"A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about." (v.34)
In order to understand the significance we shall examine from the life of our Saviour.
The golden bell alternating with a pomegranate upon the hem round about we need not count which is pure speculation. The robe of Aaron signified righteousness which refers to the robe that Jesus wore. "now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout./They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled." ( John 19:23-24)This robe signified a quality of great import that the Spirit inspired the holy man of old to mention it.
It was of one colour and was one long piece of woven work: "And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue".(Ex.39:22) The bells, with pomegranates "And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen"(39:24) the righteousness was Person specific. The four in number establishing Jesus Christ as the Word become flesh. It was thus we see Jesus among a crowd.( Luke 8:455-48).
The woman with an issue of blood touched his hem,"and immediately her issue of blood stanched./And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me."
The golden bell signifies faith and it made connect instantly.
The woman suffered for 12 years just as Jairus' daughter was 12 years old, "For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age,"(8:42). Luke groups two healings where the Spirit sets a tag on both so how we interpret his healing cannot go wrong. He sent his word and healed them from their destructions. Tag for gospel of Christ is 12. (Ps.107:20)
