When Jesus arose to meet the guards, He did so purposely, resolutely, and in victory. He did not go with the guards unwillingly, kicking and screaming. He was ready to complete what He was sent from heaven by the Father to do. Every step He took for the next 24 hours was a step of victory over condemnation of the law that happens due to sin, death, hell, and the devil ( 1 Jn. 3:8). And these victories opened up the way of salvation for those God elected to salvation from before the creation.
Jesus willingly took the 39 lashes without using any of His divine power to lessen any of the suffering. The same is true of the beating He received along with the mockery. As God He could have struck those guards dead for this mockery. But He did not. He bore His cross along the road out of Jerusalem to Golgotha. He was so badly beaten He could barely walk, and He did not use the His divinity to alleviate any of the tortuous steps He took on the way to His death. When they nailed Him to the cross, He did not squirm or try to fight it. He was led as a lamb to slaughter. He submitted to the executioners and was raised up painfully on the cross, naked, beaten and bruised to non-recognition. In His human nature He felt all the pain that any human would have felt, and so in His divinity He experience suffering and death because there was only one Person in Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God. Jesus did not take over the body of any human Person. His body was created specifically for Hom, the divine Son, so He could be the perfect sacrificial lamb to take away all our sins, gaining the victory for US.
When on the cross, the words Jesus spoke were few, but powerful. He was sin full consciousness and of sound mind during the whole crucifixion. He even ask the Father to forgive those who were putting Him to death-VICTORY! We can be sure that the Father answered His prayer. He spoke to John commending His mother, Mary, into his care-VICTORY! See Pt.9
