    Job 38:10-11 "The Law" (2 of 2)

In the earlier part we saw the everlasting covenant was the people's covenant where the fellowship of God with man gave the saints a volume with spelled the fulness of God where the Word serves as the law. Here we shall see it is Person specific.

"And set bars and doors,/And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?"

This is demonstrated in this incident where Jesus stilled the storm. "And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm." (Matt.8:23-27) The story of Jonah is associated with the sea. Jesus refers to his own death and resurrection as a sign. "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."(Matt.12:40). Setting bars and windows place the earth as one to which clouds serve a purpose as well.

"The waters are hid as with a stone."(v.30) This stone serves as stopper So when God sends the great flood we have its use. " In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened./ And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights."(Ge.7:11-12) The Law or the word of God has already set doors and windows in heaven as well as on earth. Forty days (4x10) refers to this word that went forth from God.

Blessing of man in his Son sets his transience as of no great consequence since his olume is made permanent by his Son.

Blessings always come from the greater to the lesser. So God asks, "Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?/ Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?" (vv.2-29) Within His holiness what is seen is temporal and what is unseen is eternal. (2 Co.4:18) Life as a vapor.
