God's word is holy god's word is perfect and god's word is truth all glory and praise and honor to god the father and jesus christ god's precious son and the holy holy holy blood of jesus christ and to the precious precious holy spirit and god's kind holy word
Psalm 41. This passage of scripture; without much question refers to David's late stage illness as shown in 1 Kings 1:1-4. There are statements about God preserving those physically in their illnesses who consider the poor (verse 1). This may not be something that we consider today; but it is worth noting in places such as the USA that have up until now been affluent compared with much of the world.
Once again as I have established a couple times with previous Psalms it would appear that David's state was due to sinful actions earlier (v. 4). As to any specific sexually transmitted disease I won't speculate. The passage following in verses 5 through 8 do show how his enemies sought out his death; and certainly that could have been due to the many wives and or concubines that David maintained; and those relations from other nations that by default would have been intertwined in these personal affairs. Secondary to this but also related is the rivalry from Absolom and other enemies that God Himself promised due to David's sin as seen in 2 Samuel 12. He was forgiven but there were consequences to his actions.
Verse 9 certainly is a Messianic prophecy; albeit fits in with David's situation (although it is hard to tell WHO exactly it would have referred to in his case).
The rest of the Psalm once again could have application to David and at least in a general sense to Christ in regard to victory over His enemies; and favor with God as well as His place as established in heaven at the right hand of God. (verses 10-12). It finally ends with the eternal nature of God and His blessedness.
It probably doesn't need repeating at this point how the same themes here continue repeatedly; namely prophecies applicable to David and Christ; David's sufferings; trust in God's grace and trust in all His promises. The Hebrew phoenetic and poetic structure has to be delved into to be discovered; and the sound of the original songs sadly have not been preserved.
Wes gave a wise answer on Christmas. Exodus 23:8, Deuteronomy 16:19, Ecclesiastes 7:7, may The HOLY Spirit teach us. John 14:26
I love to celebrate Christmas, I really enjoy the lights, the focus on our Savior. The generosity in the season. Christmas is a time of year, people remember more their fellow man, needs & wants of others. Christmas time reminds us of the joys of giving & putting smiles on others faces, teaching by love & kindnesses. Surprising a person with anonymous unexpected gifts, giving hope to people in desperation, food, clothing, volunteering, etc. warms their hearts, body & soul & sometimes gives them hope for a better ' tomorrow '. Christmas is the time of year people are more willing to receive from a Christian.....
We as Believers have an open door at Christmas unlike any other time of the year, to show the World who Jesus is, who the Church is.
When we remember those most "forgotten by others" showing them, they are not forgotten by GOD, it's amazing how even those around them are affected.
This Christmas season we really have a moment to help comfort, our nations with love, giving hope through the WORD, to poor in spirit & helping heal wounds. There is much we can give this year, for those in need. I pray GOD lead us even now, to start the giving season early. Romans 6:23, 2Corinthians 1:4, Proverbs 15:23,
However there is other scripture to encourage that GOD is able to deliver: 2Peter 2:5-9, we are to be good soldiers, endure: 2Timothy 2:3, 2Timothy 4:5, 1Peter 2:19, Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13,
Matthew 24, Mark 13, Jesus explains specifically it's after the great tribulation He will gather together His elect.
Revelation 6:9-11, Revelation 2:11, Hebrews 11,
GOD's WORD is called a living word by many because of it's HIS amazing ability to be relevant today, prophetic & historical

Micha ya gotta realize Jesus shed his blood on the Cross to give us a Clean heart....A new heart and a new spirit....Has absolutely nothing to do with our literal feet....If any man be in Christ Jesus he is a New Creature.
Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world...Its our sins that defile us....As Jesus said its the things that come from the heart of a man that defiles him.
As Jesus said outta of the HEARTS ( OUR MINDS ) of a man proceeds all manner of evil.
But b/c of Psalms 41:39 An old friend (Judas ) that eats at my table has lifted up his HEEL Against me....Thus he washed their feet their heel....He cd not offend in any place till all was fulfilled including Psalms 41:9....He did every thing in parables and metaphors to hide it from the wise and prudent....And we see that there are still folks who think we are made clean by a literal foot washing....Making his blood of no effect....We cannot mix 2 Covenants....Calvary was a New Covenant in his blood making everybody clean....The thief on the Cross was made clean by hearing his Words...You are made clean by the words i have spoken unto you.....ok GBU Micha
No we don't need to wash any bodies feet....But Jesus wanted to show folks what his words does to our hearts....Satan had entered the heart of Judas to betray him....Not his feet but Jesus washed their feet....He was trying to show them what his Words does to our hearts.....An old friend who eats at my table has lifted up his Heel ( our hearts.) against me....But Judas neva did assault Jesus with his feet or Heel...Judas assualted Jesus with his heart....Its our hearts that defiles us as Jesus had said....Satan had entered the heart of Judas to betray him.....Thus when Jesus washed their feet it was a Hearts Washing....Its the things that came from the heart of a man that defiles him....Not our personal hygiene...Our feet or hands....Jesus had said to eat with unwashed hands defileth not a man...Its our hearts that defiles us....But Jesus did everything in metaphors trying to hide it....Everything was hid from the wise and prudent but revealed unto babes...The babes and sucklings he mentions.
