways it held me to meditate on God, it gives me strength and encouragement. It's a book when you pray God hears you in your most trouble times.
For sure i like reading Psalms 23;1-6 it always makes my day smooth it talks of how God is my defender and near to me all the time and a song is formed from that chapter i like that song, knowing that LORD is my shepherd.
the author emphasized 3 essential points from the hymn of psalm23
1) the psalmist brought our personal relationship with Almighty God to the highest level.
2) the greatness of God's creation was once again presented by the psalmist and manifested
before us.
3) the psalmist reminded and motivated the Christan's journey on earth.
Jesus Christ is my Shepherd if he looses one sheep he will go find it. His mercies endure for ever. Even whern we walk through the valley he s there and he never leaves us, amen Thank you Father!
What I now understand is that God can't prepare a table if there are no enemies,yo enemies are gonna be yo guests when God show's His ability on preparing table.

I see al rand victory that has no trace in this psalm 23. God said I will prepare a table for you in the presence of Your enemies. This shows how secured we are in the hands of the lord.
This scripture we had to learn and recite for my mother and Im so graceful to her for that and I it has brought me comfort this morning because life is bring some many problems and pain the lthis week so I need to reflect on the words the LORD is my (our) shephard.

This chapter is rich with promise. The comfort it brings in all situations is as new today as the words were to David the day he penned them. I so desire to live each day in obedience so to lead other to Gods green pastures and still waters. Then dwell in our Father's house together forever.
I'm from Canada. When I went to school in the 1950's, we had to memorize Psalm 23 and along with the Lord's Prayer - they were both recited every day before class started. Life was not kind to me as a young person and when I finally cried out to God at age 38, He spoke to me and gave me Psalm 23 as my refuge. I still recite it and it gives me great comfort knowing my Father is always with me<><
For me, Psalms 23 reminds me that when the enemy attacks through circumstances and situations of life, When we trust in The LORD by believing in his Word and taking the Lord at his word, we can rest confidently, patiently and at peace...
