I am 55 years old. I have never had a broken bone. Any physical ailments I've had, I was able to overcome, with Jesus help of course! I have always been energetic and active. I till my own garden and I love to hike. Recently, I began listening to my favorite preachers on my iPhone while hiking with my dogs. On June 29, 2015, that life got interrupted. I was hit head on by a drunk driver. Just before impact, I cried out to God. He heard me. As soon as the airbags deflated I heard The Holy Spirit saying, "You are okay... Get your phone out of your purse and call 911." I did so. I was the first caller. I kept my passenger awake, I comforted my dogs. I called my sister and parents and some friends and waited to be cut out of my car. On the way to to hospital, I began praying, praising God and thanking Him for the beautiful day. I told my parents, "this is a beautiful day! I am alive!" My left leg was broken and my right heal was fractured in three places. It was a compound fracture. My passenger suffered a concussion. Both his hands and wrists were fractured. One of my dogs died later that night from a head injury. I had severe seat belt wounds. My side was very painful and swollen. As the doctors checked for internal injuries and the surgeon discussed his procedures, I said, "by His stripes, I am healed." A few X-rays and MRIs later, I was told I had no internal injuries! My left leg healed quickly. My right foot required a second surgery. It has been a long process, with set backs and infections, but the doctor has declared the healing of the bones to be "awesome!" He says I will walk normally and will hike again! I've been so blessed not to have had real physical pain in my life. This event was a game changer and an eye opener. One heal can cause so much pain it is sometimes unbearable. Think! Jesus had nails driven through both feet and His hands! He had deep cuts and wounds and His side was pierced. It makes me grieve to think of it. How he suffered for me, so that I can be healed, so that I can live! I am so grateful for His gift! Praise The Lord!
