    Yes indeed. The words 'ghost' & 'spirit' are interchangeable. However, these days with many films & books about the paranormal, 'ghosts' are associated with apparitions doing things that their authors designed them to do.

    However, in the spirit world, their appearance & functions are different. With Almighty God, He is a Spirit Being ( John 4:24) & from Him issues forth His Word (Who became the human Jesus), & His Holy Spirit, sent to "reprove the world of sin, of righteousness, & of judgement" ( John 16:8). So when we read of the Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit, they are the same Spirit sent out from the One God Who is Spirit.

    For there are three that bear record in heaven (heaven is not the physical sky),

    the Father,-GOD the Father - the Word, - the Word made flesh-JESUS - and the Holy Spirit - Who is not a ghost as is written in English language, but a Person - : and these THREE are One.
