    John was a famous teacher of his day, an ascetic monk who people wondered if he is the one who should come to save Israel. But he deferred to his cousin, Jesus, whom he knew as a child growing up. Then Jesus began his career along the coasts of Zabulon and Naphtali saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand. I believe that this is your born again moment. To learn what repentance looks like, read Psalms 51.
