Wow , thank you , you have given me a lot to think about and I really enjoyed your post , thank you again . I am definately a bit sensitive if I think some one is leaning a bit towards astrology but of course the Bible does use the sun and moon metaphorically . I think the first time is in Genesis with Joseph's dream of the sun and moon and twelve stars , if I remember , Jacob interprets them to mean Joseph's mother , he himself Jacob and Joseph's brethren . Interesting to note that the european union chose twelve stars as the symbol on its flag and more than once we hear of the stars falling , just a thought . God also promises that the sun and moon will not be needed in His Kingdom . Thank you again for your post , you can be sure I shan't take it lightly and I will read your references and give thought to all you have said , much appreciated , much love in Christ .

    Dear Peter,

Saturday is named after the god Saturn. Pagans worship the planets as gods along with the sun. But the sun and planets are part of God's creation and our physical universe. Romans 1 says that we are not to worship the creation but the creator. So, since we do worship the one true God, it is good to worship Him every day, no matter what name people come up with to name the days of the week. I have never thought of a pagan god when saying the names of the week.

    Hi Peter,

It sounds like you're assuming the Sabbath and worshipping God are supposed to be the same day instead of two separate days. Do you recall what led you to draw this conclusion?

We are to worship, follow, and honor God every day. First century Christians met on the first day of the week which I believe is Sunday. This custom has continued until today, but it is good to gather and worship anytime. Jesus was resurrected on Monday and some believe this is the Lord's Day. Bible references: Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 16:1-2, Psalms 118:24

I noticed you tried to discredit Sunday by referring to a pagan name, but not Saturday even though the same smear tactic could be applied. For me, pagans don't own the days, don't own the names, and have no power, just like they don't own Christmas and won't prevent me from celebrating Christ's birth, and just how sodomites don't own the rainbow, which God made and means God's promise, not the sin that some cults and loud bullies associate with it.

Amen you seem to be very knowledgeable about the Bible i like to share this with you and see what you think in psalm 19:1-6 The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament sheweth his handywork 2 Day unto day uttereth speech and night unto night sheweth knowledge 3 There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world. IN them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun. I have wondered what was they saying and led me to this the sun is a ambassador of the son of God Jesus because without the physical sun the world will die and all life on it without Jesus the son of God all will die. The moon represents the Holy ghost to give us light in a dark world until the son (sun) returns please let me know what you think may God bless you always

The Heavens declare the Glory of God in V 1 , then in V 4 in them ( the heavens ) hath he set a tabernacle for the sun . I'm not comfortable asigning astronomical symbolism to God and Jesus . Some people believe that the Bible does that occasionally , that's fine but I don't think that it's for us to do so . It's a bit too close to astrology for my liking . I hope I have explained the connection from V 1 to V 4 adequately enough . Much love in Christ

    Sister Suze:

You are very knowledgeable in the scriptures, and you didn't get there by not understanding that a great deal of scriptures are symbolised or signified.

Revelation 1:1 .....and SIGNIFIED IT ......

Revelation 12:i And there appeared a great wonder in heaven .....

Is heaven the physical, OR, signified? the word says it's signified.

The woman also is signified, being Christ's church, or his bride.

The wonder IN HEAVEN is a woman, the church, the bride of Christ, YOU ARE HEAVEN, the abode of GOD and Christ at his right hand.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder IN SUZE; SUZE clothed with the SUN (the Father abiding in SUZE, and the MOON (Christ, the faithful witness IN HEAVEN) under SUZE'S feet, and upon SUZE'S head a crown of twelve stars (an innumerable company of angels, ministering spirits).

Psalms 84:11 The LORD God is a SUN (signified) and shield: the LORD (the sun) will give GRACE and GLORY: no good thing will he (the sun) withhold from them (SUZE) that walk uprightly.

Psalms 121:6 The SUN (the Father) shall not smite thee by day, nor the MOON (Christ, the faithful witness in heaven) by night.

Psalms 89:35 Once have I (the Father) sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

Psalms 89:36 HIS SEED (CHRIST'S SEED)(SUZE the SEED) shall endure forever, and his (Christ's) throne as the SUN (the Father) before me (Christ).

Psalms 89:37 It (Christ's throne, SUZE the throne, set in heaven) shall be established forever as the MOON (Christ), as my faithful witness IN HEAVEN (IN SUZE).

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is MY FAITHFUL WITNESS ......in HEAVEN, in SUZE, this mystery .....CHRIST IN YOU ......

    God Bless you.

God is Not a sun , but his creation , Jesus is not a moon , he's son of the living God. U are deceiving people by saying God the Sun , Son the moon .

    Brother Peter:

    Is Jesus Christ a LAMB.

    Is Jesus Christ a TREE.

Is Jesus Christ a ROCK or STONE.

    Is Jesus Christ a MOUNTAIN.

    Is Jesus Christ WATER.

    Is Jesus Christ a FOUNTAIN.

    Is Jesus Christ a FIRE.

    Is Jesus Christ an ANGEL.

Is Jesus Christ a SWORD, ETC.

There are hundreds of metaphors used to describe CHRIST and GOD.

Sun and Moon happen to be one of those metaphors.

You will never understand the WORD, until you understand the metaphors and parables of God.

    May God Bless YOU.

You are very kind to me , I shall protest though smiley face , I know for sure that I don't know anything about scripture that isn't there in black and white for anyone and everyone else to know . I'm just the same as everyone else , two eyes one brain and one heart , all I do is try to keep them open and connect the dots , anyone can do that , some times I get it very wrong smiley face , i do love to be provoked by others view points even if I don't agree with everything some one says , there can still be little gems in their posts . Much love in Christ .

    Amen Jackie:

God uses parables, and symbolism through his word.

We, through the working or the Holy Spirit, have to break down the symbolism to make all scriptures agree with themselves.

Psalms 19:1 The heavens show his handy work ....

John 3:13 No man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is IN HEAVEN.

Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery ....CHRIST IN YOU ....

YOU and I (the heavens) show his handy work and glory

Psalms 19:2 Day unto day uttereth speech, night unto night sheweth knowledge.

Literal day cannot speak, nor literal night show knowledge.

You and I speak, by the working of the Holy Spirit.

Psalms 12:4 Who have said, With our tongue we shall prevail, our lips are our own, who is Lord over us.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God that WORKETH IN YOU (this mystery, Christ in you) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

Psalms 139:12 Yea the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

Psalms 19:4 Their (speech and knowledge)(Christ in you) line have gone through out all the earth, and their word (Christ in you), in them (You and I) (Christ in you) he hath set a tabernacle (you are the temple of God 1 Corinthians 3:16) for the SUN (the Father).

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple there in: For the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the TEMPLE OF IT (Christ in you).

Psalms 19:5 Which as a bridegroom cometh out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul (body, Christ in you) shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation (Christ in you), he hath covered (blood of Christ) me with the rob of righteousness (Christ in you), as a BRIDEGROOM decketh himself with ornaments (Christ in you), and as a BRIDE (You and I) adorneth herself WITH HER JEWELS (Christ in you).

I'm out of characters I hope you see the picture.

    God bless you.
