Update. My mom as some of you may know passed away January 16. This week Lord willing I will get my dad into a facility for his Dementia; starting with a nurse evaluation tomorrow. It has become necessary due to his confusion over medications; constantly trying to order things online; giving out personal information etc. Home health workers CANNOT administer pills.

Anyway the Lord worked out the connections for this process some time back; and this is in my mind a very nice facility; even one resident told me that. It will be against his will; but he is declared incompetent by the PCP.

It seems the Lord has opened doors for me to eventually return to Western PA where I used to live. Legally I think I will be able to sell the house; but visiting dad from out of town may mean I'll keep it for a time; and I am going to see about having a friend stay here if he is interested.

I suppose I am taking a cowardly sort of approach again getting more care for the rest of this week; namely to prevent arguing over the necessity for his move; as well as not having him manipulate me into changing my mind. It won't be easy with the bad weather upcoming to do things quickly but I can't waste any more time either as such things as drying urine soaked clothes over a space heater is very dangerous as well as unsanitary.

My main prayer is that my dad will have some opportunity to study the Word; somehow I plan to find a large print Bible to offer him (may have some stored someplace). My mom was able to have someone witness and sing Amazing Grace on her deathbed; albeit my mom's last day and she was unconscious; still the Lord allowed it to happen in its time as the lady who talked to her had no idea she was dying as she hadn't been there for about a month and just happened to call me that day.

This is the only way my dad will get to hear the Gospel as far as I'm concerned; I've done all I can.

I'll pray about when to return here for regular postings.

Started response to unlinked thingie in e mail. Anyway to make a long story short pray that I can get my dad in a facility; have to probably get him in there which seems possible as the intake lady is extremelty nice probably a godly woman and he wants to accept her visit for lunch sometime. With dad's dementia it seems I have to do this; I did explain of course his need for such help and my desire to return to Pittsburgh as he has always been career oriented; he then wanted me to look at local paper for the scant one page assemblage of want ads.

As I tried to say in my earlier writing I can't do enough to pray for you in return; I did say a brief one but am confident He is with you. Not sure the state of your kids that went to church if they believe or are becoming more ameneable.

Struggling with the denomination I am considering to return to as they are the only ones who believe as I do about divorce and remarriage but they are into infant baptism. The logic isn't something I think I can become a member there with but may fellowship there without that committment. They are interested in my evangelism pursuits and the new pastor wants to talk. Today I once again found out my former employer indeed has work for me; not sure if still full time but the firm split and the other parties certainly should be able to augment my notary and filing work.

My friend called me from there today after not talking for about a month; and I Lord willing plan to stay a few days during school break if I can get my dad situated. I hope to work during the summer there when my school semester work is over here in food service. I'd prefer eventually to buy a property there as apartment living hasnt been great once my home here is sold; for the time being id like to fix it and stay here when I visit dad once a month; again if I can get him in there

Anyway trying to understand the complexities of your family. Wish the Lord would come soon so I could meet you.

    Hello Richard,

It is such a good work of God for us to pray for each other and share our prayer requests and concerns in our lives.

My daughter in law, Vivian, is a believer. My son, Keving was growing up, but turned away from faith in God in his teens. It is encouraging to find that they were led to attend church as a family. My hope and prayer is for the gospel to be preached when ever they attend and that the Holy Spirit will revive faith in my son and strengthen Vivian's faith.

My middle son has gone the same route as Kevin, departing from faith in his teens. He has yet to show any interest in returning to the Lord but I know that God is at work in his life.

My oldest son married a Moslem women from Singapore. In order for her to marry him, he had to convert to Islam. He believed in Jesus growing up and departed from the faith sometime in his college years.

I persevere in prayer for them with faith and trust in God that the good work He began in them as children will bring it to completion in Christ.

    Dear Richard,

I know that God has heard your prayers and has caused things to come about for your Dad's care. I will be praying for your situation. I am glad things are moving forward for you.

I have some good news to share. My youngest son, Kevin, and his wife Vivian, who live with use with little Rosie went to church t day as a family. This is the first time they have attended church since they met a few years ago and the first time my son has attended church since He was 15 or 16. So, this is an answer to prayer. Praise the Lord for His compassion and love for my family!

Also, Kevin, Vivian and Rosie along with my middle son, Rob will be visiting Kenya in April for 3 weeks to visit Vivian's family there. It will be a reunion. Vivian has not seen her mom for 5 years, so it will be a joyful time with her Mom, aunts, cousins, and grandparents. I am glad they are able to go. They live with us here and this trip will open up a three week window of time for Steve and I to have to ourselves. We are considering taking a trip for part of that time. Please pray that we will be guided to use this time the best way. We have not had a "couple" vacation for 25 years. so we are thinking about visiting my brother in Hawaii or going to Arizona or both. We haven't been out of state for some time. But maybe we will just stay home and get some more things done outdoors for the house. The inside is pretty much done, but there are a handful of projects to do outside to get the home updated with painting, building a patio cover, decking the patio area and front porch, repaving the drive and walkway, regrading the front and back yard, redoing the lawn, replacing the fencing, and building a shop for woodworking projects which Steve wants to do in his retirement. I also hope we can build an addition on the lower level that will be a master bath that connects to the downstair bedroom. This would allow us to live on the ground floor completely in our later years.

    Please pray for us.
