When you receive wisdom you also receive understanding and knowledge You come to the UNDERSTANDING the world is dying and in need Millions die without knowing Christ Millions part of other religions If that does not put grief in you then i do not know what will You also come to the knowledge of what Christ did for us not only for the christian but for the unbeliever He died for all men so we might live In our own cities there are people living in sin not knowing who Jesus is their souls hanging in the balance if that does not create sorrow i do not know what will We must have a mourning heart for those who are lost and we must share the Gospel with a joyful heart
Yes his the son of David second king in jerusalem who spoke about his toil and everything he did was for no purpose nothing gained what has been done will be done all is vanity it has been done before no remembrance it shall repeat itself and the next generation will gain from all his toil and time has been used to divide peace joy life death all is for no purpose because everything was vain but who is the preacher Solomon Son of David Can t be I m confused
Here some vanity I goes to the enternet cafes tring to come up with a few extra dollars and everyone seems to win large amounts of money except me though it seems and even when I win something big I cant find nothing that I really want to buy with it I guest im really trying to say is that God is always there for me and He gives me the desires of my heart a quick dollar are a corrupt dollar but a gift from God are a everlasting gift No I might cannot move from this apartment but all my bills paid I have foods of my choice clothing and shoes and im able to go to and from as I please so I say rejoice in all things because what you think is good for you could also be bad
The one thing I became sorry for , is knowing that Jesus went
through what He did in order to pay the price in full for all our sins.
Knowing full well that without Him we would all be lost , He was not offended ,because He said Farther forgive them for they know not what they do . I am sorry He had to go through this for us .
@"Geoff Hicks" It is obvious you are reading from the 1611 King James Bible. To quote from this site, "The 1611 King James Bible was written more than four hundred years ago when the English language was different. The original 1611 A.D. text, written in Early Modern English, shows the language in closer association with its Latin roots. Spelling was in Jacobean style which was not entirely standardized, but could be read phonetically."
Up above in Ecclesiastes 1:9 from the King James Bible the quote is 'The thing that hath beene, it is that which shall be: and that which is done, is that which shall be done; and there is no new thing vnder the sunne.' I think the word 'vnder' is a misprint and should be 'under' - what do you think?
Be content and dont want or envy things that are simply things, enjoy the simple, and not only appreciate what you already have but also what you dont, there is alot of things we wish for we are typically not even ready for, (be thankful)
The entire book of Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon as inspired by the Holy Spirit. It's no wonder that the greatest gift given by God is Wisdom. It is written that "Wisdom is the principal thing", however paradoxically, verse 18 here expresses that the attainment of Wisdom brings grief, in this context, this is just proverbial and means that mankind must be mindful of the values of life. If we refer back to the previous verses of chapter 1, Ecclesiastes is giving us a deeper understanding of who God is and what Man's role in this life id. We know that man continues to strive most times for things that are corruptible, temporary, having lesser value for the things that are eternal and guaranteed. God indpired Solomon to take heed of knowledge which is just inferior and meaningless, but hidden in this chapter there is we ought to
really seek God's intention for us and have a fulfilling life. In Genesis, God warns Adam and Eve not to eat fruit from a certain tree (the tree of knowledge - discernment of good and evil). The repercussions of too much knowledge can bring negative results if God is ignored. God is the highest authority in Wisdom and there is no end to His Superiority or Power. Man should submit to God in all things and begin to live a fulfilling life that brings eternal Joy, Peace and Love.
What he means is that with his wisdom and search of it he has discovered is that EVERYTHING on this earth OTHER THAN what GOD has created is man made and therefore VANITY and all things that are desired and corrupt. His point is do not put so much LABOR into what vanity/man is driving you to desire that you forget the very foundation or the simple purity of life that is God's everlasting gift....Earth and US if we choose HIS life which is more powerful than anything ON the earth that repeats it's sins from generation to generation.
There comes a time when your creator says time up then you exit this world.Who were you serving all along? Is it God or mammon?Decide now if you choose everlasting life or everlasting death.Jehovah have compassion over your life.
Let us not be too much concerned with earthly things! We should rather be thinking of eternity. The question we should be asking ourselves is 'where will I spend eternity?
IT TELLS US THAT EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING TODAY HAS ALREADY HAPPEDNED SOMETIME IN THE PAST. wE SHOULD NOT BE VAIN BECAUSE MAN WILL EVENTUALLY DIE BUT THAT THE EARTH WILL REMAIN IN SOME FORM FOREVER. WE SHOULD NOT SPEND TIME TRYING TO LOVE EARTHLY THINGS BECAUSE THEY WILL EVENTUALLY FADE, VANISH OR BE DESTROYED. WE SHOULD FOCUS OUR MIND ON ETERNITY BECAUSE ETERNITY IS A VERY LONG TIME AND THAT WE SHOULD WANT TO SPEND ETERNITY IN HEAVEN WITH OUR CREATOR.
Human life is nothing without Christ. Since Adam and Eve people have lived a life and left a life. They worked; built; discovered; even invented. When that life was over the only thing that remained with them is Christ. It is vain to be boastful or puffed up(if you will)with earthly things or deeds.
We came to this world with nothing and when the time comes for us to return, we shall also return with nothing expect the works we have use our lifetime to achieve. Of what profit will it be having gain fame in this world and now recieve shame in heaven. Let's examine our ways.
True knowledge comes from above and it is confirmed by The Holy Spirit as to being Truth. The ones who carry this Truth, are humble, loving and compassionate. These attributes brings on a desire for others to know, also. They bring on a Spirit of sharing. The woe and sorrow comes when it is rejected or when others continue to do and live under evil wisdom...thinking themselves true. This is Woe.

It is a really a sober experience after reading this chapter. This chapter is reminding me that life without Christ is empty. And this world is nothing. We came to this world with nothing and will go back with nothing. In-spite of your beauty, connection, wealth, education etc they are all vanity. It also reminds me that one day the owner of my life will come and take it and that day all my personality, education, wealth will be left behind. I Pray that God will give me grace to leave above sin.
A very sobering consideration of all aspects of life, with the end realisation of what really matters, when it is all boiled down; life without God is purposeless, useless, pointless. Hence well summed up in Chapter 12:13-14

I am so very grateful for it because I know I do not deserve it.
