Fighting Over Sabbath destroys the Purpose Of It - 3 years ago
Will we never get the Sabbath controversy solved??
If one would read what God said, at a one-legged snails pace__there is NO controversy. It is not dependent on some world clock; or the Roman Catholic clock or anyone else's clock that they tinker with daily.
Satan wants everyone confused. Like me..tell him to Go To Hell__prepared for him and his demons! He'd probably argue that I can't!! It's not Sunday or Saturday or the Lords Day. Frustration ensues. You reply: It Is prepared! As it is Written!
God said: 6 days shall we work. The next day is the set apart day for the Sabbath. We rest. Exodus 31:17, 31:13:12-18
Modern times, we think there isn't enough week to get everything accomplished. Rest and Church are first thing that gets pushed to the BOTTOM of the DO LIST.
Lawn mowing, check; oil change wash the car, check; wash clothes & put away, check. Wash dog, check. Etc
No one wants to know how much time we accrue sitting in front of a television, computer playing games, talking hours to people through media instead of talking to our family. The 6th day is for us to do the honey do's and go to ball games with our kids; family stuff.
It's a small thing to go to church on "Sunday" and hear Gods Word (which we trust to save us from destruction). Go to a restaurant for an hour to fellowship with friends over food. The rest is ours to be thankful no one is sick; walk the dog, kids & enjoy sunshine and hear nothing except excited voices. Gods voice? Whatever we give to God, he multiplied back to us. (Don't let teenagers bow out) Parents demonstrate What's Important every day.
Computers, cable & Streaming, chatting online are not babysitters. If family life HURTS, then YOU change it. They'd rather have Time with YOU, anyway. Ignore the frowns
Great Big cruise ships are turned with a very small devise. It's not impossible to change habits. Put God first, and He Will sort out the details of change. Touch heals.
Nehemiah 10:31 shows that an ancient interpretation of the Sabbath means you should not be buying or selling.
Nehemiah 10:31: And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.
Jesus will return as a thief in the night.
1 Thessalonians 5:2: For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
When Jesus returns, He will judge. It makes sense that He will judge base on the Statutes, Laws, and Commandments of God.
Revelation 19:11: And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
This suggests that if you are breaking the Holy Sabbath Laws, you will be judged by Jesus.
Perhaps you should determine what the Sabbath is based on The Word of God and not on your personal feelings. After you do that look at the "old" World before colonization, Africa and the Middle East, and find out what day they considered to be the Sabbath Day. Then make your own decision.
WHY WE LOVE WHAT WE DO HERE - In Reply - 3 years ago
I study to help seekers after Jesus. I sit in my closet floor and pray for those who hurt, are confused, in darkness. They are real. I put a pillow on my knees and groan because they won't pray for themselves.
For 3 seconds I looked into Jesus's eyes, in a vision. I could not look away. His gaze was direct, piercing. Someone spoke 2 Timothy 3:5. The vision was gone. I was in shock but that scripture woke me up.
I tore through a 19lb Bible and I found out I was living under a death sentence for being an astrologer. For doing charts on Christians. Then I was shown hell.
2 Timothy 3:15. I was 5 when I became aware that someone was teaching me about God. We played and he explained the wisdom found in proverbs.
I was sort of kidnapped like Daniel; But by evil. My aunt was always around and she believed in all kinds of occult practices. I thought she was nuts with cards, crystals, crystal balls, aliens. I married and moved 800 miles away. ButI began 13 yrs of astrological & astronomy studies, seriously. My life hurt so bad I was sure there was something wrong with me. The stars would explain?
After I was born again for real and for eternity, I went outside one night, leaned back in the swing, saw the stars above and saw My Father. I cried out 30 years worth of tears. Jesus's eyes are burned into my brain. He's beautiful, not like any movies you've ever seen. He wore a white robe.
The Most Powerful thing you can do as a new believer is to read the Bible. He inspired every word in it. He's serious; He has a wonderful sense of humor. Serious as a father when it means life, or spiritual Death, or when we misinterpret Scripture.
