But I like Grae's interpetation a lot, as well, " I will manifest myself in whom I will manifest myself or , I will b who I will b or , I will reveal myself in whom I will reveal myself "

Dear Adam I searched that in the Septuagint Text (not the Masoretic), where instead of YAHWEH (I AM WHO I AM) the ancient translators translated this name from Hebrew to Greek as "THE EXISTING" [God]. (So GiGi is right in her post)

The Septuagint Text was a translation of the OT done during the 3rd centuary BC for the Jews that inhabited the Greek influenced world at that time, and spoke the Greek language not Hebrew. This translation was done during a time that Jews still knew exactly what YAHWEH meant.

So when Jesus said to Jews "before Abraham I am", He most possibly meant "before Abraham I exist". Not existed but exist, before-now-and for ever.

    Hello Francesco,

I will speak to your first question of what does I AM THAT I AM mean?

I have read that this name means "The eternal self-existing one" which means that God is the source of His own existence and His existence is eternal, without beginning nor ending.
  • Grae - In Reply on Psalms 1 - 2 years ago
I believe it means : I will manifest myself in whom I will manifest myself or , I will b who I will b or , I will reveal myself in whom I will reveal myself . An elderly brother taught me that many years ago . It of course points forward in time to Jesus who is Emanuel which means God with us . God is a spirit but Jesus says if u have seen me u have seen my Father , I don't believe that Jesus is referring to his physical body but is referring to God's Spirit which Jesus received without measure and which without , he would not have been able to do the works that he did or say the things that he did with such authority and power . God's power in him .

    Hi Francesco,

You asked some interesting questions and made some interesting suppositions.

I haven't researched this thoroughly but my current understanding of God saying "I AM" is a proclamation of who He is, including His greatness, glory, power, divinity. The English language is probably insufficient to properly convey just how awesome He is. Jesus also said "I am" in the New Testament, and people ironically accused Him of blasphemy.

I'm not quite following your next statements about you thinking you're a god? Do you believe this is related to the "I am" statements? Do you believe 1 Corinthians 8:6 where it says there is only one God and Lord? If there's only one, then I would think that would automatically invalidate anyone claiming there are more gods and make that an untrue statement, would it not?

Do you consider yourself a follower of Christ? There's a great link on becoming a Christian at the bottom of the page with many helpful verses.

Nothing in the Bible contradicts itself. People find "apparent" inconsistencies and are often quick to make these claims, but when someone actually researches deeper one usually realizes the truth and that it's all consistent. If you have a specific example of how you drew your conclusion that could help with a dialog.

Sadly, some who post here occasionally have unpure motives when posting sometimes and may only be trolling or have other objectives, but I trust that you are genuinely asking with an open mind, so this is my genuine response in attempt to help you. God bless.

    Hello,

What's the real meaning when GOD said to Moses I Am That I Am, And I am have sent to you?

Does this mean that trough the I Am we are all Gods and creators, or that GOD is a being and so HE/SHE impregnate everything and so everything is HIM/HER?

Are we so co creator of the universe? Do Christians really need the Old Testament, even though in many parts it contradicts the words O Jesus Christ?

    Thank you.

GOD's laws given to Moses start in Exodus 20, continue through Exodus 23, also Deuteronomy 6, Deuteronomy 12, through 29,

Notice the curse if they didn't obey.

    Hopefully these are helpful

Hello Shadrach. We can't send links via this Comment room, but I could suggest you go into Biblehub dot com & you will find a large number of Bible versions given. If you click on AMP, you will find it. Also, you might know that the Amplified Version can be useful for easier reading, but it remains as a translation based on a person's understanding of the Bible and not always faithful to the original texts. So please take care when reading from it.

  • How the Holy Spirit Communicates With Us - In Reply on Psalms 1 - 2 years ago
    1 Corinthians 12:1-11, thru chapter 15

The gifts are given as the Holy Spirit wills it. But we are told elsewhere to desire the best gifts.

Read in the NT Bible, about the gifts.

Word search in this website search box: discern

I noticed that on YouTube Charles Stanley has sermons of

    Spiritual Discernment

    Walking in the Holy Spirit

    (I highly recommend his teachings)

That was the first gift the Holy Spirit gave me.

He teaches you to discern if you are dealing with a human, evil spirit, or the Holy Spirit or angels

If we submit ourselves, the Holy Spirit will guide you in all things as you fill yourself up on Bible scriptures. Many times it is through scripture when He chooses to speak to your born again spirit. We view things through a glass darkly. 1 Corinthians 13:12

With the Holy Spirits gifts, we can "see the mirror" better.

