2Thessalonian 2:3 falling away, what does it mean?
  • Freedomborn***** - In Reply - 5 years ago
What Stan and Ruban shared Robert is True too in Regards to having the Right Focus The Love of Money is the root of all evil so leads to other Sins in this Scripture it's rejecting Jesus and Worshiping the Beast the Unforgivable Sin it's Blaseming The Holy Ghost and how can we be brought back to Repentance if we Reject in our Hearts our Advocate the Only One who can Intersead for us- Hebrew6:4-8

Robert this Scripture is in referance to the End Times after the Beast is made known some who acknowledged our God will still accept the Mark of the Beast because without it they will not be able to Buy or Sell but than they will be agreeing to Worship the Beast who will Control The One World Goverment and Church of all Religions Many True Christians will be Martyred Rev7:9-17 God Bless you- Anne

Anne, I am confused as to what you believe the Mark of the Beast is. I have been taught a different meaning--can you explain and where in the bible it is?
  • Stan - In Reply - 5 years ago
"Falling away" in this verse means a falling away from Christianity. A great backsliding where more and more people turn away from organized religion and churchgoing and become more secular and materialistic in their mindset and ways of life. This is what will happen during the end time right before the Anti-Christ comes to power. And it's happening right now in the world today.

Falling away means to know the truth but you just slip slowly away from praising God or keeping his Commandants. You can fall away so far you may not make it back. Live and walk with God every day you will be so wonderfully blessed you won.t even think of slipping. It's easy to slip into carnal sin--you will be there before you realize it. Keep God in the equation.

I have a question on this topic. Can a person fall away once he she has experienced the Second Birth?
  • Adam - In Reply - 5 years ago
I believe you're referring to being born again in John 3
  • Brian Dougherty - In Reply - 5 years ago
John 1:11-13 is the Scripture that I look to in order to understand Human Regeneration. Born Again or Born from Above is what I believe is the Second Birth.
  • Ruben Hartness - In Reply - 5 years ago
Brian, I can't find any scripture about a "second birth". Anyone can fall away if they go the way of the world. World is sin without Got with you. Once you have believed in the Godhead, why would you want to turn your back on God? There is one birth, one baptism, and one God. You are in control of whether you fall away or not- Repent and your sins will be forgiven--God's promise to all believers.

Once a person has experienced the New Birth you are given the Gift of the Holy Spirit as a Comforter, Helper, Advocate. I don't believe that a person can fall away or lose their Salvation from God once that event has occurred in a person's life. That's my understanding of "relationship" with God. The Presence of God in a Person's Life.

I believe the "new birth" you refer to is the crucifixion and salvation and 50 days after the resurrection we were given the gift of the Holy Spirit. The crucifixion wiped ALL sins away. There was no new birth, and I personally would not call it that. Your relationship with God is up to you-Many will fall away at the sixth trump they will believe the Anti-Christ is Jesus and they will worship him.

Read the following verses about the New Birth - John 3:5 Titus 3:5 1 John 3:9 1 John 5:18 1 Peter 2:1-2 1 John 4:7 1 John 5:4 Your Theology is a bit wrong, Brother when you say there is no New Birth. I'm not the first one to teach it - Jesus did.

Brian, I do not agree with you. Check Jhn 3:3,4,5. Born begotten--again Greek word from manuscripts "anothen" from above".3:4 question--3:5 answer. water is from the mothers womb--spirit is Holy water with soul given by God. Also check v 12. If you are teaching anything besides God's word, what then are you teaching?

Hi Ruben, I wanted to ask you one question. Do you belong to the Catholic Faith because Protestants and Catholic differ widely on theology beliefs about Regeneration and the New Birth?
  • Ruben Hartness - In Reply - 5 years ago
Brian--I do not belong to any faith other than God's letter to us--the bible. I usually attend a non-denominational church because I have ran into too much of man's belief over God's word. I don't hold with theology man's belief , I go with the printed word and what I don't understand I search the scriptures for the truth. That's why I always include the scripture proof of what I present.
