I'm reading Job at the moment and lm struck by how much of the dialogue also finds its way into the new testament , in particular Jesus paraphrases a lot of things from Job , into his sermons . I'm determined to go through and mark out every bit that Jesus repeats . I'm always full of good intentions but I'm sorry to say that I rarely follow through with them .
Thank you , I never thought of that ! I just finished Job and was going to read Mark next but I won't , I will go back to Job again . Thank you so much .
Dear "Sammi" You will see that you come to and do it now with the confession in your words. Fear not nothing is dangerous in Jesus Christ holy name. Hebrew 12.
Stay close in the Word of God, be always happy and thank for everything. Love u in Christ.
Thanks for your kind reply . I sent you a big reply earlier today but it didn't get put up . I must have said something offensive I guess . It took me ages to type it ! Nevermind . Thank you again .
Thank you for your kind reply . For the new year , I would like to ask everyone who reads this a question . What did you learn this past year ? You don't have to posts your answers but they might be helpful to others if you do . As a young person I was a cool customer . Not very warm , friendly or emotional . As I got older I was worried that I didn't know how to love . Maybe twenty five years or so ago , I asked God , in prayer , to teach me how to love . He's still working on me but I think that I have improved , with His help . Ive learned that to really love is to love indiscriminately . To do this I had to allow God and Jesus , right into my heart . This wasn't easy for me , I know that when you love it opens you up to feeling pain and I don't like that . Also , I'm a bit judgemental and don't find it easy to even like certain types of people . I still need a lot of help from my God with this . I've learned to try not to see the flesh , go straight to the heart . Don't look at the dirty clothes or the unkept hair or the bad teeth . Just look straight at Jesus . It's much easier to love good looking , clean , well spoken , calm , friendly people . What about the others ? They are God's creation also . God loves them too . I've also learned to look straight at the vulnerability of a person and try to empathize with that vulnerability and love that part of that person . I've met some mean souls in my time . Some of them are in my own family . As mean as they are they are just flesh like me . This past year I had some mean family members become very vulnerable and they've been in need of a lot of help and support . I know my duty so I've been helping out . It's been an extra load of work for me but I've done my best to be practically helpful and to try to cheer them up . They aren't the most emotional people either . They sent me a lovely card with such a nice message of appreciation , I was moved to tears . My heart is softer for helping them . Thank God . Amen .
Dear Sammi, I have to apologize but there is something wrong with my phone email so I don't get notified when someone has posted a comment. So it's not at all because I don't want to answer you. On this day, I received a message from gmail that I have 17 emails in, but when I click on it, I get a reply that everything has been done. whether we can call it human or not. In any case, it is wrong.
I would very much like to answer what I have learned in the past year.
1. Reads what I write. At least if it's in American English.
2. That we can wish to be elsewhere. But we have to work where we are.
3. That I must ensure and carry out the necessary service on the car. Because after days with minus 25, the car stands like 10 stones. Presumably in the spring.
4. The most important thing is with the Lord. Where He teaches us so that we understand that He is involved as much in the Small as in the Big (matters).
5. Now the Lord works with me daily. Like this: I don't know what I say to people about the Lord on the phone. I share His Word but don't remember what I read to them. I believe it is because: I shall not boast of anyone but the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. It is by Him that I live. It is through Him that all will come to the knowledge of truth, Amen.
Stand up and read carefully in God's word, some of the secret is in 1 Peter 1 chapter. That is where we find the Lord in God's Word. Have a wonderful Christmas talking about Jesus and what He had to do for us all. Be bold in His holy name. Throw away all negativity and live with your heart of flesh. This is how I see you are. You know everything really good and bad. So guard your heart above all things.
Merry Christmas too u and yours in Godly peace and love in Christ.
Dear Free , thanks so much for your reply . It's good that we are all on here growing in the Lord . Most people don't like change , myself included , though I feel that change is essential for our growth spirituality . If we stand still I think it's a bit like saying that we are finished , done , no improvement needed . We have a saying here , when we haven't seen someone for a long time we might say to them : you haven't changed . I guess it's meant as a compliment but if someone said it to me I would be worried ! I need to change , a lot ! The only Truth I know for sure is with God Everlasting . I wait for Him , I long for Him . Everything else is banal . I know I must allow myself to get bogged down in this life , keep my eyes looking up and do my best to show love love love . I fail every day . I like what you said about checking your car , that sounds like personal experience . Here's hoping 2023 is the best year ever , for the whole world , God willing .
Hello Sammy, seems like your post did get up on the board after all.
In thinking about your question, the first thing that comes to my mind is the word "adjusting".
In the last few years I have been adjusting to bring pretty much forced to retire due to disabling physical conditions. Often I will see someone working a job and think, "I would like to try this job". But then I must face the fact that I cannot be on my feet for longs lengths of time, nor sit at a desk for long spells, nor can I walk around all day. I realize I need to take time out throughout the day to sit reclined in my chair to rest my back, feet, and hands from physical activity. I have always been an "on the go
type of person, so adjusting to this retirement has been met with being able to study the word more, pray more, and learn to relax and take it easy. It has paid off for me to do so, as I can tell that my back is doing better, (not hurting all day long) and was even able to do some light gardening this past season. These are blessings. I am thankful for them.
So, "adjusting" has been my learning this past year or so.
Thanks Gigi . I hope you are able to adjust to your new circumstances and be assured of God's love for you always , no matter what this life throws at us , He is always close by .
Stay close in the Word of God, be always happy and thank for everything. Love u in Christ.