......Jesus cd not wash their literal hearts or minds ...But b/c of what is written in Psalms 41:9...An OLD FRIEND that eats at my table has lifted up his HEEL against me....He washed their feet ( Heel )...To show them what the Word, His Blood does to our hearts and minds you are made clean by the Word i have spoken unto you....Jesus knew that all of his disciples had been water baptised but he still had to wash their feet....Which speaks volumes of a greater baptism coming of his Blood....That New COVENANT...As Jesus was the living Word made flesh and blood....That New Covenant in his blood that will make us all clean Internally...our hearts and minds....And we are gonna speak the cleansing word to anybody that needs spritual cleansing....We should plead the blood on everybody that needs spritual cleansing.....But we don't need to wash any bodies feet with h20 ....We need to wash their hearts....Giving them a new heart a new spirit....With his Words...The BLOOD..THE BOOK..GB
I feel that Biden is a puppet. I agree with GiGi that his desire was so strong, he would take the office at any cost. Seems his deal is he will be their puppet. I feel sorry for him, but he made the choice.
I think that Biden is an old, frail, easy manipulated politician who's desire to President was so strong that he made a deal before Super Tuesday that in exchange for being promoted as the presidential candidate he would answer to unelected people during his presidency. This is proving itself out before our very eyes. He is not "running the show" but came out of his basement after the election to make limited "face" appearances and minimal speaking (from a teleprompter) as the "duly elected president". It is really a farce and a shame. His presidency is a danger to our nation because people who are unelected are running our country.
But I would not call him evil. He is fallen, like all of us, and gave into a sinful scheme.
I agree that he should not be our president because it seems he is cognitively impaired and manipulated. He has made some statements recently that are dangerous and put our country vulnerable. We shall see how this works out. But in the meantime, it is wise for us to pray for him and our government officials as well as our country as a whole.
The Old Testament the promised of a Messiah, also known as Deliverer, Saviour, Savior. Many of the books were written about & pointing to Redemption, reconciliation to GOD. When we read & study we can even find hidden similarities in Christ Jesus & Old Testament Heros.
The New Testament was the written testimonials & witness of Jesus CHRIST revealed as that Messiah, Deliverer, SAVIOR etc.
Please read: John 18, John 19, then Isaiah 53, Psalms 22, Psalms 41:9-13, just a few examples.
God is a God that will never leave us nor forsake us, He gives us new mercies every morning. May God continue to bless you and let His light forever shine on you. Be blessed
Dear David , I am so sorry for your loss , please know that you are valued and cherished on this site , I too have lost more than one person in the last couple of years , we are heart broken because we miss their company and the comfort and affection that they brought us and we have to carry on in these awful kingdoms of men without them , God and Jesus are with you every second of every day , surrender yourself to them and allow their love to wash over you , they will keep your feet on the straight and narrow and bring you ever close to Them .Much sympathy and love in Christ .
May the Lord bless, keep & sustain you David in your earthly sojourn. You've certainly had a very sad & trying year & there is certainly no balm of comfort or healing available from any earthly storehouse. You've shown by your testimony here & from your other encouraging posts, that your joy & victory lies wholly in the Person of our Blessed God & Saviour. May you be strengthened day by day in the inner man, knowing the Lord's gracious Presence at every moment & at every turn in your life. 1 Corinthians 2:9.
There are many clear cut decisions we can make based on the Word of God. There are also many areas that God gives us principles to follow. The best thing is first to be saved by the Gospel of Christ. Then cultivate an intimate relationship with God, by knowing Him through His Word. Have a strong prayer life, and prayer partners to hold you accountable. Build relationships in the church with saved people you can trust. Lean and trust in the Lord God Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent.
Then as the Scripture says - wait on Him. I too am struggling with different issues in my life, however putting into play the above things have helped me greatly. Not as easy as writing it down. I'm 70yrs old. I took the covid shot about 7 months ago because I was traveling internationally, so I had no choice. I didn't want to take it; but if I didn't, I would not have been able travel by airplane. I've been blessed, I had no complications.
