"TE" is irrelevant. You're reading the 16th-century English romanization of names in an ancient language which had their own alphabet and name-meanings. Completely ambiguous. I'm no scholar of the Chaldean language but the omitting of that one syllable from father to son could most likely be equatex to a modern-day "Jr." Cheers.
