Today I wish to speak of aspect of God's nature that He is:

    HOLY

Holy has mainly two aspects: being separate or set apart, and being perfectly pure and faultless.

God is separate. he is not a part of creation, but its Creator. There is none like him. He alone is God. he is the only One. He has no rival or any one who can equal Him. He is the only Being of his kind. There is and has never been and will never be any other God that is truly God in essence, divinity, or nature. Everything else is His creation, so nothing in his creation is comparable to Him. His majesty and greatness is unparalleled.

The other aspect is that God is perfectly, eternally pure and faultless, wholly blameless and unblemished in His moral Being. He is without sin, no evil resides in Him. he will never do what is wrong, never go against His holy nature. He will always act out of His Holy Being.

As humans He created, we cannot attain to His infinite and boundless Holiness, but in Christ we will become perfected in the life to come to have perfect holy humanity without sin any longer. The angels are also holy and without sin, but they are creatures and thus not holy in the sense of being separate. There are myriads of angels, billions of humans, but only one God.

    Again Frankie, If I may.

Have you ever boasted about yourself, your family, kids, job, spirituality, or holiness?

Have you ever taken credit for something God did?

Have you ever not prayed for someone who has asked you to do so?

Have you ever not taken seriously someone else's plight, problem, concern?

Have you derived pleasure from pointing out fault in another but bristle when someone does that to you?

Have you ever gone faster that the speed limit, rolled through a stop sign, yelled at another driver who cuts you off?

Have you ever pushed your way in front of someone else to get into a place before them?

Have you ever rehearsed in your mind the retort you would give to someone who wronged you?

Have you ever wasted time on frivolous things when more important things need to be done, whether for the Lord or others?

Have you ever failed to take seriously another person's problems, pains, difficulties, concerns, or needs?

Have you ever given an untruthful excuse for being late or not showing up or not being able to attend an invitation?

Have you ever disciplined your kids because they made you angry, frustrated, or inconvenienced you?

Have you ever spoken negatively about your spouse or children or parents?

Have you ever resenting having to care for your kids? or felt that they are a burden rather than a blessing?

Have you ever been wasteful of what God has provided for you?

Frankie,, I could go on and on, but all of these are sinful. I doubt that you, nor I , nor any believer could say they have never sinned in these ways in all of their life as a believer. And anyone who would say that they have not, either have just now become a believer or are deceived about their own behavior. But, just as Jesus said that anyone who hates their brother is guilty of murder, demonstrating how everyone sins even if they keep the law outwardly, I engaged you in this exercise for the same purpose. I am guilty of doing some these things. I am a sinner, I need Jesus.

    Dear Richard & Gigi

As I read both of your post & waited

Here is what I received, John 5:44

    Gigi

In the love of God, I came to you from the learning you have of the letter, hoping that by this lowly means it would speak to your heart of these teaching you have spoken of that are contrary to Scriptures. Whether it has reach you or not, will thoroughly remain to be seen. Godly sorrow of repentance is what God is looking for here, which in His longsuffering love is mercifully offering to you. You spoke out publicly, it would have been appropriate to publicly confess & denounce this evil, but you choose to say, "I'm not led to reply" covering yourself & not with God's Spirit

Friend, there's a spirit leading you, but its not Holy, & your teaching is a witness to it.

    Richard

By your statement; " we are eventually going to be sinless but we are being sanctified now while on earth"

It appears your confirming this unfounded scriptural belief of continuing in sin as a way of life unto death. Where do you read of this type of sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience in the Scripture?

If I'm wrong please correct me, but if not, you strengthening yourself, her & others in unbelief & joining with her in this heresy

John 5:44 you're preferring & honoring one another, than the Truth of God's words, dishonoring God, His sacrifice & the life of Christ. Who's life says 1Pet 4:1 read the context of this Scripture for His people G3973

A primary verb ("pause"); to stop (transitively or intransitively), i.e. Restrain, quit, desist, come to an end -- cease, leave, refrain. is no longer stirred by its incitements and seductions,

    Finally & to all

In all that God has so graciously reveal on this subject in past conversations, I had hope that though you may not be as of now a believer in holiness of heart in this life, one would consider these truths & at least cease to be a advocator of this heresy.

for it is one thing to not believe & quiet another to be a teacher of it.

    Dear Frankie J.

I was prayerfully considering whether of not to reply to your post concerning me. The only thing I would like to know is waht I have said that you think is unscriptural in my post concerning God's Holiness.

If you would please let me know this, I would appreciate it.

    Dear Friend

If my memory serve me correctly, you're a former professional educator,,,,,,,, you do not perceive what has been plainly stated?

