Is Heaven and hell, right here on
  • Luke - In Reply - 2 years ago
Geographically, Heaven is the third Heaven, that is where the Lord is. Hell is located in the heart of the earth... I think it was Spurgeon who said, this life is the only Hell a Christen will ever know, and this life is the only Heaven an unsaved person will ever know.

"For those who are born-again, and are the blood-bought, redeemed children of God, this earth is the closest thing to hell that they will ever see. For unbelievers who reject the gospel of Jesus Christ, this earth is the closest thing to heaven that they will ever see."

This earth is neither heaven nor hell. Heaven is the throne of the Great God we serve, and the home of the saints; hell is the habitation of devils and the lost.

    Blessings!

Kay: Heavenly bread for the digestion.

Revelation 13:8 And ALL that dwell upon the earth, (this will come to pass at the second resurrection, back to their flesh, TO JUDGEMENT) shall worship him, whose names ARE NOT WRITTEN in the book of Life of the Lamb slain FROM the foundations of the world.

Isaiah 26:9 ...and when thy JUDGEMENTS (second resurrection) are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will LEARN RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Psalms 149:9 To execute on them the JUDGEMENT WRITTEN, this honour hath all his saints.

We will either be the JUDGES bringing the world to righteousness, or we will be the JUDGED, learning righteousness.

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is IN HEAVEN.

Colossians 1:27 ....this MYSTERY .....CHRIST IN YOU ......

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a NEW HEAVEN (Christ in YOU) and a NEW EARTH (where RIGHTEOUSNESS will DWELL), for the former HAD PASSED AWAY.

These scriptures teach there is neither heaven or hell, as taught by the traditions of man.

    God Bless YOU!

    Part 2 - Hell

    Hell:

Deut. 32:22 - For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Psalm 9:17 - For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Psalm 86:13 - For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

Isaiah 5:14 - Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

    Mark 9 -

43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

I believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell, based on the Word of Him Who can not lie! Glory to God!

Again, grace to you ELB! Have a good weekend ahead!

    Sister Kay:

Hell: the Hebrew word sheol, a place of no perception were the dead go, the grave.

Deuteronomy 32:22 For a fire is kindled in my anger .....

Is this fire literal, started with a match, of the fire of the Lord.

Luke 12:49 And I have come to send fire on the earth; and what will I (be), if it (the fire) already be kindled?

Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Luke 12:50 And I have a baptism (fire), to be baptised with, and how am I straitened till it BE ACCOMPLISHED.

Matthew 3:11 ...he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and fire.

1 Corinthians 3:15 .....but he himself shall be save, as yet by fire.

Psalms 86:13 For great is thy (the Father's) mercy toward me (Christ): and thou (the Father) shall deliver my (Christ's) soul (body) from the lowest hell (sheol, the grave).

Isaiah 5:14 Therefore hell (sheol, the grave) hath enlarged herself, and open her mouth without measure ....

    Mark 9:43

I have never seen a Christian that believed these verses, if they are literal, otherwise they would have cut off their hands and feet to keep from going to hell.

    It's an analogy.

You believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell.

Hebrews 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the REMOVING of those (literal and physical) things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things (SPIRIT) which cannot be shaken remain.

    God Bless YOU!

    These are some precious verses about heaven, ELB;

Deut. 4:39 - Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

Deut. 10:14 -Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord's thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.

Isaiah 66:1 - Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

1 Thes. 4:16 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Isaiah 6:1,2 - Though these verses do not say 'heaven', we've already established that heaven is God's throne, and He, and other inhabitants live there! ---

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

John 14:2 2 - In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you

The Father lives where His throne is, i.e., heaven.

Space doesn't allow me to continue with more 'heaven' verses, and there's not enough room left to look at 'hell', so I'll do a 2nd reply!

    Grace to you!
  • ELB - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Sister Kay:

The Father lives where his throne is, in heaven.

Revelation 1:1 ...and he SIGNIFIED it ....

Matthew 13:34 And these things (his words) spake he unto the multitude in PARABLES, and without a PARABLE he SPAKE NOT unto them.

Matthew 13:13 Therefore spake I to them in PARABLES: because seeing, they SEE NOT, and hearing they HEAR NOT, neither do they UNDERSTAND.

You see the word heaven and you know heaven is a place; But, seeing you see not, neither do they understand.

Heaven is SIGNIFIED, and a PARABLE, a high meaning than the literal.

Heaven is were God dwells, God is LIFE, God dwell IN YOU, God is THE LIFE IN YOU. God is SPIRIT.