Stay in the New Testament until you know Jesus's way of teaching. Discern Him. His Word will save your life and others, by what you soak up. Be a sponge. Do not SPEED READ.
You have to remember human beings were writing this down on scrolls and carrying them.
Thanks for a telling post! In your life you have gone down alleyways I never visited, as I know that God put a hedge around me when I was young and a believer. But your testimony reminds us all of those who have been exposed to deep evil that captures and enslaves people, even against their "knowing" how bad it is. Our country is becoming more and more occultic, joining the millions in other countries that follow pagan practices. This pat is very destructive and "dehumanizing" way to live. Dehumanizing because it draws us further away from how God wants us to live in Him, which is our true identity. So, perhaps you are prompting many of us here to spend more of our time prayerfully. I am so glad that God can reach people no matter how deep they are in wicked things. He gave you a vision and a scripture. that is so lovely!
It is interesting the way He works. He gave you a glimpse of Himself and that changed you. I had a vision in January 2000 of Jesus. He was also dressed in white, but His whole body shone with such intense holy light that it went right through me in a way that was very painful. I knew I was sinful compared to Him. I asked Him "Lord, I am yours, why can't I stand before You?" He replied, "I am the Holy and you are flesh and blood in a carnal body. My holiness puts to death carnal flesh. That is why my holy light brought you to your knees." I then, once again, confessed myself a sinner in need of His righteousness. Though I had been a believer all of my life, this event changed me in an instant. I never shared this before. But it seemed appropriate to add this in response to your post. I do not seek such experiences. But the Lord thought I needed that vision. I am thankful and have a more profound view of Jesus than ever before.
The way I heard it, at Church; we're not to forsake assembling together. Our presence might mean a lot to someone who is losing everything they ever loved; the car is broke and they don't know what to do? They're saved but need some encouragement__just like in here.
In my experience, every time I feel the wind beneath me because I'm sitting on a pedastal__I know I'm going down. :D
Part of having this room is teaching; the other is ministry: encouragement, a timely verse of scripture (not 25 in a list). I go to church to hear a word from the Lord and to just hang out with the saints.
I like this website for many reasons. It's viewed in other countries, the search engine is great! Bit has its own commentary for fast reading. The Testimony Link where people can post their. You can talk to anyone. I like GiGi. You will too.
John 14:21: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Also see Matthew 5:17-18:
Matthew 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Great works are done by those that taught us. Some of those same people display pagan Christmas trees. We are all doing the best we can and correcting ourselves as we learn and understand better. I do not believe that the belief in Jesus Christ means we no longer have to keep God's Statutes, Laws, and Commandments.
If it is a tall pedestal, it is because of these standards which are high but obtainable. Please see 1 John 5:1-3:
1 John 5:1-3
1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
I like you, too. We both have soft hearts for others and are encouragers. We both have a lot of experience walking with the Lord for many years, but very different lives, yet have some good things to share with others. It is good that God has drawn us both here on this site to learn from each other and others who post here. We are blessed here.
Most people feel invisible maybe, because of social media platforms. You know__we talk to them online but we can't really see those faces.
I met someone at church, and 3 times a week we'd meet at I-Hop and do ministry on UT Campus in Austin. It was wild at times.
We both attended Singles Ministry too. We'd bring some kind of food and talk about our weekly lives: work problems, family conflicts, dating disasters, dating tips, missionary type outreach.
It was just come as you are. We met in each other's homes. Honestly, it was the best!!
Single people need face to face inter-action. Explore successes and awesome fails. LOL.
One time someone brought a head of iceberg lettuce for food. :O we found peppers and tomatoes to make eyes, ears, mouth__and made hair with thousand island salad dressing. (Bring toothpicks). We took pictures for the church bulletin board. It was so funny!!
You don't get that kind of action on Facebook or Twitter. I'm not on any of that. I'd rather go over to Goodwill and talk to complete strangers about what kind of people dropped off "that tshirt" !!??
