Since i know my gifts are empathy and discernment. should i tell people? including unbelievers? who should i tell? how should i use them? i'm just discovering my gifts.
I'm not one to arm wrestle spiritual speaking, but in the 9 spiritual gifts empathy nor mercy is listed. Please be very careful about adding to the Word, Revelation speaks of that toward the end of that book.
As you pointed out decernment and wisdom are the same, here again understand the word and the connection to the meaning.
Decernment tends to be used with judgment of in accordance with the Word. Where wisdom is having experience, knowledge, good judgment.
Solomon's "wisdom" was in line of ruling and governoring Israel, GOD'S people. Decrement here would not fit well.
If someone is just discovering their "gifts" and have been observing the Word, I think that, that person should have from the Holy Spirit less questions and more direction on how GOD is honored and given glory to our Lord also.
I'm not here but to mainly say, use extreme care, through prayer and scripture when working with the Holy Spirit and gifts. The greatest of us start by washing feet.
DDD you are very wise . It's very easy to become entangled in things on here , which can lead to negative and even distressing feelings . Your first priority must be your relationship with your God and your Saviour . Stay strong in your faith and love , it's a wise person who knows when to stay silent . I wish I was wiser !
Christina, I would not tell others about your gift. I would just work with the Holy Spirit to utilize it properly. In time, id you do use it properly by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you may hear people tell you things like, "you are very discerning, or you show a lot of mercy (which is what the empathy is called). Hearing these things from others as you exercise these things properly will verify for you that these indeed are given to you by the Holy Spirit.
Please be careful about what is called a gift. When a person has a gift, the gift giver would have provided answers to questions that are asked.
Tell no one, feeling for someone isn't a gift it's concern, care, or interest. I didn't say love because the scripture details that best.
Discernment is not for the young Christians. What I mean is mature Christians know that with that gift the Holy Spirit is very careful because to use this gift, a relationship with God's Holy Spirit is vital. Please tell no one and keep in mind the gift giver is really the one who we discuss matters with. The scripture has All the answers to your questions. Finding them Will take time in the Word and in prayer.
It's a gift. Empathy is the same Mercy. when Jesus cried even though he would raise up Lazarus. Discernment is a gift. it's the same as Wisdom. discerning spirits and judge between right and wrong. the ability between spirits that are divine, demonic, or human. When Solomon asks God for Wisdom when King David died and taken the throne.
some Christians with the gift of Discernment sometimes get ignored or treated badly.
both are challenging i understand what you trying to say. i won't tell anyone i was just asking i been a Christain my whole life but i'm just now discovering my gifts.

i'm just now discovering my gifts. i have the right to ask questions. when it comes to God we have make sure we help one another.
i'll be back to this discussion before it close because it's a debate right now.
You asked Questions, you got replies.
I for one no longer will respond, because to debate issues related to opinions can turn into one of two directions- beneficial or foolish.
Looking for healthier matters for my soul and spirit, is where I rather go.