My wife passed away in late January 2021, then my sister passed away in June 2021. It's been very difficult: however, My God and Savior has been a high tower and great comfort to me and my children. Praise the Lord, I will see and be with them again based on God's Word.
Pastors and church leadership are imperfect sinners like anyone else. Some feel threatened, feel insecure, feel they need to justify their job position to others or to themselves, and sometimes make misguided decisions, and false assumptions.
I don't know the context of the Psalms 41 mention, because in itself there's both positive verses like verse 2, but others could be potentially interpreted as negative. If I were to guess I'd say that pastors may feel pressure to grow the church and is a measure of their job performance and they may feel insecure when someone (especially someone who has been an integral member) leaves, because they may take it personally and goes against their goals.
That being said, pastors leave churches too then rationalize it at the time. Most missionaries are transient and move around to build and encourage churches- not really rooted in one place too long on average. That's what Paul did. I see leaving as a positive thing- new opportunities to serve others, meet a new community and who knows what else God can use you for. To claim that people moving somehow automatically means it's leaving God's house sounds disingenuous and manipulative to me. But I've heard all kinds of logical fallacies used in God's name used to manipulate and cause others guilt. I think this is very wrong. Pastors are in a position of influence and I've unfortunately heard them abuse their power before.
So, I would not let 1 persons opinion and possible insecure comments adversely affect you. It's hard to hear things like that instead of words of appreciation after committing so long to one church.
I recently left the church, I have attended for many years, to attend the Church where my wife attends so that we may worship together. She had left the original Church for personal reasons and will not return. I did not talk with the Pastor about my leaving but did speak with the Head Deacon of the Church about this matter. On Sunday the Pastor mentioned my leaving, not by name, but did use the Psalm 41 passage as a reference. I am not his enemy but this is the impression I received from him with this reading. I am not leaving GOD'S house just moving on the way I feel the Lord is leading me to go. Appreciate your input.
I would respect your friend's belief and faith in our Lord. I feel the same way. If your friend has faith the size of a mustard seed and doesn't doubt God will protect her/him, nothing is impossible.
This can b a tough question ,in my life i have had a very serious illness and i did not hesitate 2 take the medical treatment offered ,i belive that all good things come from God and that he has given people the knowledge to cure and treat illnessess ,all through my treatment i prayed 2 God and asked him that i might continue 2 live ,i wasnt afraid 2 die i just didnt want 2 yet as i wanted 2 b with my loved ones longer ,i believe u should do what u believe is right 4 u ,if God wants u 2 continue living u will and if God wants u 2 die u will die ,we have 2 accept His decision and trust in His righteousness and mercy ,i thank God that He allowed and allows me 2 continue living .Please do what u think is right 4 u without worrying about it ,we r all always in His hands and there is no better place 4 us 2 b .
I hope that my reply will in some way help to answer your question. I can relate to your friend's belief system, as I too was once erroneously taught the same doctrine as a child. We were taught that going to the doctor for any reason showed a lack of faith and would ultimately result in being punished by God for our disobedience. I give thanks to God for opening my eyes years later and for giving me discernment to recognize false teachings.
To answer your question regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, and/or receiving any other medical treatment is against God's Will, I would go to scripture (KJV). Matthew 9:12 says "But when Jesus heard that, He said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick." In other words, Jesus was saying that those who are in good have no reason to go and see a physician. Another point that could be illustrated is the fact that the apostle Luke was a physician. We as Christians should always maintain our faith in God, whether it be to give us strength during times of weakness, or healing during times of sickness. God gave man the wisdom to become a doctor in order to help those who are sick. Maintaining our faith is always essential to our Christian journey. When we go to the doctor for medical advice or treatment, we put not our trust solely in their knowledge, but rather put our trust in the Lord that He will give the doctor wisdom and guidance to treat us in a manner that will result in better health.
I am a believer in God and read from the king's Jame bible. I would like to no do you think God dosen't want us to take the convid19 vaccination. I'm 73 & i took it but I have a friend who has all kinds of sickness but will not take it because she believe God wants her to trust his power to heal her
My question is there any where in the bible I can tell her to read to insure her that by taking the vaccine dosen't weaken her belief in God
Judas Iscariot betrayal of Jesus - In Reply on Acts 2 - 4 years ago
Judas betrayal of Jesus foretold
Psalms 41:9 - Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
Wesley's Notes for Psalms 41:9
Yea - These words were literally fulfilled in David,
and yet the Holy Ghost looked farther in them, even to Christ and Judas Iscariot, in whom they received a fuller accomplishment. Lift up - A phrase implying injury, joined with insolency and contempt; taken from an unruly horse, which kicks at him that owns and feeds him.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. ( Hebrews 2:9-12)