A favorite saying of mine, is: "I stepped out of the house, into a pile of humanity and got smiles and laughs all over ME."
If Jesus can pull little children into His lap and bless them with the oil of joy; why can't we? Our lives are so controlled; even our environments.
I have days when my joints scream obscenities at me, but I make myself ready to meet the world. GO YE SOMEWHERE :D
I'm gonna get a T-shirt that says, honk if you love Jesus, so they'll stop running me over in the grocery store, with their carts :/
May the angels kiss your sleepy eyes and keep watch over you :*
God has placed us both in the place and times He has ordained to be His witness to others that "cross" our paths. I go to Goodwill often. I rarely buy something at a "first hand store". I know that purchasing a thrift store helps charities. My son graduated from culinary arts school and works at a resort restaurant. He is picking up some good cookware from Goodwill for is craft. He lives with us and we cook a lot together. It is a good connection for us, He was the most openly rebellious of our three sons, but he has always been kind and soft hearted. It is good tat we have this together before he once again tries to make it on his own. All of my sons have needed to move back home for a time as adults. We don't mind. God has blessed us with a home that can accommodate them. My oldest just got married at 37. So, he and his wife are making their own home life. The one now living with us is 34, and our youngest is 31. They both need a good wife. I keep praying for God to send the "best fit" woman to them. In today's world, it is difficult to find people who remain married for decades. We will have our 42nd anniversary this month. We are thankful!

Wisdom in searching for your Life Mate
Taking Care of Your Virgin
Proverbs is a Book of wisdom in many areas of life, for both sexes. Proverbs 31 describes a godly woman. The Book of Ruth and the Book of Esther, again, women we can learn from.
Genesis 24 is a great book for those in search for a mate.
I Corinthians chapters 5 through 7: sometimes called the marriage chapters by some. It covers sexual impurity also.
I asked my son in his teens, do you want to marry a virgin, or a girl who was "experienced"?
He didn't ponder long, he said a virgin!!
I'll tell the story a female teacher said once at church. It was about why God covered the woman inside, with a hymen. It was a proof of virginity, but it also serves a purpose: It protects against diseases. You're not going to get STD's if you're saving yourself for marriage.
Our culture teaches the exact opposite. They try to force kids to choose gay, straight or in between; in grade school! You can choose Jesus's Way. That takes a lot of courage and inner strength.
The man searching for a good marriage candidate is going to honor her choice to wait, and will protect his virgin. She will love him more for doing that.
That was my take on the story in Genesis 24. If only the Church would teach that. You read it and tell me what you think about it. I'm kinda old . I know they don't do that these days; but it establishes trust
The ladies should know basic home keeping and cooking and budgeting; for sheer bliss.
I commend you for training you son well. We, too, took our call of parenting very seriously, and I stayed home for 17 years to "mom" my family before I entered my teaching career.
These times are so different than when we were raised. The social and peer pressures that kids (and parents) face are so amplified for the generation we raised our kids and the ones that came after. We worked hard at being as pro-active as we knew how in parenting. We also were cautious about what influences we allowed to bear on our kids.
Once they got into high school things really changed for my sons. They had more freedom and were exposed to much more than we could control. We prayed for them during this time and since, but even so, they turned away from the Lord. This has been so grievous for us. But we look forward to the day they each come home to Jesus.
We want our sons to make their way in life. Sometimes, things happen where they do need a helping hand, and we do what we can. They are pretty responsible in their lives. The economy does make it harder for young people to get established than in the past. Rent is one area that is so inflated that many children really cannot afford what is charged for a place and still meet all of their other obligations. That is where we can help them by having them live at home for a while so they can save up some for a better start when they move out. We have ad them pay for everything else, but rent and utilities when they live here. But time may soon be up for them to continue to do this. My husband has another 18 months before he retires and I am now retired. We want to downsize our home to one that will work better for the years ahead since I have chronic and progressive back problems that may make it hard for me to ambulate stairs or a large home. We pray for God to find us the right lot in the right place for us to build. When this happens and we move into our little home, the guys will have to be on their own.

