The Twelve Disiples thought that the blind man's parents sins because of his blindness. Sometimes we need to slow down and wait for the Lord's answer, before judging.
John 9:1-5
1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
Today, Jesus Christ is not walking the earth in the flesh, Jesus Christ is in the Third Heaven sitting next to the Father.
Romans 8:34
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at therighthandofGod, who also maketh intercession for us.
God gave the Holy Spirit to the Twelve Disiples and then it stayed with the Gentiles.
John 14:26
But theComforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Israel is blind to the gospel of grace as a nation, but when the Gentiles fill the body of Christ, God will open there hearts and they will be able to see again.
Romans 11:25
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of theGentilesbe come in.
The Christians get the benefit from the Abraham's God, Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:17
And if children, thenheirs;heirsof God, and joint-heirswith Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
If it wasn't for the gospel of grace in Christ Jesus, the woman would not have the freedom liberty that they have now.
Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
We are Adopted into the family of God because of Abraham's faith and we are bless to receive what comes out of it. America is the strongest nation in the world for it.
Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, andheirsaccording to the promise.
Now we have the gospel of grace that is simple to receive with no works, it's a gift from God in Heaven.
Romans 6:23
For thewagesofsinis death; but the giftofGod is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. ( James 3:17).
See Colossians 3:2 in regard to the mind of Christ along with Romans 8:16.
The unbeliever will go through life much as Solomon describes it in following animal type passions; and dying much in the same way ( Ecclesiastes 3:19). Nonetheless we are differed from animals as we have some concept of "eternity in our hearts" ( Ecclesiastes 3:11) and the believer as these verses show have the true light from God which guides the now living spiritual man to direct their actions.
Let us go through a few examples that are commonly seen which are NOT assurances of salvation
I can illustrate my point through a poem; hopefully not flagged but I think it better brings some of these concepts home.
I come from a native tongue not from some ragged slum (ok not the best rhyme) (racist)
I'm the pride and joy of my family 5th generation with my name on the tombstone (pride)
Outside our private home. (respecter of persons)
We made something of ourselves in this world; a grand reputation (guilt by association with family pride)
Put the fear of God in those heathen and reaped the harvest of our emancipation (superiority complex; conquest mindset)
I've got more titles than many famous statesmen (again pride in status making importance of man made titles like Pharisees)
In my heritage there are Bishops; Deacons and Knights of persuasion
And my endless good works are proof of my salvation. (the clincher; good works EARN our way into heaven)
How about them apples? Ok I seriously hope that everyone monitoring this page will bear with me; as I extract my pertinent meanings from this little deviation from the norm...as a little damage control I did a preemptive parenthetical commentary to point out the faults of this worldly mindset).
Stuart Bird, God love us so much that He gave us His Son , Jesus Christ and it didn't cost us anything.
May God bless you and you're family.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able toseparateus from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
To say I love God, is to say I believe the gospel of grace in Christ Jesus.
Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed ofAbraham? so am I.

