Beersheba is in South Istael on the border of the Negev wilderness /desert. This was the southernmost pastureland of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob although the Hebron ( in the highlands overlooking the Jordan River south of Jerusalem) was the preferred residence of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But they spent time going from pastureland to pastureland for their flocks. Luz/Bethel was in the highlands north of Jerusalem.
I don't think so, Jacob went out from Beersheba on his way to Luz/Beth-el.
Genesis 28:10-11. And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran.
And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
Genesis 28:19. And he called the name of that place Beth-el: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.
Genesis 35:1-3.
Genesis 35:6-7.
BEERSHEBA.
Beersheba was founded when Abraham and Abimelech settled their differences over a well of water and made a covenant (see Genesis 21:22-34).
