I will pray for you and for my son who also suffers with anxiety/depression
Lord Jesus Charles and my son Kevin need Your miracle in their lives today to remove this anxiety and depression that is debilitating them at this time.
Bring Kevin back to faith in You and keep Charles strong in his faith in you. Fill them with Your peace and calm their minds and body systems. Fill them with hope in You and keep them from dwelling on the things that disturb them and fix their minds and hearts on You and Your love and care for them.
Hello Charles, The key is to trust in the Lord Jesus, and that may seem obvious, and easier said then done, but my encouragement is to pray fervently throughout each day, that the Lord God would help you trust in him with all your heart as He instructed:
Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
We can't simply will ourselves into no longer having fear under our own power; because without Christ we can do nothing (even simple things like trusting Him) - therefore, we need to pray that He will be the one that makes the change in us.
John 15:5
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 - "Pray without ceasing." so keep praying day after day without ceasing until He gives you that trust and answers your prayers and cry for help.
The Bible shows us fear is a sin ( Revelation 21:8), so it's something we all should be on guard against, and it's good you are confessing it, because James 5:16 makes it sound like that's part of how we are healed from such a fault:
James 5:16 "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
And like any other sin, God promises to give us a way to escape it:
1 Corinthians 10:13
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
Next time temptation comes, go to the Lord Jesus for escape, trust Him, and keep your mind on Him:
Isaiah 26:3
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
Maybe even sing hymns as you pray - it helps you keep your mind on Him and when they prayed in prison the chains broke off( Acts 16:25)
Dear Charles, I too have had horrible in the past anxiety and panic attacks. It's a terrible feeling. What I did was seek my general practitioner's help, and when I fell into the grip of a spell, I got busy doing something--housework usually and at one point critiquing creative writing lessons for a class. Anything to get your mind off the attack will go a long way. I will pray for you. Let me leave you with this verse, which speaks of being afraid but can relate to anything you are facing or experiencing. Psalm 56:3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
I will pray for you and for my son who also suffers with anxiety/depression

You are being tested. Stay strong and pray hard.
May His mercy give you the strength to find your relief. Fight for your well-being and overcome your experience, my brother.