Now toAbrahamand his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
I truly believe that Jesus Christ is the first true Jew.
2 Timothy 2:8
Remember that JesusChristoftheseedofDavid was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
Romans 9:27
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
The first covenant that will run through Israel.
Genesis 15:18
In the same day theLordmade acovenantwith Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Some would say, " here it is, we are Spirit Jews and inherit all of Israel's covenants
.
Romans 8:17
And if children, thenheirs;heirsof God, and joint-heirswith Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, andheirsaccording to the promise.
"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, AND IN YOU ALL.
It reasonable to say this is the Holyspirit by which we are Identified with the Lord by way of Christ death, burial and ressurection.
Also, the Holy Spirit is God's spirit.
The Holyspirit is Identified as "HE" not "IT"
1 John 4:4.
Romans 8:10-11 ect..
He's also called a "Quickening spirit"
1 Corinthians 15:45 "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
NOTE; "was made" is in italics, meaning it was added. It should read, "the last Adam a quickening spirit. This refers to Jesus. He wasn't made a quickening spirit.
Was Christ's spirit in existence before he took on flesh? Before we answer this we must take in consideration there is "one Spirit" and the Spirit gives life! He was never born!
The Spirit of Christ is the same Spirit of God.
Romans 8:9 reads "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that THE SPIRIT OF GOD DWELL IN YOU. NOW IF ANY MAN HAVE NOT THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST, HE IS NONE OF HIS.
1 Peter 1:10-11 says it was Christ Spirit that was in the OT Prophet's that testified of the suffering of Christ.
"Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
Searching what, or what manner of time THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
I believe here is a clear picture of the Father, Son and Holyspirit as one and the pre existence of the triune God.
Thanks, brother, I'm not the best at putting on paper my understanding. I know some Scriptures refer to the Holy Spirit as he, but the Spirit is the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God dwells in us, Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 3:16 and, more. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that does the work of God, Romans 15:19, Jesus did the miracles by the Holy Spirit, Matthew 12:28, Luke 4:18, Acts 10:38, Hebrews 2:4.
Jesus said the words He spoke were not His words but the Fathers and God did the works, this was done by the Holy Spirit through Jesus. John 14:10. Jesus said the Holy Spirit/Comforter proceedeth from the Father John 15:26, Jesus said the Holy Ghost will not speak of himself but what he is told, so the Holy Spirit is under the direction of the Father and Jesus, John 16:13.
All the salutations are from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is not in any salutations. In Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb is the temple of it. No Holy Spirit, what I see in Scripture is the Holy Spirit is the conduit that God works through and now Jesus as well.
I hope this gives you enough info to see how I see the Holy Spirit and I know that is not what many believe. I do not want to offend and I hope I don't, but this is what I see in Scripture. I do not see the Holy Spirit as a person but as the power of God that surrounds this earth by which God and Jesus dwell in us to communicate, guide, and comfort us.
How do we get the Holy Spirit ? By believing the gospel only and the Holy Spirit will seal us .
Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heardtheword of truth, thegospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye weresealedwiththatholySpiritof promise,

Man will never know God without the Holy Spirit.

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Now that I'm saved by believing the gospel of grace, I stay in the word for growth and strength in the Holy Spirit.

Ray, in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
To receive the whole armour of God, you must be saved by believing the gospel of grace.
Lord Jesus I continue to ask for strong protection for my family and I, esp. the little one (I plead the blood of Jesus over us and ask for a wall of Holy Spirit fire around each of us and your mighty warrior angels to surround us according to Ps 91, Ps. 34:7, Zech. 2:5, Isaiah 54:17, Isaiah 59:19, Ps3:3, 2 Thess. 3:2-3, Jeremiah 15:20-21, Romans 8:31) and I ask for salvation (Your arm is not too short to save Lord. We are adopted to the family of God. The minute we get save, we are adopted in the family of God
We do not become Jews, we will have the blood of God through the Spirit.
1. Let's start in Genesis, God said it will start with the seed of the woman.
Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thyseedand herseed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Galatians 4:4
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of awoman, made under the law,

2. Jesus Christ's father is God in Heaven. The Father carries the identity of the child. Marry carried the identity of Jesus Christ through the flesh by the seed of Daved in the woman in Genesis.
Matthew 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his motherMarywas espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
3. We get adopted the minute we believe the finished work of the cross that Apostle Paul calls my gospel. We are circumcised in the family of God.

In whom also ye arecircumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Ray, in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 the devil hates theses verses , please put them in your heart
No man can keep the law for righteousness and for life everlasting, it condemned us, it show us how sinful we are.
Romans 8:3
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
When Christ Jesus died on the cross, He nailed the law on the cross, now we have the Holy Spirit to guide us in truth and righteousness.
Romans 10:4
For Christ is the end of thelawfor righteousness to every one that believeth.
We are justified by believing the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in faith.
Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Following the law doesn't make us righteousness, it condemns us, because of our sins.
Galatians 2:21
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain
When a average church goer reads this verse ( Romans 6:14 ) they would think they have licence to sin, but they forget that when we are save by believing the gospel ( 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 ) , then we received the Holy Spirit that always reminds us of our sins.
Romans 6:14
"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."
The Holy Spirit guides us through life and teaches us ...
1 Corinthians 2:13

