    and still we are not saved why is Jeremiah speaking like this what has Israel done

    It's not what Israel did, it's what they/Judah did; after God brought them out of Egypt they began doing things which thought were holy but were not, not pleasing to God.

    Jeremiah 8:5 Why then is this People of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.
