is masturbation a sin. i would always have this debate with others saying it is and explaining how it is also apart of doing something sexual.

There is one example of masturbation in the Bible: Genesis 38: 6-10. There was a custom that if a brother die, his widow could conceive a child through his brother. The line of seed would continue. But this remaining brother refused to participate. He went in unto her, but he did not complete the act of impregnating her. He spilled it on the ground. He died, because it displeased God.

This shows us, that in sexual matters, God sees our intentions. The "marriage bed" is undefined.

    Titus 1:15

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

Bottom line: it's better to be married; than self-gratifying. These days media demands that we satisfy ourselves, with beauty and power. Handsome partners are more desirable, etc.

In the case of Jacob, Abraham sends the "Servant "(a picture of the Spirit), to fetch him a suitable wife. It was love at first sight.

There is a suitable man for you. You need to be cleansed through prayer and be about a routine of expecting a husband to come into your life. He may not be beautiful, but he's rock solid spiritually. He's probably sitting in church looking for the same as you. Dating is a period of making sure you are compatible SPIRITUALLY. You water his camels :D and be prayerful throughout the process. If your "Jacob" is not in your church, ask the Lord if you can Visit a nearby church. Let Him lead you. God cares for you.

    I hope this helps you.

Single Life The context of Titus 1:15 is in regards to an unbelievers mind which is un pure and defiled, the

context starts at verse 10, iin light of that we who believe should look to God to meet that specific need in

    our lives.

    Dear Madison,

This is a good question on a "delicate" subject. I agree with Bro Dan on this, that it is sinful to self-pleasure oneself sexually. I believe that sexual pleasure was designed to be shared with a marriage partner in chaste behavior that involves intercourse, of in place of it. I believe this because God as connected sexual pleasure to marital relations the beginning with Adam and Eve and that God also connected marital relations to procreation from the beginning as well. Therefore, since God ordained this bonding of sexual expression in marriage in a procreative way, any deviation from it in any aspect I consider to be sinful. Not everyone sees things this way, but this view was a the norm up until tis past century.

    Madison,

I believe the verses spoken by Jesus below confirms that masturbation is sinful - if not in conjunction with a spouse.

    Matthew 5:28

"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."

    Mark 7:21

"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,"

    God Bless.

Madison The basic issue is self control, the sin part if any is your satisfying yourself instead of focusing on

things of God although temporarily. The other side is your not getting anyone else involved so basically if

no one knows that's between you and God. Sex drive is not the same with all people including believers.

That being said its still in the category of renewed mind self control.
