I believe "LOVE" IS the common denominator here.JESUS LOVES us with perfect LOVE.mans love is marginal....gimmeee,gimmmeee,gimmeee.JESUS teaches us to LOVE HIS WAY .JER.29;11-14.JESUS LOVES US VERY MUCH.
CHAPTER 27 of FUTURE and FRIENDS
* FUTURE: Ch 27:1 Starts out on how not to look at the future and the chapter ends on how to look at the future vs.23-27; By tending to your business with sober gravity, because wealth vanishes and governments change, but wisdom is a constant value enduring forever. Wow! What wisdom it is to have your needs met from a source not attached to "changing" currency and governments! How current are these proverbs today! Our script money is becoming like momopoly money and our nation is nearing the exit. Also in vs,12; wisdom enables you to be prudent and dodge future evil and hide yourself. Zep. 2;3 & Ps.32;7 He is our hiding place.
* FRIENDS: Abraham was a friend of God and Jesus said," Ye are my friends Jo. 15;14&15. What an honor to be a friend of Jesus! I see Jesus, in the attributes of (friend), as in vs.6; Kisses of an enemy are deceitful, speaks of Judas. Faithful are the wounds of a friend, speaks of Jesus. He was wounded for our transgressions and by his stripes we are healed. Isa.53; And one shall say unto him, what are the wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer those with which i was wounded in the house of my friends. Zech.13;6. So faithful are the wounds of Jesus, that salvation, healing, & all blessings for all eternity depends on those wounds.
* And vs.9; Jesus is our counsler and his words are sweet, as perfume rejoicing the heart. Vs.17 Iron sharpeneth iron Heb.4;12 sharper than any 2 edge sword. Vs.19 As in water face answers to face, so the heart of man to man. 1Tim.2;5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Being a friend of Jesus is then; iron to iron, face to face, man to man, glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Cor.3;18. agape -- reggie ---
PROVERBS CHAPTER 27: IT IS BETTER TO HAVE AN OPEN REBUKE THAN LOVE THAT IS HIDDEN. WOUNDS OF A FRIEND CAN BE TRUSTED BUT KISSES FROM AN ENEMY CAN BE MISLEADING. A BIRD THAT WANDERS FROM HER NEST IS LIKE A MAN THAT WANDERS FROM HOME. DO NOT BRAG ABOUT YOURSELF TOMORROW BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT ANOTHER DAY MAY BRING.
Wesley seems to say it means what I thought it to mean. Reminds me of Matthew 23:5
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
I believe that it means that one should work diligently to tend to or take care of the business that God has committed into his hands. It can be an assignment, a task etc. God is saying that the pastor or man of God should really go close to his congregation and know them personally, find out where they are hurting, press to know the challenges they face and proffer solution. Whatever their state is, be it spiritual state or physical, a shepherd is admonished by the Lord to take care of his flocks and lovingly cater for them. Lead them to greener pastures and to springs of waters. Pastors should always labour in the word and prayer to be able have access to revelations and insights from God. Then feed the flock with fresh word. Thank you.
