In this, my favorite verse of the Bible, Christ promises us that we will experience ("ye shall have"), hardship in this life, but He also assures us that we are not to be downhearted about this ("but be of good cheer"), because He has already destroyed ("I have overcome") all hardship ("the world" - i.e. the home of tribulation). What greater assurance can there be in this life, than this?