John 3:6 .... that which is BORN of Spirit is Spirit: God is Spirit.

Psalms 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods (born of Spirit) the CHILDREN of the MOST HIGH.

Flesh and blood CANNOT inherit the Kingdom of God, so we are BORN AGAIN into Spirit, and God is Spirit, THE KINGDOM of GOD.

The NEW CREATION, of two, You and Christ, to MAKE ONE. The Spirit Man, Christ.

    The FIRSTBORN among many BRETHREN.

    God Bless YOU!

    Hi ELB!

So many thoughts are going through my head! :)

I'll just say that, i.e., when Paul was taken up to the third heaven, he saw things not lawful to discuss. If all was 'Spirit' as you say - he would have not seen things that were wonderful. Isaiah saw the Seraphim, and described them precisely; that means they have substance.

Our bodies, now, are the temple of the Holy Spirit. If we defile THAT by willful, gross sin, we do place ourselves under God's displeasure and chastisement.

As for Mark 9, of course no Christian plucks out their eyes or chops off their hands! Jesus was indicating how strict we need to be in order to escape damnation! I can tell you ELB, much to my sorrow, there was a time years ago in my Christian life, where I was not as 'strict' as I needed to be. Thanks be to God, in His mercy, He schooled me on this, and I MUST, by mortifying every member in my body, be as one who 'plucks out their eye", i.e., like Pauli, 'beat my body under" rather than to sin with my eyes! We cannot think that Paul LITERALLLY 'beat his body under', i.e, 'gave himself a black eye', as the words are in the Greek. NO! He was talking about putting down flesh and walking in God's Spirit by walking in God's Word.

When Jesus rose, He ate, He drank, He inivited Thomas to touch Him and see that He was not a ghost - but had substance! Jesus ate again with the disciples on the road to Emmaus.

I know that I know that I have been born again from above; my Father has revealed His Son to me, and in me, and has put eternity in my heart. I can say Job's words with faith:

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

26And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

27Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

    Hasten the day, Lord!

    Grace in abundance, ELB!

    Sister Kay:

I know you are a child if God because the WORD says you are a child of God.

I think we all want to know as much about the Kingdom of God as revealed in his WORD.

God is Spirit, God is the LIFE, The Father gave the Son to have LIFE in himself, God gave the Son the inheritance of all nations of the world.

God gave his son a chosen few (which could be millions) to be a royal priestshood, the ones who share in Christ's resurrection.

Christ and these Sons of God are going to judge the world at the second resurrection.

WE CANNOT be a righteous judge without becoming exactly like Christ, this in the new creation, being born of Spirit, but having the glorified body of Christ.

Romans 8:19 For the earnest EXPECTATION of the creature (man) WAITETH (in the grave) for the manifestation of the SONS OF GOD.

Romans 8:21 Because the creature (man) ITSELF shall be DELIEVERED from the bondage of corruption (the grave) into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

All this happens after the second resurrection when the Kingdom is established here on earth.

Mosses and the first children were a shadow: this time Christ is the KING and ALL WILL OBEY.

Zachariah 14:29 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses (THE PRIEST), HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD, and the pots in the Lords house, shall be like bowls upon the alter.

Zechariah 1:21 Yea every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holiness unto the lord of host: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein, and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of host.

    God Bless YOU!

Last night I was thinking along the lines of what you wrote, ELB -

"WE CANNOT be a righteous judge without becoming exactly like Christ, this in the new creation, being born of Spirit, but having the glorified body of Christ."

We cannot, in and of ourselves in our corrupt nature be 'reformed'. That old nature has to be mortified. The apostle Paul said of himself, "I die daily." Each day, we are to 'die' to that old nature, and walk in God's Spirit, conforming to Christ and His death. It is only the new birth, and walking in that which can make us like Jesus. He Who began the work in His people WILL finish it. THANKS BE TO JESUS!

Grace to you once again, ELB!

    Kay

    Good Morning,

Thank you for the reminder that we are to die daily, as Paul stated. as believers we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to empower us to do this each and every time. Thank You Lord! It is a good thing to be reminded every day by Him to put to death our old sinful nature and let the new life of the Spirit live forth in us. Confession, repentance, and godly action empowered by the Spirit is the daily calling of each believer. I pray that my heart will be more and more softened by the Holy Spirit to live this way always.

I too long to have that heart, Gigi, that says "No!" to self, and "YES!" to our precious Savior, Jesus Christ.

One of my favorite books (other than the Bible of course! :) - is John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress." I've read it at least 16 times, and find treasures in it, and much encouragement each time.

