Wonderful this verse! Peter the apostle said" that the trial of your faith more precious than gold that perish, may be found unto praise, honor and glory in the revelation of Jesus Christ. Let the trial we go through yield praise honor and glory to God. Amen!

When you find out something about someone, that may damage their reputation, then it is important not to publish that matter. Gossip separates close friends, and God hates sowing discord among the brothers. Love covers a multitude of sins, and Jesus said if you catch your brother in a sin, go to him, and rebuke him. If he repents, then forgive him. We stand in the defense of the gospel, and when we do discipline this way, the body of Christ is strengthened. Solomon was the wisest man that lived, and the Holy Spirit used him to pen these words of wisdom for our edification.

This is a great chapter of the Bible. It tells the way of wisdom, and folly. Let a bear robbed of her cubs meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly. It also says that a fool is wise, when he knows when to shut his mouth. If any man lacks wisdom let him ask of God. He must ask in faith, and not doubting.

Will you be a friend to someone, who is in need of a friend today? A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. My parents had six children, and the last two where boys. My mom said the first four kids, two boys, and two girls where to be the only children. Well God had other plans, and I remember this verse always. God knows the end, from the beginning, and He knew my parents needed two extra friends. Thank God for your children, for they are your friends, and they will love you always. When adversity comes, they will be there to help you. God does not make mistakes, and He knows just how many children you need. When we get to heaven, then will we be able to rejoice with all the friends that God blessed us to have.

In ch 17 wisdom instructs to "study to be quiet"! 1 Th 4;11- Ch 17 starts and ends on keeping ones mouth shut and the attributes of being quite.
vs 1- quietness with lack is better than strife with plenty. And vs27- spare your words. And in the last vs 28- states,"Even a fool when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding."
