“If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.”
King James Version (KJV)
13:16 The servant is not greater than his lord - Nor therefore ought to think much of either doing or suffering the same things.
13:18 I speak not of you all - When I call you happy, I know one of you twelve whom I have chosen, will betray me; whereby that scripture will be fulfilled. #Psa 41:9|.
Joh 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. Know what things? Of course they knew that Christ had washed their feet. But did they know what he meant? The meaning is clearly, "If ye understand the meaning of my act, happy are ye if ye exemplify the same spirit in your lives".
If yee know these things, happy are ye if ye doe them.
