Leaisa William, I am not sure who or what appeared to you and ask you fo for forgiveness probably Satan as an angel of light. But I am sure it was not almighty God. God is perfect and he does not change therefore, whatever he does is perfect even when he called his son your husband home. As ST. James said God can 't be tempted with evil neither does he tempt any man. In Genesis repent means God was very sorry that he created man. In exodus God repented of evil means He simply changed his mind about the severity of the punishment to his people after Moses prayed for them. Which was not an evil but would have been perfect justice, that was just a figure of speech. God bless us all and in the understanding of his Word.
