Where was the 120 believers when the Holy Spirit descended

All we know Larry, is that the believers were in Jerusalem (as commanded by the Lord: Acts 1:4). Some have suggested that they gathered in the upper room, as they did earlier ( Acts 1:13), but with such a large number (120), it seems more reasonable that they were in another location, possibly in connection with a synagogue or the temple, or even a large courtyard of someone's property.

The disciples knew that the Promise of the Father was to come upon them, and they would be baptized in the Holy Spirit, but one could well imagine the tension & anticipation of that day, yea, of that very moment - maybe talking amongst themselves, 'will it happen this morning or maybe this evening?' But when they were endued with Power from on High, it must have been such a mighty experience that lasted for a long time (several days or more), as others from afar heard about it & made the journey to witness this phenomenon of people speaking fluently in foreign languages unlearned. And how did some respond? As even today, when people see the works of Christ in people's lives, they disparage that witness & voice their own carnal reasoning, as did those at that time ( Acts 2:13).
