In Bible times, when something is done in the name of someone it is meant that the action is done on the authority of the person named. So, to baptize in John's name, it is on the authority John the Baptist was given as the forerunner and prophet prophesied to appear to announce the coming of the Messiah. If one is baptized in the name of Jesus, it is done by the authority of Jesus.
When Jesus said to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, then He was saying that the action is done by the authority of the Godhead. Also, in this baptismal instruction, Jesus was teaching that in baptism, all of God attests to the action and validates it. He also revealed that the Godhead is tri-fold.
To my understanding, one can be baptized in the name of the Father, son, and Holy Spirt, or simply in the name of Jesus, or Jesus Christ, or Lord Jesus, or the Lord, as Acts shows that the apostles spoke of all these names being used in baptism. WE do not really know the exact words the apostles used each time they baptized. Yet, when they speak of being baptized, the name mentioned is to indicate by whose authority they are baptizing the new believer.
In Bible it says we must be baptized in Jesus name and filled of the Holy Ghost to see the Kingdom of God. Another place says be baptized in the name of the father, son and Holy Spirit.

This Psalm reassures me that no matter the situation, God's mercy and love are still evident and available. But that could be interpreted a number of ways. Life, it seems, has become upside down. What once was evil and perverted has become desirable and wholesome. There is a great evil among us. The most comforting thing in life is to know that YAHWEH loves each of us in absolute perfection. He knows every facet of our being, the good and the bad. Until He returns, His free offer of salvation is available to us. He is also almighty and sovereign and He will have the final say of the outcome of all worldly events, all of them. He can weave the entangled mess that we make of out lives into a fine fabric of beauty, functionality and durability. He is still here, with us. The offer of salvation is still open to all people. It also comforts me to know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that YAHWEH is in full control of absolutely everything that happens on earth for all eternity and absolutely nothing can ever take Him by surprise. He is complete. He Is all powerful. And no matter how bad and hopeless a situation may seem here and now, The earthly realm of time and space will pass and we will be able to look back, in great relief and joy and know that the evil is gone forever. Though the sorrow may last through the night, His joy comes in the morning; and what a wonderful morning it will be. All of the lies, greed, pain, murder, deceit, perversion, corruption, all of it forever destroyed and even forgotten. All creation will be as God intended it to be from the beginning and that could only be accomplished by His absolute display of love for us by sending His only begotten Son Yehoshua to pay the price we owed and could never possibly have paid which is eternal death. I must focus on the sacrificial Love of God each day and remember what He sacrificed for me. And to somehow fathom His love for me. Once accepted with the faith of a child, all will come into focus.
Spread the gospel to the entire world love your neighbors we are under god were separated for a time to find peace with each other we aren't passing the test good and knowledge has turned backwards but can we change god's plans when we change his word Let's repent for it maybe that time is at hand that will be good for some but bad for others speak of the lord or savior and listen even when you don't hear god does this sight says 1563 words left to speak but I could sum it up. In three father son and spirit ?
Shalom, this Psalm give me more reason to praise Yahweh. "His merciful kindness and truth endures forever." This shows that his salvation is for all people from different walks of life, not for the Jews only but for the Gentiles too.
Praise the Lord. When we praise the Lord there is this renewed strength and power that fills the heart and blesses the soul. Bless the name of the Lord.
Yes, I agree. I feel so blessed to see the ways the Lord has been faithful to me throughout the trials of my life. I ve seen Him working through others it has bolstered my faith in God s love and power. Praise God! If I had not had these problems, I would never have seen the wonders of God!
Praise be to God indeed; questioning about the whole Jesus thing.....no mention of that one till later. Good that some understand; shame to those who gloss over what they are unwilling to accept by putting that name to everything when it becomes inconvenient. God was, is, and will always be.
Praise God every minute he is merciful loving and gentle saveher and I love h my master and friend I can talk to him and tell him everything Lord thank you for your son Jesus Christ.
Jesus Love Us So Much!! He IS So loving and So kind and So Sweet! I Love Jesus and I will forever Give Him the Praises and the Glory and Blessed His Name Forever!!!
Yes indeed if not his loving mercy we would have perish long time ago. This is the reason why am always praising him. We should not let this gesture by pass us so as to avoid hell.
I would like to talk about his merciful kindness (man when God loves us despite our faults and still show us love and kindness) We are blessed beyond measures. Glory
