You are mostly the one misunderstanding scripture and what people are saying. YES, the sons of god in Genesis are fallen angels sinning and breaking God's law and mating with human women and the offspring was evil giants, far larger and more powerful than Goliath who was about 10-12 ft. But skeletons have been found up to 36 ft! When Moses' spies saw giants in Canaan, they specifically compared themselves to grasshoppers next to them and these giants came after the Flood, meaning that they were even smaller than the 36 footers. If sons of god only meant 'line of Seth' or "daughters of men" meant cain's daughters, then how did the offspring become evil, deformed giants??

Wow don't read too much into things. Yes, Noah built an ark following God's instructions. He was told what to do and yes, he had animals on the boat. Not every organism, mostly just pairs and even the dragons/dinos. Also, they would've been juveniles, meaning smaller.
  • Luke - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
That doesn't mean that one day = 1000 years. It means that God isn't bound by his own creation, Time and it also illustrates his patience with us. Jesus rose on the third day. Do people seriously think that took 3000 years? Context is everything.
  • Luke - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
The first 7 days were not 7000 years. They were 7 literal days. That verse is meant to show the patience of God and to show how God is not bound by something he created, Time. Context is important throughout the Bible.

?? Says it right there. Daughters of men.

Genesis 6 verse 5 ,It shows the eyes of God and descibes Human nature
  • Adam - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Hello, God loved us enough to give us freewill- freedom to do good or evil- and allows people to do that indeed- we're not puppets or robots. If you believe in evil then you must believe in good. Unfortunately, many choose do evil and harm people and they will be judged accordingly in the end. God is not a genie in a bottle and we aren't entitled to His protection at our whim. During our extremely short life we will face trials and temptations and it's our own choice how to respond- with good or evil- and our choice whether to follow God or not and these decisions affect were we go in the afterlife.

I don't know. If he is all powerful, why does He let these terrible things happen?
  • Comfused - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
we believe that every person is a child of God. Don't include me in that we. I have known lots of people that are more like kids of the devil.
  • Seventh day is sabbath - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Noah built an ark to give opportunity to those who would choose to be saved, we know from the bible that that those whom Noah preached to for 120 yrs. that none chose to get on the ark except Noah and his family. The ark could be symbolic of a church but if you look at it that way then you will need to sort out which church has truth and which truth you will follow so that a person will be ready for the second coming of Jesus

Linda Templet Genesis 1:27 tells us that God created man in his own image, He created them male/female then in V28 he tells them to go be fruitful and multiply. If man/woman were only a spirit they could not multiply. God and his Son Jesus Christ are tangible and we humans are created in their likeness.

Linda, you are so right. Any person who votes for a man who is married (not God's Law) to a man is sin. Many Americans, especially Democrats who vote for a certain individual (man) married to a man is in violation of God's Law. You can't go to certain communities who worship God and tell them to violate their belief to vote for a man married to a man because of your political beliefs. Which is the most important your life?

Chapter1:23 verse 26 I believe God made man like him self spirit body knowing good and evil.turn to chapter 3 verse 22 God announces behold the man has become one of us, to know good and evil now chapter 6 verse 2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and took them wives of all which they chose.
  • Adam - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Linda, the Bible already explained what it meant by flesh in Genesis 7:21 and other places. It not a mystery, but is the same as the literal dictionary definition of "flesh." It wasn't just people, but animals. Think.
  • Steve Wester - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
I am only going to give you one verse to think and about. 2 Timothy 2:15. To show you how important it is for understanding. Did it not rain most of the time they were on the ark. Do you Think Noah might have captured the water to drink?
  • Ethan - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Excuse me, Noah did build in Ark, it's in the scripture. What you're doing right now is committing blasphemy, spreading false teachings...
  • Believing in God's Truth and Not in Carnal Ideas - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Linda as confirmed before by Scripture you Andrew and 1am were in error and that Adam was Correct and he is again. By what you are claiming about Nohas Ark not being real means you are calling God a Liar He is not a story teller or does He share fables 2Tim3:16 Having His Wisdom would have lead you to His Truth not to your own precocieved ideas Linda. Scripture and the Rainbow confirms your wrong.
  • Adam - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Sounds like you're trying to rationalize not believing in God's Word. Are you yourself THINKing? Matthew 7:5
  • Linda Templet - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Your comment "please ask for Gods wisdom and the Holy Ghost" is EXACTLY what I did. I asked God to help me understand this STORY that the preachers preach over and over again without anyone questioning them. God gave me understanding as to how to understand His Words. He said-GOD IS A SPIRIT. How are our Spirits formed within our bodies? Your words just formed a angry spirit within me. I forgive U
  • Linda Templet - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
If you THINK that then than go back and read v. 19. "And of every living THING of ALL FLESH". This is where learning begins. You see ANIMALS of every sort entering the ark. Animals are not covered with FLESH. I see people who look like, act like, smell like, talk like, and behave like a bunch of wild animals entering the ark a church who GOD wants to SAVE. These people are FLESH--animals are not
  • Linda Templet - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Adam God gave us all a mind TO THINK. We have been TOLD that IS Noah's Ark. Is that the TRUTH or is it HEARSAY? Have you seen this boat or just looked at pictures? Can you tour this boat for Free or do you have to PAY to see it? We must always follow the MONEY TRAIL while we are searching for the TRUTH. Who owns this boat that was suppose to be built by ONE MAN THOUSANDS of years ago? THINK!
  • Jerry Rose - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
I think we know he measures it by days, and I don't know, but there seems to be a repetitive cycle of the seasons, so that seems to be a kind of clock he gave us in his creation. Time is nothing to God, but ought we not learn to number our days? That's from the very same chapter, "So teach us to number our days" Psa 90:12. God doesn't need to number them, we do. What is a day to you?
  • BJ - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
I am reading the KJV of the Bible. The scripture you quote about Godly men marrying worldly heathen women is not in Genesis 6: vs 1-2. Can you help me with this?
  • BJ - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Exactly!! We can only know what the Great I Am allows us to know.
  • BJ - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Exactly!! We do not know how God measures time. It is likely based upon your true statement our world earth could be only 2 days old in sight of God.
  • BJ - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
But, Jerry we have no way of knowing how God measures time. As I previously posted, with God a day is a 1000 years and a 1000 years is a day. Therefore, we do not know what 80 years means to God.
  • BJ - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
The concept of time is a great wonderment. The Bible tells us with God a thousand days is a year, and a year is a thousand days. This tells me we cannot measure time as it relates to God.
  • BJ - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
We do know that Jesus was angered in the temple when he turned over the money changers tables.
  • BJ - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
God provided what Noah, family and animals needed while on the Ark. I believe God led all animals and creatures to the Ark, at which time God closed the door that no man could open.
  • I am - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
GOD, my Holy Father, made me to see that ye know Christ is come in the flesh, and ye tremble. Yet, ye speak thine own fleshly wisdom, being dead in hell, for there is no truth in you. For ye blaspheme the Holy Ghost in every generation of this world that is hell: to be cast with death into the lake of fire. Being many, ye say ye speak the truth: so tell ye, Why doth GOD send his ONLY BEGOTTEN Son?
