  • I Love Jesus on Romans 8:1 - 11 years ago
    It says here for all who are "in Jesus" ALL sins are washed away and forgiven. Even ones you might backslide to apparently. Why? because "NO Condemnation" is a VERY final term and to nth degree. It trumps all others easily. Amazing grace literally! Thank you JESUS! He came not to condemn but save to all who take his glorious God sent saving and loving hand ( John 6:37). It also adds later that whatever is not of FAITH is sin, and not to doubt.( Romans 14:22-23) Jesus also told us to have Faith in God. ( Mark 11:22) Note: Jesus did have his own set of commandments. One of many being to love one another like he has loved us.

  • David James on Romans 8 - 11 years ago
    Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

    36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

    37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

    38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

    39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    So, so powerful. Their love is a strength we will never comprehend. Maybe not even all of the love of his children combined can amount.

    Lev, I believe it means that we must be willing to endure persecution. Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
    Matthew 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

    very inspiring and brings to light that God is the very reason that we are able to overcome and stand strong no mmatter what comes or who tries to come against His children God has given us strength and insight to live straight and be for real and God is real

    I think the difference of the word intercession in the greek gives some light to this as well. The Greek word for Intercession in verse 26 is slightly different than in verse 27. The main difference is the preposition 'Huper', which is part of the word Intercession in verse 26, but not in verse 27. Since the preposition 'Huper' means both: In Behalf Of and Above in Time, honor, and position; this intercession is that of the Holy Spirit's (which is Above us in time, honor and position) and intercedes with our spirit. And since the Holy Spirit knows our infirmities and our hearts in creates this intercesssion. Any Opinions??

    Thank GOD who knows us before we were conceived in or Mother's womb, he knows our capability, he knows our future.GOD knows us by our name, from tonight, this is what the LORD says: you are important, it might happen that things are not going well for you, but i'm here to tell u that GOD greated you by his purpose. Remember ROMANS 8:28: And we know that GOD causes all things to work together for good, for those who trust in the LORD and are called according to his purpose for them.Amen.

    I believe that here in Ro.8:31 we are reminded h we war in the spirit, we are informed in the scriptures that if we decree a thin that it shall come to pass. When we are attacked by the enemy we must know what words to say to comb at him and gain the victor in three rounds Christ with the scriptures won. Of course the implication is much more serious, because Satan wanted to cause Jesus to taint himself before Calvery

    "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." The reason this verse causes so much consternation is because of our terminology with regard to being 'in the flesh'. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. Someone who is a believer may be carnal, or backslidden, or 'fleshy', but never 'in the flesh'. The believer is always in the Spirit. Now they may have an infantile walk but nevertheless a believer, being born of God, is now and forever in the Spirit. It is only up to us to be kept being filled. Or in the context of Romans to reckon ourselves dead, to let not sin reign, and to yield to righteousness. Its imperative that we do that as long as it is now, which of course is right now.

    We in the weakness of the flesh were unable to follow the law. so christ died in the flesh he died for our sins. he overcame death and was resurrected. So like christ we die to sin and are born again in a new spirit. We follow the Holy Spirit, if we hear and obey the spirit we will be in God's will so don't have to worry about the law.

    "the glory which shall be revealed in and to us" does not just mean when we get to Heaven. It also means NOW. EVERY miracle we experience whether through wupernatural healings, salvation, answered prayers, etc. - that IS the Glory of God being revealed in, to and through us today!
  • Mike Powell on John 6:44 - 11 years ago
    It makes it very clear, that God chooses us, we do not choose Him. To be one's chosen or elect, means that someone else is doing the choosing or electing and it certainly is not us. God causes our will to line-up with His calling. He is sovereign and can choose whomever he wants to be His children, whether we like it or not or whether we feel it is fair or not. Romans 8:20 and 9:19-24 make it very clear.

    @R. D. Mattock,
    In the Old Testament we have the Covenant of Law. In the New Testament we have the Covenant of Grace. The Covenant of Grace is far better than the Law. Some hearing this may be thinking, youre teaching that we Christians are not supposed to keep the Law. We are not under the Law, but yes we do keep it. As a Christians, I dont break the Law. I walk after the Spirit and according to Paul, those who walk after the Spirit fulfil the Law ( Romans 8:1). If you think the 10 Commandments are so important, name them. We usually cant, we might get a few, but very seldom all of them, and almost never in order. The Ten Commandments are not all of the Jewish law. There are 615 separate commandments contained in those five books. To keep 614 of those is not enough. So anyone who thinks he can attain righteousness by keeping the Law has his work cut out for him. Get to work and start memorizing all 615. I'll stay with what John says, if we walk in the light as he is the light the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. I came out of one of those churches where men sit on one side of the church and the women sat on the other side. Could not ware make up, had to cover your head, and the Pastor decide who you could or could not marry. No I choose Grace, if it be of grace, it cannot be of works, if it be of works it cannot be of grace.
  • Grace on Acts 23 - 11 years ago
    Verse 11 is wonderfully re-assuring to know that God is near us all the time, so when we are working in His vineyard and doing His will. He has promised I will never leave you nor forsake you. See Gods promise to Moses. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee ( Deuteronomy 31:6). It is therefore important that we are sure we are always working according to Gods will for us, so that we can trust and resign to His care, even at such moments of distress or trial. That faith and communion with God is priceless. Paul is a good example of tenacious faith. That is what we need in order to complete this race triumphantly, and confirms Pauls statement and urging in Romans 8:35, For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Verses 38-39. God is more than able to deliver, and continues to workout His purpose.

