it is almost 4:am in the morning. I can't sleep so I decided to get into God's word. The first verse of this Psam tells me not to be scornful and to stay away from any group or persons who are scornful. Praise God for His word! It is a comfort in the middle of the night when you can"t sleep.

Heidi, in order to better understand life, its' meaning, where we came from and where are we headed; I would greatly suggest for you to read the book of Genesis and then the book of John. Afterwords, read again the book of Genesis again followed by the book of John.

    Dear Heidi.
God bless for taking the decision to follow christ. You cannot worship alone all the time, ps 1:1 there is an unrighteous congregation but the are also righteous congregations. The Spirit of God will lead you in giving to the LORD. Pls do not forsake the assembley of believers. It is a requirement.
  • Barbara S. on Psalms 1 - 7 years ago
    Heidi,

I thought the same way you did until one day my eyes my were opened. I would rather be in church doing what God has commanded of me than sitting at home not being a disciple. I started by listening to the bible with me earphones on while I was relaxing. I found at first I fell asleep then all of a sudden it was like I craved to hear more. I listen to the Bible being narrated a lot now.

Hello Heidi; First, The Lord Bless You! I think everyone's experience is unique, but essentially all the same according to the Word of God. My experience was a conscious and deliberate action taken, of repentance and determination to turn my life around to follow Jesus in the Bible! I renounced all past evil relationships; and started a regimented Reading Plan, and began writing what I learned.
  • Heidi Henderson on Psalms 1 - 7 years ago
I want to start having a better relationship with the Lord and want to study the word but don't know where to start. I do not go to church because I feel all they want is my money that is all I hear about so I stopped going years ago. where do I start and what do I download to read and study and ask questions when I don't understand something.

I need help today because he is the truth and the way. I have been going through so many challenges and i want the power of the holyghost to help me stand. By reading Psalms the prayers are most of my life experiences. It makes it easy to reconnect to God, by asking him for HIM and HIS Son Jesus and The Holy Spirit.
  • Barbara on Psalms 1 - 7 years ago
I love this Psalm. I read or recite it over me and my family daily. Asking God to help me fulfill it in my daily walk with Him.
  • Mild Bill on Psalms 1 - 7 years ago
The "way" is lifestyle. Walking is ones purpose or plans, standing is to occupy and sitting is to take rest or comfort. To delight is to know, desire and enjoy. The chaff has no purpose but to be wind driven willy-nilly, Jesus our righteousness allows us to stand in judgement and believers rest in the company of the congregation of other believers. God always knows where we are.