Gigi,,,,,,,,let us all join together in the love & fear of God, in His love one for another

& allow Him free reign in our hearts, to the perfecting of our faith that He may cleanse us with the washing of the water of His words

2Cor 7:1 the breath of God uses the words, "dearly beloved"

Titus 2:14 who gave Himself freely, then & now

All power in heaven & in earth has been given unto Him,

knowing all thoughts & intents of the heart, He patiently awaits our response

    Please come,,,, whosoever will come..........

    your friend in Christ

Grace & Peace be to you & to all & especially to all who love His appearance
  • GiGi - In Reply - 1 year ago
You didn't answer my question, Frankie, but again, just spoke pejoratively about me. I do want to know what I posted that is unscriptural in your judgment. No need to judge me as a person, just speak to what I have posted. If you will not answer my question only, then I will exit this conversation with you.

    Quoting you;

As humans He created, we cannot attain to His infinite and boundless Holiness, but in Christ we will become perfected in the life to come to have perfect holy humanity without sin any longer. The angels are also holy and without sin, but they are creatures and thus not holy in the sense of being separate

Friend, its not God's holiness that in dispute here, but our inheritance in Christ, now in this life.

The holy, innocent, pure, blameless, unreproachable life of Christ is our inheritance Rom 8:29 becoming partakers of His Divine Nature, the Fruits of His Spirit which against such there is no law, In Christ, the Father withholds nothing of Himself from us, for Luke 12:32

Its is a perfection of holiness that can be added too, as one grows in knowledge & understanding through the appearance of Grace in our hearts 2Cor 4:6,7

It's known, felt, consummated & possess in this life & is rewarded in the next. 2 Timothy 4:7,8

Christ prayer is answered John 17:21-24

Holiness is none other than being engrafted into God, union & oneness with Him in heart, mind & soul, for He along is Holy

This is the greatness of the salvation Christ purchase, that Hebrews declares "ought not to be neglected".

    For 1Thessalonians 4:7 2Thessalonians 2:13,14

G4047 Obtaining: acquisition, possession (the act or the thing); by extension, preservation, peculiar, purchased, possession, saving.

    Concerning angels Mark 8:28

    G40- most holy, consecrated

They are separated, Rev 19:10 "I am thy fellowservant, & of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus, worship God"

    Your quote is unscriptural,

you are advocating a life of continuous in sin & repentance for life term, there's no fellowship, union or knowing Him in this state according to Scriptures, this teaching becomes a stumbling block to the babes in Christ, Whom God is leading in the Way of holiness, your directly contradicting the teaching of Christ who says deny self & "sin not" & put on the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 1 year ago
    Or Frankie, again,

Have you every been untruthful with anyone since becoming a Christian, deceptive, evading the truth, stretching the truth?

Have you ever gossiped about someone, telling others the faults of others you and they mutually know. have you ever slandered anyone, speaking negatively about someone without merit, just because you may disagree with them or not do things the way you do?

Have you ever been prideful in your heart since becoming saved?

Have you ever harbored a grievance against someone when you should have forgiven and moved on in love?

    Have you ever been lazy?

Have you ever looked at what others have and thought they had more than they need and should give to people who are needy? That is coveting. Others had the right to what they have and to give whatever they determine to give but it is not right for someone to decide in their heart that someone else should give of what they have

Do you have disdain for others, whether very rich, or without a home, or young and rowdy, or criminal, or beautiful, or more successful than yourself? That is envy and also disdain. Both are sinful.

Have you ever accused someone of something they did not do? That is sinful-false accusation.

Have you ever eaten much more than your body needed at the time? That is sinful-gluttony.

Have you ever not given to someone in need when the Spirit has urged you to do so? That is a sin of omission and disobedience.

Have you ever done anything out of selfishness?

Have you been unwilling to do something necessary because it would make you uncomfortable.? that is sinful, not taking up one's cross to follow Jesus in that moment.

Have you ever been sarcastic with anyone? That is sinful. It hurts another and is a sin of superiority.

Have you ever avoided speaking or meeting with someone because they annoy you or are too needy or any other reason that inconveniences you? that is sinful=being a respecter of persons.

Have you ever spoken too hastily?

    I admit I have.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 1 year ago
Wow, Frankie, you read way too much into what I said concerning the holiness of God, which is above and beyond anyone He created, including angels, that is why I said the angels are not separate in holiness as God is. The angles are separate in holiness from mankind because those who remained obedient have been sealed to be holy forever and have never sinned. Mankind is sinful and need a Savior to bring us forgiveness of sins and take them away. Jesus is that Savior. Angels do not need a Savior because they have not sinned (the ones who serve God in obedience) and the ones who sinned have no hope of salvation being condemned.

When I say that God is separate from all of His creation-this is one meaning of Holy-being set apart or distinct. He is the only uncreated being and is perfectly, infinitely righteous and pure. This makes Him separate from anyone created, including angels.