I'm weird I guess. I taught my 12 yr old son "life skills 101" until he was 16. He learned full knowledge on how to run a household, cook real meals, yard work, maintenance on a car, more.
How to shop for a household, stretch your grocery money. How to never have to wear green underwear (laundry); sew on a button. He balanced my checkbook for me, to learn budgeting, paid the bills and saw what was leftover :(
I let him work for roofing companies. Cleaning restaurants, grandpa's gas station. I told him it was to teach him the value of an education because low paying jobs are hard, sweaty and exhausting.
When he turned 21, he purchased his first house (a new one). He's 42 now; has 13+ houses he rents out and maintains. Works full time at a 9/5 job, has a family. He's amazing! He's teaching his son the same things.
You have to make a personal commitment to give a kid the best start in life. Schools and even Churches don't teach that. Parents have to do it.
He got some traffic tickets at 16. He knew I couldn't pay for them. I took him to the County Clerks office so he could pay them out. He learned to obey traffic laws, young.
I love being a parent. If we'd just obey God and not skip over the hard parts that are time consuming; we won't have to launch the kid. They'll launch themselves!
Let them work some summer jobs. Swimming pools don't teach them anything. Driving a car is big time maintenance and expense; they must learn. CUT OFF the fun money and they'll want to get a job. If they demand cool clothes and shoes; let them get part-time jobs.
You have to cease to be their source. They have to see their source is THEMSELVES.
My kid got to keep all his money and budget it. He was broke some months. He got the hang of it pretty quick. He got better paying jobs as he could.
I told him that no one can take your home or car, as long as you have a job to secure your freedom.
Amarin, you are right, Christ will judge in righteousness. If you are IN CHRIST and CHRIST IN YOU, you are already JUDGED, and you have been found righteous, you have kept his commandments, because he fulfilled and kept all the law. If you are IN CHRIST and CHRIST IN YOU, you have CEASED from your works and REST SOLELY in HIS WORKS.
1 Peter 1:16 ...ye be HOLY; for I AM HOLY.
He has created you, by the new birth of SPIRIT, LIFE and TRUTH, to be like him.
Thank you for your kindness. I appreciate your comment.
I used to be a street preacher, logged in a lot of miles, been chased by "Christian scientists", barked at by people and dogs lol. I frequently picked up new converts and took them to church with me. I've had a great life so far with Jesus!
I don't think about before I met Jesus too much. No one ever asked me if I'd like to go to church with them. After I was saved I made it a priority to ask people if they'd like to go with me; any day the church doors were open. I do not ascribe to doctrines on "When is Sabbath". I wholly support going whenever the doors are open. I'm not married and I actually love Jesus's Church.
Most of my neighbors are 50-80+ years old and lonely. They know I'm a Christian and we have some lively talks.
I was watching tornado videos and praying hard. I accidentally clicked on a website I've been to before.
Tonight I'm really excited because a teaching I heard 30 years ago was confirmed!! Genesis 1:1, in Hebrew reads: IN BEGINNING; not In The Beginning. Which proves God set time in motion for earth and people. The thing that proves it is the first word in Genesis; translated to BERISHEET in Hebrew. Isa 46:9
I don't know Hebrew and wish I did.
So, this teaching is on one of my favorite Youtube sites: Rock Island Books, dated Nov21,2018
There's a lot of explanation about Hebrew letters. (I wrote it all down) I'm watching it in the morning again.
I'm grateful he didn't set a date for "the Rapture". No one knows the date. Only the Father.

HE ALWAYS HAD A JOB. Protect your home.
1 Peter 1:16 ...ye be HOLY; for I AM HOLY.
He has created you, by the new birth of SPIRIT, LIFE and TRUTH, to be like him.
God Bless You.
24/7 which is His Fathers and or Fathers original intent. No argument just scripture also in Mathew 22:36-40
on these two hang all the laws and the prophets! Again God makes it easy.
Blessings to you and peaceful sleep!
