The 144,000 saints give the last message of warning to a dying world. The song they sing is the song of experience, of being disbelieved just like the Savior was when He came the first time. The great majority will reject the three angels message and the Lord will come upon them like a thief in the night. Why? Because they want salvation on their terms, not Gods, and fail to heed the warning. "fear God and give glory to Him for the hour of His judgement has come" This 3AM is the final Elijah message, we've had two other Elijah messengers. The figure of angels is used to show the power of the final warning. As for the mark of the beast, this is about worship(mind) and what we do with our hands(actions). Notice the description of the saints Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. The saints obey God, enabled to do so by the faith of Jesus. This means God's perfect law is written on their hearts and they would sooner die then disobey any one of the Holy precepts. The nominal Christian does not view the commandments as binding on us and doesn't mind a little change here and there in them to make it easier and more convenient. Hence when the mark of the beast is instituted as law, the saints will refuse to disobey God and worship a man instead of God. Here we have action based on the conviction Ecc 12:13 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."