    @Burgermouth,
    Telepathy is the claimed innate ability of humans and other creatures to communicate information from one mind to another, without the use of extra tools such as speech or body language. (Definition form internet). Though it is not really proved, telepathy is believed to be a transfer of information (feelings) between 2 individuals; both imperfect.
    Yet prayer is communication between man and his creator. That communication is precise and concise, as it focuses on main needs.
    And the Bible clearly states that prayer is at a certain level is inspired by God himself through the holy spirit that helps us to formulate (even) what mankind is not able to tell by itself. As it says in Romans 8:
    26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
    27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
    The perfection that this communication between Man and God comes with is far beyond so called telepathy, and is just matchless. Because the spirit of God tells us what to pray for and how to best utter (say) it.
    God bless you.

    @Bob,
    That kind of relationship is still against nature, it is just womens homosexuality. It is part of vile affections spoken of in Romans 1:26-27.
    Because natural sexuality is womans body that goes with mans which it is prepared to receive. It is lubricated and has natural antiseptic and detergent abilities to that end, and can result in procreation.
    All the rest is just sinful fabrication or excess that is sustained by sadist and self-mutilation spirits. No one can feel confortable in such practices without deception from spiritual conspiracy.
    Thank God deliverance is available in Christ Jesus. The blood of Jesus Christ is there to cleanse us from any iniquity, 1 John 1:4-10, Isaiah 1:18-19. And not only can our sins be forgiven, but also and mainly, God is able to set us free from such possessions if we are meek and humble to His will. No matter how far weve gone in such practices, Psalms 146:8 says The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:. Being blind or bowed here not only applies to physical aspects of life, but also and mainly to the spiritual ones; levels of sin when right becomes bad and bad good. Because the mind becomes blind, unable to perceive the truth, or bowed, just abnormal. God is able to set us free from such.
    But we first need to get born again of the spirit of God, then God can do the job in us in Christ Jesus, as the word says in Romans 8:11, But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
    The spirit of God dwelling is us is intended to do any pending work in our body and mind, if we can just keep stirring it up in our daily life, 2 Timothy 1:6.
    God bless you.