In one portion of the book, Christian and his companion are discussing "leaving all for Christ', which is another form of "dying to self." He makes this simple but true observation: It is much harder to REALLY 'leave all for Christ' than what we think! Just when we think we've 'lain it all down' - the Lord points out something in our lives that we haven't relinquished at all!

Yes, it's a daily process. We can't die today for what we may have to die to tomorrow. So may the Lord grace us, one day at a time, to be living sacrifices unto Him!

    Blessings in abundance, Gigi!

    Sister Kay:

You are exactly right WE DIE daily.

Our mind of flesh being renewed to the mind of Christ.

We can only come to the TRUTH of the NEW BIRTH, it happens at the death of this body.

There is ONLY ONE LIFE, CHRIST, and Christ is God.

Our body of flesh dies, LIFE (God) continues, we switch BODIES.

1 Corinthians 15:38 ...and to every SEED; HIS (Christ is the SEED) own body. Seed always begats the same seed.

It is beyond our mind of flesh to comprehend that Christ can live in us, yet can also appear as a man walking in flesh.

This is what we can look forward to.

Christ said that where he is we will be also; Christ is IN CREATION bringing creation to TRUTH and LIFE.

We as priest (with the body of Christ) in HIS Kingdom, the likeness of Christ, will be IN CREATION bringing creation to TRUTH and LIFE.

Revelation 10:11 ....thou must prophesy again (in your new body) before many peoples and nations, and tongues, and kings.

Go ye into all the world teaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. This is only possibly in the next AGE (world).

Read and study: Isaiah 66:18-24 and Jeremiah 51:19-33 and Revelation 2:26-27

These are prophecy about the Sons of God, we not a perfect Son of God till we leave this AGE (world).

Hebrews 12:23 ...... and to the spirits of just men made PERFECT.

    God Bless YOU!

    Kay:

Isaiah has thousands of prophecies about the Kingdom of God.

Isaiah 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the lord sitting upon a throne (the throne is in the TEMPLE), high and lifted up, and his train (wedding dress) filled the TEMPLE.

1 Corinthians 3:17 If any man (flesh and blood) defile the TEMPLE of God (Spirit), him (flesh an blood) shall God (Spirit) DESTROY: for the TEMPLE of God is Holy, which TEMPLE ye are.

2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who (flesh and blood) opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God (Spirit), or that is worshipped, so that he (flesh and blood) as (a flesh and blood) God sitteth in the TEMPLE of God (Spirit), showing himself (flesh and blood) that he (as flesh and blood) is God.

1 Corinthians 15:50 ....flesh and blood CANNOT inherit the the Kingdom of God.

Flesh and blood defiles the TEMPLE of God ( 1 Corinthians 3:17), so God is going to DESTROY IT.

2 Thessalonians 2:8 And when that Wicked (flesh and blood) shall be revealed (by the truth of God's Word), who the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth (word of God), and shall DESTROY (flesh and blood) with the brightness of his COMING (the new creation, CHRIST IN YOU).

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the LAMB are the TEMPLE of it.

The word says we are God's temple; BUT, the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are TEMPLE of it (YOU).

Flesh and blood no longer exist, we are a NEW CREATION, the exactness of OUR FATHER.

The OLD HEAVEN has passed away, all things have become NEW.

    God Bless YOU!

Isn't it so much fun when our Good Shepherd passes us a piece of heavenly bread, and we can share it with others?! What a blessing! Praise You, Jesus!

Have a blessed weekend that is already upon us!

    Hi Gigi!

You and your family have been much in thought and remembered in prayer! How are you doing?

You are cared about, and loved in Jesus, dear friend and sister!

    Blessings!

    Hi Kay,

I am doing well. My Mom died last Saturday peacefully in the hospital. I am joyful for her, knowing she is with Jesus.

Thank you for thinking of me. Our family has some work to do this weekend in distributing her belongings and clearing out the home to be ready to sell. Please pray for harmony and kind words. Thanks
  • Kay - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Hi Gigi,

I thought perhaps that was the case, since I've not seen you here for some days. Though your Mom's passing was expected, it's still a loss, and for that I extend my sympathy to you and your family. My Mom died in 1997, and I miss her continuously, though I too rejoice that she is with Jesus. She and I got saved on the very same day, and we were prayer partners, and best friends for a long time! I am so thankful for those years. It's the warm memories that we have of our loved ones who are with the Lord that warm our hearts until we see them again one day!

I will continue to pray for those things you requested, Gigi.

May the God of ALL comfort spread His wings over your whole family during this process!

    Love in Christ, dear sister!
