Verses 13 14 "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not be presenting his own ideas, he will be telling you what he has heard. ... He will bring me glory by revealing to you whatever he recieves from me. " The Holy Spirit is God imspiring us to believe in what he is doing as Jesus. That 's why Jesus said he does not come with a new idea or a message of his own. He only says to us what Jesus has said, and he leads us to understand it. He is called the Comforter because his message leads us to understand Jesus ' words and gives us comfort in knowing that Jesus as God has come to save us from sin. So for this reason, we should not try to place the Holy Spirit ahead of Jesus, or try to say that the Holy Spirit now leads us instead of Jesus. I repeat, the Holy Spirit is sent to help us to understand Jesus, not to replace Jesus as our leader. This is a dangerous teaching now being presented in some Christian circles, and will only lead to many falling away from Christ. I hope that this brief article will correct this.