  • DonToth on Ecclesiastes 9:11 - 11 years ago
    To some, God made a puzzling statement when He wrote that "time and chance happen to them all" ( Ecclesiastes 9:11). We recently encountered some who believe this means that, sometimes, bad things happen for no real reason. This seems to be a position of too much convenience. This position also avoids the diligent study that could reveal what God wants us to know. It bothers us that this position provides an advantage, without realizing it, to those who believe contradictions exist in the Bible. Bad things certainly happen. But it would be completely out of character for the same God who does not forget not even a sparrow, and who assures us that we are so much more valuable to Him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows ( Luke 12:6-7 ESV). Either we are valuable to God, and all that it entails, or we are not. Yet we are to believe God allows anything to happen without a reason. Think about the implications of something happening without any reason. It means one of two things: either God wasn't paying attention or didn't care. That's like calling the Almighty either incompetent or apathetic. We know that neither is true. Consider the following. God is all-seeing, The Lord looks down from heaven; He sees all the children of man from where He sits enthroned, He looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, He who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds ( Psalm 33:13-15 ESV) Either God is all seeing or He is not and we must deal with the implications that that brings. God is never-sleeping. He will not let your foot be moved He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep ( Psalm 121:3-4 ESV). Either God is not awake or He is awake and we must deal with all that that means. God cares deeply about His people. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord ( Romans 8:38-39 ESV). Either we accept what Gods deep caring for us means or we do not. This potentially harmful position must be examined. So we must examine the alternativethat, while God does not directly cause evil, He knowingly allows it to happen. Because humanity has elected to follow its own way instead of God's, "And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which ought not be done. They were filled with all unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are filled with envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness, They are gossips, slanders, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boasters, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless ( Romans 1:28-31 ESV). God has, in essence, taken a step back from the world when it says it doesn't want Him around. He is allowing its inhabitants to see the result of a life without Him. That result is, from a human perspective, time and chance. Let us repeat, for emphasis: It is from a human perspective that God is not in control, not in His sound reality. From our earthly, secular and imperfect way of seeing things, random chance has its way, against the plan of God. It is not holy, spiritual or perfect to hold the position that things happen without reason. Perhaps you know someone battling a life threatening medical problem. First it is not necessary or essential for us to know the mind of God in this unfortunate situation. Second, it remains true that God can and does provide the avenue of prayer for him/her and all of us around him/her to seek the strength this person and those around them need to continue in grace and righteousness without doubting God. Third, we must not attribute to God what we have no evidence He did. When the elderly die not of disease, but simply the body God meant to be temporary finishes it use, according to the time and will of God. Many people say, hopefully in ignorance, God took Grandmother. God in reality simply allowed her soul to rest in Abrahams bosom after the body served its purpose. This assumes that she was faithful regardless of how loved she was. Being loved by others is no replacement for obeying Gods plan for our salvation. Though God has not lost the ability to restrain Satan and his demons at will, humanity has forfeited God's protection by turning its collective back on Him. As a result, "Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge; but time and chance happen to them all" ( Ecclesiastes 9:11). Another reason, that bad things happen, is the result of humanity's choices; as a result of sin and forsaking God. But none of them happen accidentally or apart from God's will. As it is written in the Psalms, "Behold the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His steadfast love" ( Psalm 33:18 ESV). That is a promise that those who hold that things happen without reason should consider. Everything in life, no matter how minute, occurs for a reason. Nothing, however bad it may seem can justify randomness outside of the will of God. "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" ( 1 Corinthians 10:13b ESV). "Behold the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it can not save, or His ear dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you so that he does not hear" ( Isaiah 59:1-2 ESV)."And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" ( Romans 8:28 ESV).

    Well believe or not but after 32 years, the devil had me thinking I went too far and father God, Jesus, and the holy spirit did not want me know more. It was a bad feeling that tends to show you how long you have been with Jesus. The devil hates it, but I come to this bible and nothing can keep me from the love of the father God, Jesus and holy spirit. God bless all.

    On verse 14, now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. Its important to know who we are in Christ. We have been given the mind of Christ and have been made partakers of His divine nature. We are more than conquerors in Him, Romans 8:37. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Philippians 4:13.

    "He will take you out of the birds net, and keep you safe from wasting disease" This means God Almighty will take away all the diseases from my body, this is confirmed more in the New Testament; where Ephesians 5:30 tells us "we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones". This means that the life of Christ is manifested through our bodies. Christ literally lives in you! He dwells in your spirit and expresses Himself through your physical body. Hes alive in you. This is why sickness, disease, and weakness ought not come into, let alone thrive in your physical body. Youre the habitation of Christ, and the Bible says if Christ is in you, no infirmity can ravage your body, because the Spirit that lives in you vitalizes your physical body ( Romans 8:10-11). "Amen" in my Life, and everyone else who confesses that Jesus Christ is lord and Savior of our souls.

    Hi! I have made some terrible mistakes and bad choices in my life as a Christian that have put me in a spot and location that I don't want to be in. If I just trust God and thank Him and praise Him, then I will still come out on top and Romans 8:28 will apply to my life, because of the things I learned from my mistakes and bad choices, Romans 8:29. Please comment on this! Thanks and God Bless You! Ove

    When referencing God, the context of the verse written above it is inappropriate referencing format (him, he, or his) in lower case letters. As it should be written direct from the King James Version Bible to identify any scripture that extends God's reference all (Him, He, or His) is to be capitalized. I suggest strongly that whom you have to proof read written content, Get It Right for God!

    Even after salvation and being filled with the Holy Spirit, we still have a choice in everything we do whether or not we will follow God and allow His Spirit to lead us. You will never lose your salvation, but you can allow yourself to lose sight of God and fall off the path He has paved. We are still in the battle against Satan everyday and the Word of God is our sword. Pick it up and know how to use it (read, study, and pray). The greatest mercy of His love is that He will always be here for us no matter how far we stray.

  • Timothy Wayne George on Romans 8:35 - 12 years ago
    What can separate us from the love of God? Nothing or no one can separate us from the love of God. It is Christ who died, yes and is risen, and seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. Salvation is up to you to accept or reject. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved. Jesus came to save us from the law of sin, and death. The Spirit of God confirms with our spirit that we are the children of God. There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but according to the Spirit of life. Jesus said because I live, you shall live also. Don't believe the devil's lie, but hold on to God's unchanging hand. His everlasting arms are there holding us up to whatever peril He allows us to go through. We are more than victorious in Christ Jesus our Lord.