As to your contention concerning our holiness-this topic has been thoroughly discussed in recent threads and I do not agree with your view. But we are free to think on this. You are free to call anyone who doesn't hold your view as espousing heresy. I do not call your view heresy even though it differs from mine. So we can come to the agreement that we differ in this respect. However, most who hold a view that we continue to possess a sinful nature as long as we are living in our present life are emphatic about living holy lives and endeavoring to avoid sin. However, ALL of us sin even after salvation, including you and others who take your view. Have you never been needlessly angry and sharp with another person, thought about someone else judgmentally to find out that you were not correct in your judgment, determined that another person was not following God by the Spirit when you cannot truly know if that is true or not, been distracted in worship with your mind wandering to other things besides the Lord, thought that some coarse thing someone said is funny? These are all sins.
  • Frankie J - In Reply - 1 year ago
    1st paragraph

I've never imply the angels were equal to God nor needed a Savior, just that they were separate unto God & are holy. Our fellowservants & of our brethen

The rest is your own thoughts, 'your Wow" is of yourself, accusing me what you, yourself are guilt of. Reading too much into what I said.

    2nd paragraph

    I agree with.

    3rd paragraph

It would be hard for you to call my view heresy, being its the Truth of the Scriptures brought to you by the learning of the letter, which you hold too.

Which you confess you don't believe, what a paradox is that. You don't even believe that which births your own faith.

The rest of 3 is in truth, the very working out of our salvation, 2Cor 10:5 as one exercises this, the discerning between good & evil, one matures from babes to adults. The process is slow, but through the pass 10 yrs I have been delivered their stronghold.

I learnt also through the years that the more I wait in stillness & silence before Him, the better I was empowered to discern & overcome the enemy, they still tempt at times, but God Spirit quickens me to their stratagems. Temptation is not a sin. I deny it, don't own it, its not who I am in Christ.

In the simplicity of my heart & godly care I reach out to caution you in what you are doing, you slighted this godly counsel, given according to the Spirit of the Scriptures. What kind of person are you Gigi to come out with such a response? and then not directed to me, meaning to be received by my email from this site.

The Lord judge between you & I, I give this into His hands.

By the way, I have not yet been born again, baptize by Christ

I'm within the work of regeneration, As I wait before Him in stillness & silence, I have found Him faithful & true, old things are passing away daily, & all things are becoming new, He will finish the work that He Himself has started. This I am assure of

I'm very grateful for His tender mercies towards me.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 1 year ago
    Frankie,

How do you know that I do not believe what "birthed my own faith"? This is an untrue, audacious, and slanderous statement. Therefore sinful. You cannot know what I know or don't know in my life in Christ.

Since you continue to say things that are untrue of me and claim things you know that you cannot know, I will end this interaction with you. You have proven yourself to be contentious and judgmental in sinful ways.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 1 year ago
Frankie, I did not imply that you had addressed what I spoke concerning the angels. Those are my words and what I believe.

    Sister GiGi:

    Is anger a sin?

    Did Christ every get angry.

John 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of cords, he drove them out of the temple ......

Psalms 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry ......

Romans 14:23 whatsoever is not of faith (of Christ) is sin .....

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even dividing the body and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is the discerner of the thoughts and INTENTS of the HEART.

Ezekiel 36:26 A NEW HEART will I GIVE YOU, and NEW SPIRIT will I PUT IN YOU ....

Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my SPIRIT IN YOU and CAUSE you to walk in my statutes (maybe become angry) amd keep my judgements (words) and DO THEM.

    God BLESS YOU!
  • GiGi - In Reply - 1 year ago
Dear Jordyn, in my post I said needlessly angry and sharp with another person. That is sinful.

But we can be angry and not sin. This is righteous anger as Jesus had, such as when someone blasphemes the Lord or harms young children.

However, most of the time our anger is of the sinful kind, if we really are honest.
  • One eighty - In Reply - 1 year ago
    Blessings Jordyn,

I hope you don't mind if I reply as to what you asked GiGi, "Is anger a sin?

Yes ,it appears to be so according to Scripture: Eph. 4:26-27, Col. 3:8 includes it with wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy communication. James 1:19-20, and more.

The word anger is associated with wrath and abundant throughout the OT. It is attributed to God. Should I conclude it is only a sin when we display anger and wrath? Help me out

Yet it seems you were justifying it as a righteous act because it appears that Jesus displayed anger.

I'm not insinuating you are right or wrong; just looking for a clear explanation. I'm probably misunderstanding what's being said.

    Thank you in peace.

    Ephesians 4:26

26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the devil. 28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Thank you One eighty for your response. I just got back to the discussions here and came to your response. I would have answered similarly.

    Good evening Richard,

It is going on midnight here but I wanted to take a break from my personal studies to check this forum and respond to you. I do hope that you can add posts to this study on Who God Is. I hope others will also add what they are led to contribute. God is the best subject to study, I believe. To study how He has revealed Himself to be is worthwhile. it grounds us in the truth of Who He is so that we worship Him more truly.

