    Thank you

It should be noted that God made animals for us to eat. See Acts 10:13-16. We are also to be good stewards of the resources God has blessed us with, including the resources of the land. To me that means to not waste food and not kill for sport if you are not eating it. If there is a threat from animals, such as wild hogs in Texas, that kills crops and other animals then I believe killing is necessary to preserve resources. Also, I believe killing in self defense is ok. If a neighbors angry dog attacks a child I will take any and all means to stop it including killing it, and I would think not stopping it would be wrong.

God values human life more than animal life, but animals must be treated with mercy and respect.

Please read the following Bible verses:

    Matthew 6:26

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

    Luke 12:6

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

    Proverbs 12:10

A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel."

So killing a pet is troublesome because it suggests that the animal has shown kindness to the owner.
