My question is according to scripture what did the Israelites mean they

Would not eat any unclean thing ? Is this in reference to following a false doctrine ? What is the meaning to that verse? Curious oceansoflove!!!

the children of Israel were commanded from God not to eat and partake in certain foods. God says certain foods are not to be eaten by them deeming them unclean. because the nations around them were partakers in this God wants his people Holy (separate from the world). the new testament teaches that these laws are no longer in effect these are old ordnance from the old covenant, but we as Gods people are still commanded to be separate not of the world and Holy

Grace These are things deemed by the Lord as unclean for a specific reason, many things that were written in the

law because He's God and always had a beneficial purpose for His laws. Also many forbidden practices he knew were

pagan practices. I've never read the book of maccabees.
