Just want to add to DeonFourie's comment and say that one of the first steps you could do in taking action is to be sure you have a KJB bible to read and study. You can, of course, do it online (this website is one of the very best) but an actual "book" would be good for you also to have it always available, to makes notes as you study, etc. Let it become your companion and PLEASE don't let ANYONE convince you any other bible is God's truthful Word. I don't mean to sound opinionated but you can be sure any other version is corrupted by man.
It is always tough to suffer an addiction and then to suffer the consequences of it.
I would want for you to see the struggle as an opportunity to gain faith. You will need rocksolid faith for everything ahead and thus building faith is precious.
Believing that God forgave you is great, now you need to understand the idea of faith as the substance of things hoped for. You hope to prosper and be responsible and be financially independent and and...
Having faith is also pointless if not supported by works. So you need to choose what you ask from Father God in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, then believe that it will be, keep on motivating yourself to this by faith and then apply an action that confirms your choice and whole frame of belief. Much much easier said than done, but every step is golden. You tend to stop looking at problems but rather opportunities and you tend to see the answers God gave you before you even considered the hassle. You will not be tested above your ability - so if things get really tough- it is because you are and requires more than what most people can give to resolve.
Choosing God and truthfully following Him is the toughest thing any person can do- no wonder the reward is everlasting life with God.
Seek God with all that you are in everything and ignore society programming of Who they impose God is. Find God every day for Who He truly is and be set free by the Truth of Him in you.
Remember- Father God allows His true followers to ask of Him as His children. He wants to help - so let Him...
