"And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground."
In this verse we have the everlasting covenant tied to the man who was the recipient of the blessings in his Son (the Man component). Significant is that this Man was already present since the Law of the Spirit has set him as the word become flesh, and who would be sent to the world in the fulness of time. So St Paul says,"God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ," and "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself," (Ep.1:3, 5) Do we ask the Creator why? Faith is what we require. So our works are merely to fulfill "that we should be holy and without blame before him in love." In order to be found without blame we require grace and nothing else He demands by way of works.. From the above Jesus Christ was our Intercessor and Mediator, "According as (God) he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world."
The everlasting covenant is Fellowship of God with Man. God sent rain upon the earth only after a man was found to till the ground.
So where was this Garden of Eden? In heavenly places as St Paul mentioned in the above mentioned quote? The same relationship of our being in heavenly places as we read in Col.3:1-4
"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God./ Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth./ For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God./When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."