Hello Timmywynne. There are many Scriptures that point to the Triune Nature of God, and specifically, that Jesus Christ & the Holy Spirit are revealed to us from the very Being of God the Father. When we think of the Trinity, we know we won't find that word in the Bible, as it is purely a descriptive word of what the Bible declares to be the fullness of God's Being. So to the verses you seek, and you will need to read them fully in your Bible.
Of Jesus Christ: Isaiah 9:6,7 (an Old Testament Prophecy); Micah 5:2 & John 1:1-14 (from everlasting); Matthew 1:22,23; Mark 2:5-7; John 8:56-58; John 16: 27,28; John 17:4,5; John 20:27,28; Philippians 2:5-7; Colossians 1:15-17; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16; Titus 3:13; Hebrews 1:1-3; Hebrews 1:8-10; 1 John 5:7; 1 John 5:20.
Of the Holy Spirit: Matthew 12:31; Luke 1:34,35; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7-11; Acts 5:3; Acts 8:29; Acts 13:4; Romans 8:14; Romans 8:26,27; 1 Corinthians 2:10-14; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 6:19; 1 Corinthians 12:11; Ephesians 4:30; Hebrews 10:29; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 John 5:6.
The above are a few Scriptures that point to the deity of Jesus Christ & God's Spirit: all showing that they don't work independently from God, but have been sent out from God, from God's Being, to accomplish His Purposes in the world. And we know that Jesus, as the Word of God clothed with humanity, is the very expression of God to the world ( John 14:9; 1 Timothy 3:16; 1 John 4:2). Hope these will help you in your study of this very important doctrine. Blessings.
Before being regenerated we obey our sinful nature, which we are slaves to and we disobey God, who we do not wish please nor can we seek Him, desire Him, call on Him, or do any righteous act while aliened from God as His enemy and our stubborn resistance to believe Him, though we know He exists, as He has revealed Himself to humanity. Humans cannot please God for every aspect of themselves that contributes to their decisions, even to do good to others, is tainted by sin. Any actions we may consider to be righteous can never erase any of our own sin nor can we be reconciled to God by our own acts of righteousness. Romans 9:32 says that humans try to establish their own righteousness before God by obeying the law, but God does not accept any of it. This is because, as James 1:2 says, that if one obeys all of the law except one time disobeying one requirement of the law that person is guilty of breaking all of the law as far as God is concerned.
So, then, every one of us are guilty of all the law before God because we resist Him in our ways, words and work to circumvent His authority and sovereignty continually. We are at enmity to God and will not submit to His rule and reign in our lives and hearts, nor can unregenerate flesh do so. ( Romans 8:7)
Fallen humans are without God, without hope, without righteousness, without redemption, without the ability to contribute anything towards their salvation. Fallen humans are lost, worthless to God, alienated from Him, separated from Him, unable to come to Him unless God chooses a person to be saved by election, by God's sovereign choice. ( Romans 9:16)
Scripture makes clear in so many passages that unregenerated cannot, due to lack of ability, and will not, due to preferring sin to obedience, effect a remedy their fallen state before God. It is a sovereign free act of God that saves anyone. We cannot compel God to save us, neither can we choose Him in our unredeemed state.
!DLHenri, don't feel bad about how to pray. Just talk to the Father in Heaven and thank him for Jesus Christ and all the goods things He has done for you , then tell the Father in Heaven about your troubles and needs . He knows your heart and will hear your prayers. Just end it with " In Jesus Christ name Amen " .
To get strength and instructions, please read Romans through Philemon for doctrine and pray continually everyday . God is good and will help us .
