"I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich."

Lillias Trotter wrote that those who suffer most have most to give. Isn't this true? When we suffer for Christ's sake, God gives us strong character--so we can help others going through similar trials. I believe the church is poverty stricken because they have suffered little for Christ.

Suffering itself does not give God's wealth. But, suffering for Christ's sake does. How much have you and I suffered for Christ's sake. The amount of this kind of suffering can measure our usefulness to God--if we apply it to our hearts.