AS for my daughter in law. She had IV fluids at Urgent care and at ER, but has not been hospitalized. She came home each time. She is not keeping any fluids/foods down and is just not bouncing back from this covid infection. My son got it after she did and he is ready to return to work on Monday So, she has had a rough week and then some days. Thanks for your prayers for her.

As to criticism, sometimes I will respond with a post and other times I do not. People are free to criticize what any of us post on here. But we are not always led to post a reply. I wish each person well, though, always.

I'm hoping to return to my study in Deuteronomy and have been doing some research on it as a book. Hope to pick up on chapter 2 soon.

I pray that your job is going well for you.

I am glad that you are continuing this series on attributes of God. Obviously you have more knowledge of scriptures and better teacing abilities than I do; and I have been preoccupied with work and concerns at home lately. I never do well when I have to rehearse something or come up with a lecture to correspond with a set agenda; but I will attempt to add some thoughts in this alphabetical list Lord willing by this weekend...

As to your prayer request I will pray for your relative. I assume she is in a hospital; as UrgiCare to my knowledge wouldn't hook a person up to IV. I had 2 hospital stays getting over appendicitus and was on nutrition PIC line both times (IV fluids mainly with first stay). Obviously for different reasons; but it gives me an idea what it is like in that perdicament. (I could be wrong BTW I suppose a person could go home with such a device; it is always a challenge to get around especially to the bathroom hooked up to such machinery i called it the "IV dance".

Anyway; I think I get it with the criticism; we are eventually going to be sinless but we are being sanctified now while on earth. Glad you handle criticism well...

    Hi Gigi

    Quote

As humans He created, we cannot attain to His infinite and boundless Holiness, but in Christ we will become perfected in the life to come to have perfect holy humanity without sin any longer. The angels are also holy and without sin, but they are creatures and thus not holy in the sense of being separate.

    Genesis 1:27

Leviticus 20:26, the word holy is the same for both mankind, angels & God,

    H6918--holy One, saint

Or qadosh {kaw-doshe'}; from qadash; sacred (ceremonially or morally); (as noun) God (by eminence), an angel, a saint, a sanctuary -- holy (One), saint.

1Pet 1:16 holy here refers to the same holiness---

G40 sacred (physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated) -- (most) holy (one, thing), saint.

Matt 5:48 perfect refers to God & mankind, there's not a different standard reveal here or the above.

    5046 complete, perfect, mature

From telos; complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.); neuter (as noun, with ho) completeness -- of full age, man, perfect.

Matt 6:10 my Friend, its here & now !

you're speaking as one who has been seasoned in the discernment between good & evil & yet teaching things contrary to Scriptures, you started out good, but from this statement on, you degenerated, which make it all the more deceptive: giving an appearance or impression different from the true one; misleading

    Gal 5:9

you're putting a stumbling block before the young & tender one's ''babes" in Christ, whom God is leading in the Way of Holiness

God doesn't take kindly to this.

It would be wise of you not to teach such thing directly contrary to Holy Spirit of Scriptures

Friend; Ephesians 6:12 who seek to rule & reign in the hearts & minds of the children of men.

    in love & truth

To continue. God Being altogether holy, everything about him is perfect and unmatched. All of His ways are perfect, without fault.

There is none alike Him, He is completely absolute in that there is no one Higher than Him in every aspect of his Being. He is the High and Lofty One and non other than Him to rival Him. He is the Most High. No one can rival Him. Lucifer sinned in thinking he could rival and displace God, He had too low of a view of God, which is sinful in itself. Let us have a High view of God. He and He alone is One Who sits enthroned on high ( Ps. 113:5) ( Daniel 4:17 says The Most High is sovereign over all. He is the source of holiness. ( lev. 20:8) His name is Holy Is. 57:15) and we are not to profane His holy name. Lev. 22:32

    1 Sam.2:2

    Is. 5:18; 6:3 46:9; 47:8

    Ps. 77:18; 111:19

Jesus is the Holy One, the Spirit of God is Holy, the Father is Holy. It is their nature. Our God is Holy, let us worship Him in the beauty of His holiness. His holiness is majestic ( Ex. 15:11), splendid ( Ps. 29:2)

Sometimes we fail to address God properly in our sinfulness. But He has bent low for us in Christ to save us. We can also not appreciate his holy pureness by thinking that He is like us when we have weaknesses, when we laugh at things that are not pure, when we peek at what is sinful, when we speak of Him as less than He truly is. So, for me, I desire to keep in mind and heart the greatness of His holiness. appreciate that He will always do right and will excuse sin as simply an error or mistake or accident, and that He will create in me a greater love for what is holy and hatred for what is evil. I desire to love this about Him: He is holy.