Here's a verse that will remind you that the Holy Spirit will help you pray to the Father in Heaven.
Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we shouldprayfor as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Indeed brother Richard, I agree with what you have shared with us here. And just to pick up on one pertinent point you shared in relation to the Communion, "whether it is Baptism; Communion or "fellowship of the saints" when two or more are gathered together He is present".
My understanding of Matthew 18:20 hinges on the fact that post-resurrection & ascension, Christ is now seated at the right Hand of the Father ( Mark 16:19; Acts 2:23; Romans 8:34; and many other refs). So, what Jesus spoke of at that time to His disciples, would certainly mean that His Presence amongst them after He left for Heaven, would be by His Spirit Whom they would receive. As far as I'm aware, the physical Jesus will not be seen again until the translation of the saints, or by those with variant beliefs, at His Coming for war, judgement & rule on the Earth.
Now, whether those who subscribe to transubstantiation would apply Matthew 18:20 to bolster their belief or not, I can't tell; though it seems that they could do so, as the verse could support that the physical presence of Jesus could be found in the elements at the 'Eucharist'. But is that what Jesus intended His followers to believe & practise? Whether in corporate prayer, at the Lord's Table, or even in the Eucharist (as practised by some), that His Presence in Body (& Blood) is there (mystically or otherwise), or whether it is His Spirit Who ministers to us in those seasons & right through the course of a believer's life? That if we 'eat or drink unworthily bringing on damnation', the Spirit of Christ is disgraced & abhorred by such hypocritical, sinful participation - which translates of course, as directly aimed at Jesus & His Father.
We are commanded to "grieve not the Holy Spirit of God", for if we do, then the Godhead is dishonored & shamed. It is the Spirit Who broods over our worship, teaching, & communion participation testing or convicting our hearts; and this is how I see the Presence of Christ at the Lord's Table.
Woe, since your responses are scattered in this thread, I will refer to them individually rather than collectively.
We again refer to Matthew 5:17-20. The questions we must ask when reading this passage (or, any passage of Scripture) is, 'what is being referred to here?' Verse 17: 'Law & the Prophets'. Jesus is referring to what we understand is the breakdown of the Tanakh, namely, the Torah (the Law - Pentateuch), the Nevi'im (the Prophetical Books), and the Ketuvim (the Writings - others). Here, Jesus speaks only of the Torah & Nevi'im, and these He would not destroy (nor will they ever be destroyed), until all is fulfilled by Him. If you agree to this understanding, then we have a basis to proceed.
The Law that Jesus referred to, was not simply the Ten Commandments, but all the Law of God given to Israel, just as 'the Prophets' could not be restricted to certain prophetical books but to all that was given to Israel for their present & future state. If we restrict the Law to the Decalogue only, then we are presuming that this was of much greater worth than the other Laws given by God. Whereas, the Decalogue was a brief snapshot given to a people, once under the rigors of slavery & hardship, who had all but forgotten the Living God Who had never forgotten them. The Decalogue was a reminder to them of God's essential requirements for His people as they made their way to idolatrous Canaan, also showing to them that the Law could not ever bring about the desired outcome for holy living, simply because sinful flesh can never fulfil what that Law demanded (being "weak through the flesh"); that the Law should have pointed to them of their need of a coming Savior, to condemn sin in the flesh, providing an escape from a Law that only entrapped the soul, not giving life (see Romans 8:3,4). Onto Page 2.

