The Old Testament was the first writing about God and that book was written in Hebrew, which was the language of the Israelites and Jewish. If I write what God's name in another language it then wouldn't be in English anymore. Also, Hebrew uses different Hebrew characters so its not even possible to write that here and if it was, could you even read it? You can use the parallel view on this site to compare Hebrew to English though. So, it's my opinion that people often get fixated on what the actual names are in 'original' languages, however, my point of view is that we don't speak the original language, but English and it's already translated and correct. God is called God. He is also called Lord. Exodus 15:3. The pronunciation of Lord in English aside from the already-correct 'Lord' with hybrid characters is something like Yahweh, or YHWH, and Jehovah. Isaiah 12:2. Elohim = God in Hebrew.
Yes. I call God, God. He knows who I'm talking about. In one place He saying I AM. Should we call Him I AM. You can and you would not be wrong. I call Him God, am I wrong? I don't think so.
Where is the name GOD came from?
What language used the name GOD first?
Explains the meaning of G.O.D, purpose?
Thank you so much
can't wait to hear from you soon
