I live by this chapter everyday. We as Christians make living the Christian life so hard. Simply trust in God and he will direct your paths. Phil. 4 13
Loretta, I think verse three is clear, it says the first fruit of all thine increase ,which I would say refers to the increased amount only. But if you would feel happier by giving something more, God will really appreciate it. Bless your generous heart .
To Ferdy O 's remark of 10 27 2014 on Proverb Chapter 3 It 's a matter of TRUST as it says. Have in mind that God 's Word is the Absolute Truth. Old and New Testament written under the guidance of the Holy Ghost. His WORD is YES and AMEN!. In Isaiah Ch. 55 says " For my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my ways, for as the Heavens are higher that earth so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts " Many times in our lives we do things without even considering to ask the Lord if He agrees or not with our plan. Then when we get a negative result we wonder why. Specially when we are going through a difficult period of our life, we have to bring the problem in front of God with TRUST and wait for guidance. That 's when we have to LEAN on Him with absolute FAITH AND TRUST, and not lean on our plans or understanding. When you give your problem with all your heart to God and TRUST Him, the result will be beyond human understanding. Believe me these two verses in Chapter 3 verses 5 to 7 have taken me through very difficult times in my life. I treasure these two verses .Amen

It will be completely different from your plan and understanding , but if you really Trust and lean on Him , the result will be beyond human understanding. Believe me , these two verses 5 and 6 In Proverbs 3 have helped me through very difficult times
Proverbs speaks life unto you. If you take heed an harden not your heart. Speaks my life. Thank you for your greatest an blessing I have received from this word s.
I think, that the book of proverbs touch on a level in your life that will set you free from alot of things, such as proud. hurt. pain. And it gives you the tru meaning of God 's grace, and mercy and what you can receive, bye letting go and let God fight for you

Wisdom is beautiful, precious, kind, soft and gentle. Something you want by your side and with you all the times. Sounds just like a good woman of GOD to me...
I love these words of correction and encouragement that Salmon gave to his son. So does the lord love us and want us to follow him. As long as we acknowledge him and trust him he will carry us through.
Alvis That is why Jesus had to die for our sins because, He was the only one that had not sinned, so he became the sacrafical lamb,He gave his life to so that God would pardon us the sinners.
Renee, I think it is important to remember that the Proverbs are in fact written by a man who is writing to his son. I believe the term "she " was used in this passage to show that wisdom should be sought after and then treated like a lady. And also if he had used "he " it would have been very difficult to read and comprehend.
"She " ....wisdom....why a she ? I mean I think it 's great ! I 'm a woman ...so Gods wisdom "she " woman "she " LOL! Sorry gentleman D ...But seriously though I don 't understand the masculine feminine with the words ? Kind of confusing . Why is Wisdom feminine . God bless
In Genesis 3 verse 22 says we are to take and eat from the tree of life if we intend to live forever. Proverbs 3 seems to explain that "she " wisdom is one of twelve fruits of the tree of life. We are to partake of the wisdom because it is by wisdom God founded the earth and by understanding he created the heavens. The wise shall inherit Glory while the fools promotion shall be shame.
Someone asked the question in these comments 'how did the gospel ever come about since everyone or all were sinning? '. The Gospel is the good news of salvation that is offered to all. It is offered from God and not man. Yes, the 'all have sinned ' refers to all men, and 'all have sinned and come short of the glory of God '. The 'Gospel ' is the good news that we do not have to pay for our sin. Jesus died to pay for our sins, therefore He is the source of the Gospel, which thankfully has nothing to do with 'sinful ' mankind. However, we are charged to spread the 'Gospel ' and the fact that we are all sinners in no way stops us from doing so, nor does it change the message of this good news.
In the URL that led to this page, I read that "all " means everything. If "all " means everything or in another case of "everybody " then there is a problem with salvation coming to pass. The phrase "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God ", cannot mean everyone, for if it be so, then, how did the gospel ever come about since everyone or all were sinning?
GOD is telling us to seek his wisdom and knowledge and he 'll provide what this world cannot!! Peace, joy and our everyday needs. Don 't try and figure things out in your life when you experience hardships, and you will. But put your trust in HIM and he 'll provide, protect and give you the strength you need to overcome any situation.
This has always been a favorite scripture for me. Going through very trying times in life, you have to step out of the situation, step back, and believe that God 's way is the true and only way to come through your situation. I 'm in the mist of a difficult time now, but I 'm smiling! I 'm smiling! My trust is in Jesus! Saints, HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATH! Keep believing..