He's our Teacher, Helper, Comforter and much more. It is our hunger and thirst for the truths in Gods Word that causes the gifts to operate. In my experience, He very much enjoys praise and worship of Jesus. Sometimes I sit in my "closet" under the clothes_just listening intently, or I sing. I was singing I WALK THE LINE by Johnny Cash and the Holy Spirit sang too! I never knew it was a spiritual song. He said, you walk the line, because you're Mine. I walk the line every day now. I know why Jesus is protective of the Holy Spirit__as in Don't grieve, quench or blaspheme Holy Spirit.

Our relationship with the Holy Spirit should be sweeter and tighter as time goes by. He will give you the gifts as you educate yourself on what each one is, and what they are for. One: some gifts operate for other people, Through you. It requires obedience and availability.

If you hear a voice that disturbs you, makes you fear; that was the devil. Send him into outer darkness in Jesus Name.

Keep coming back here. You'll love the ease of the Search Engine to look up things.

If I remain focused on the laws of God and leave His will and judgment up to Him, I will learn who is righteous by observing the failures of the wicked. My reward is my being surrounded by Gods chosen and obtaining wisdom and knowledge.

    Hello Diana, Welcome!

It sounds to me that you are a new Christian. Is that right? If you want to grow closer to Jesus, I suggest that you begin reading the gospels books in the New Testament-Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These books tell us about the life and words of Jesus when He lived on earth. He is our Savior and our God. We get to know Him in the writings of the Bible.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have. We here try to help those who have questions. This is a good place to get answers.

    Hi Richard.

HE'S GOING TO WRITE HIS LAWS ON THEIR HEARTS.

Jeremiah 31:31. As it reads God is going to make a new covenant with the house of Israel.

Jeremiah 31:32 The Lord says this new covenant won't be like the old covenant that he gave their fathers, ( On Mount Sinai by Moses. )

Note: "A Mount that could not be touched"

Jeremiah 31:33-34. Tell us what the New covenant shall be. And how it will function!!

    "I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;

" Not on tables of Stone "

You see an example of this in

    2 Corinthians 3:3.

This new covenant is NOT where they were bond to a law in which they could not keep because of the weakness of the flesh.

    See Romans 8:3-4.

That Covenant and tabernacle was a shadow of the (TRUE) tabernacle.

( Hebrews 8:2. A minister of the sanctuary, and of the TRUE tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.)

    See Hebrews 8:1-13.

    See Hebrews 9:1-28.

    See Hebrews 10:8-17.

THE ENERGY BEHIND THE DESIRE TO KEEPING THE LAW BEHIND THIS COVENANT WASN'T COMMANDMENT,

This covenant is set in motion and Moved by the Holyspirit. This is an inward action not an outward one.

This New Covenant is what the Old covenant/Law pointed to.

Note with both Covenants in view.

Galatians 4:23-28. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

    God bless.

Hiya Richard lemme give ya my view on this New Covenant which is the living word of God sown in our hearts and minds

that is gonna initiate a birth of Christ in US, Thats y he always refers to himself as the son of man, Its a new heart and a new spirit that is gona be born in us which is the H.G. a baby Christ , we refer to him as a baby simply b/c he has to be born in Us via the seed of Christ , As Peter said being bornagain of an incorruptible seed etc.

When He is born in us we get a new mind like the mind of Christ, But Satan puts a Tare in us then we are involved in a war fare . But 1 is gona be taken and 1 is gona be left, We are like 2 ppl , The wheat and the tares make us like 2 ppl . We answer to the 2 men in 1 bed but we are really 1 person. But if we don't birth the Child we cannot enter the kingdom as our lord said unless ya receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child you will in no wise enter there in. The Child is the H.G. that Child of PROMISE . When Jeremiah saw that New Covenant you speak of he also saw ALL ALL MEN IN TRAVAIL AND BIRTH PAINS Jeremiah 30 : 6 . That new covenant is a birthing covenant via the words of our lord ( his seeds ) Thats y the woman in Rev. 12 : 5 is giving birth, Christ has to be multiplied as the stars of heaven thus the Children of the Kingdom, the babes and sucklings his offspring an ISRAEL OF GOD Us sinners are gonna birth these Children in our hearts and minds . Whosoever receiveth one such child in MY NAME receiveth ME. The Child is the H.G.

Jeremiah 31:31Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

    Explain what God covenant means the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;

Psalm 1 begins with this phrase: "Blessed is is the man..." "Man" is the Hebrew word ish, which normally means a man as a male distinct from a woman. Some modern translations appeal to "context" to claim that in Psalm 1:1 means a person, or anyone, or some such generic term. But aren't there are Hebrew words which would convey that more general meaning? The Holy Spirit inspired a singular, gender-specific word here, and I honestly don't understand how any human being can dare to amend or correct what God says. Similarly, in Psalm 1:1 some Bible versions make ish into a gender neutral plural word, even though -as Adam Clarke's commentary states- the Hebrew is emphatic that the sense here is "THAT man", that individual who does not follow the ungodly multitude. How can anyone obscure or deny this God-inspired emphasis and not tremble? Thank youfor considering my thoughts.
