    My Shepherd

My shepherd is the Lord, my King.

I'll never lack for any thing.

The greenest pastures are my bed,

for I have followed where He led.

He leads to waters calm, and still

where it is safe to drink my fill.

His blessings onto me are poured.

My very soul is thus restored.

    His righteousness he teaches me.

There is no better way to be.

If risk of death dare to appear,

I'll not be struck with any fear.

My Lord is with me all the way.

His rod and staff keep wolves at bay.

The table where He'd have me dine

has seats for enemies of mine.

His oil anoints me, cool and mild,

thus proving that I am His child.

With bounty, He has blessed me, so

that soon, my cup may overflow.

    His goodness occupies my mind.

    His mercy follows close behind.

With Him, forever, I shall live,

the greatest gift that He can give.

THIS is BEAUTIFUL! I'm copying it! Might I, please, share it if I cite you as the author? It's too wonderful to hide under a bushel or under a bed. ;)

If you would like to share it with my name attached, please feel free to do so. I believe that God inspired me to write it so that it might be shared.