" Jesus Christ is Father and the Son same language you can understand is God for us to be heirs to all the world. To believe you can do and follow Jesus and become what your expected to be the truth of God Romans 8:2 KJV, 1 Corinthians 7:22 KJV. This is the life to live also exhibited. It is used in
discipleship- to show the Holy bible is life
saints/ citizens- free from sin Galatians 5:1 KJV, liability, set free from thraldom, ransom Mark 10:45 KJV, evil ,captivity of Satan.
Freedom from the laws, rules, thraldom that are not of God moral and obedience to it. You are titled to freedom to the house of God and his supper. A example of analogy used family of God Himself.
Ways you can be free from sin are to listen to God's voice and word to obey and follow " do it" (speaking, actions, attention of communications)
Examples of people in the holy bible that made themselves free in God you can read and follow are Romans 1:1, 2 Peter 1:1, Revelation 1:1 .
Matthew 5:18,19. Jesus was speaking about obedience to the whole Law, not to what the Pharisees taught that some Laws were less important to others. And as those under the Law, Jesus taught that the whole Law was current until "all be fulfilled" (i.e. only Jesus could keep the Law perfectly & through His death & resurrection, fulfilled the Law, removed the curse, by being made a curse on our behalf). Once that curse that the Law brought was removed by His death, we are no longer under the Law which only brought death, but now receive the blessing of Abraham, receiving God's Promises to us, not by the keeping the Law, but by obedience to the Spirit by the exercise of faith ( Galatians 3:10-14, also Romans 8:2-4).
Yes, Jesus' death fulfilled all the sacrifices that Israel had to do year-by-year, and these sacrifices looked forward to God's Perfect once-for-all Sacrifice. But only by Jesus' death could the New Covenant be ushered in, the Old had to be abolished, or else the New could not take effect (you can't have two Covenants operating simultaneously). And the Old Covenant most certainly included the Ten Commandments & every Law that was given to Israel. Those who are in Christ no longer abide by a Law that only had condemnation & death as its end, but now we can live according to the ministry of the Holy Spirit Who gives Life & Power to know & abide by all of God's Commandments.
Brother Giannis. Always glad to hear from you & receive your understanding of the Word of God. This subject of election I have temporarily laid aside, as I await GiGi's commentary on it specifically, as she continues with her subject of God's Attributes/Character which I've appreciated very much.
But since you've raised it here, and cited Romans 9:9-16 in respect of Esau & Jacob, I also referred to this Scripture in my response as you've seen. My emphasis was on the fact that God's Sovereignty in Election in this case was based wholly on His choosing the descendency of Israel, His chosen people, and NOT for the salvation of their souls: each one in Israel, along with Isaac, Jacob, Esau & all of Israel, were still responsible before God for their faith, obedience, & devotion. So, there would be many in Israel, then & now, who would be rejected by God for salvation in spite of their Election, receiving the Law & Promises. Indeed, "not all Israel which are of Israel" ( Romans 9:4-6).
I understand from what you've shared here, that you too believe in the "foreknowledge of God" in His election of those to be saved. Romans 8:29,30 and 1 Peter 1:2 particularly reveal this Truth. Now, I realize that some have 'reinterpreted' 'Foreknowledge' (Gk. prognosis) to be in relation to His Sovereign Plan without any factor affecting it (whether from man or God Himself): i.e. He simply chooses & it happens. Whereas, I believe, and please correct me if I'm mistaken, that 'Foreknowledge' in the New Testament refers to the prior knowledge of God, particularly seen in His Omniscience and Sovereign Plan. It implies God's prior knowledge of all events, all individuals, of all time, and quite often in the context of His redemptive purposes for mankind. This term is used to express the concept that God, in His infinite Wisdom, knows all things before they happen and has a predetermined plan for creation and salvation according to that knowledge. I believe in God's word scriptures holy bible having faith Jesus Christ death, burial, and his resurrection after the third day gives me joy Romans 8:2 to recieve and do the will of God.

Ray, in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
The free gift of the gospel of grace.
More to come I hope
May God bless you and you're family.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able toseparateus from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
To say I love God, is to say I believe the gospel of grace in Christ Jesus.
May God bless you and you're family in Christ.

The gospel of grace.
Apostle Paul is a Jew in the flesh.
2 Corinthians 11:22
Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed ofAbraham? so am I.
Because of Abraham, we received the blessings through Jesus Christ of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:14
That the blessing ofAbrahammight come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
We are bless to receive blessings of being Abraham's seed .
Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are yeAbraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Now Jesus Christ is made of the seed of David in the flesh.
Romans 1:3
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of theseedof David according to the flesh;
Galatians 3:16
Now toAbrahamand his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
I truly believe that Jesus Christ is the first true Jew.
2 Timothy 2:8

Ray in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
God bless,
RLW

Apostle Paul was attacked by Satan from all angles and still Paul spread the gospel throughout the whole world.

No one can take away our love from God, not even Satan.
Romans 8:38-39
38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Blessings.
Ephesians 1:3-11
Romans 8:28-30
Pt. 5
See Pt. 6
