First you must agree with God about your sin:

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool ( Isaiah 1:18).

Then your sin must be paid for.

You have no way to pay the penalty.

The Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ , willingly submitted his sinless body and blood to die on the cross to pay the price to deliver sinners from sin, death, and Hell (see Romans 3:24-28).

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved ( Acts 16:31).

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy ( Proverbs 28:13)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness ( 1 John 1:9).

Ephesians 4:18 - Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

Matthew 13:14-15 - And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall NOT PERCEIVE.

Proverbs 28:13-14 - He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them, shall have mercy.

Hebrews 3:8 - Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Mark 8:17 - And when Jesus knew [it], he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?

Exodus 9:12 - And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.

Exodus 7:3 - And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

Jeremiah 17:9 - The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

John 12:48 - He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Mishael : It takes Spiritual Warfare to free a person to hear Gods Word. See sermons on YouTube, about that. See Ephesians 6. Don't let the devil scare you. He knows Jesus stripped him of his authority to steal souls. Watch some Charles Capps videos too so you will understand your authority through the Blood of Jesus.

Totally supports your giving commments. Whatever a child of God does ,it must be done unto the Lord. If giving, the

    person must give cheerfully. Blessings.

I love looking at scriptures that gives us insight into the personality of our God. Jehovah God encourages us to be generous as he is generous with us. In Satan's system, some people have a lot and some people have not enough. However, if those who have, give generously to those who are "poor" then, it brings out that our repayment comes from God himself and he will not allow us to lack anything. The best repayment comes from God who can gives us anything we desire according to his will. So, this motivates me to be generous as my circumstances allow. I can't support everyone, but I can try to be more generous with my time, energy, and even finances as God allows it.

If you hide your sins you will not succeed. If you confess your sins and reject them you will receive mercy.

New century version of proverbs 28:21 says it is not good for a judge to take sides or show special favoritism , but some will sin for only a piece of bread...

YOU CAN NOT HIDE YOUR SIN FROM THE LORD. HE KNOWS WHO AND WHAT YOU ARE INSIDE AND OUT. WE CAN HIDE WHO WE REALLY ARE FROM OTHER PEOPLE AND PRETEND TO HAVE A REAL SALVATION BUT, NOT THE LORD. THIS SIMPLY MEANS STOP PRETENDING TO BE CHRISTIAN AND GET REAL WITH IT. SADLY MOST SELF PROFESSED OR SO CALLED CHRISTIANS ARE PRETENDING AND JUST PLAYING CHURCH. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Will; When we are convicted of sin; if we are honest and pay attention to our conscience, if we fear God and are sorry for our sins and repent of them; then the Lord will have mercy and cleanse us from all our sins, and give us a new chance at life. But if we harden our hearts and callous over our conscience toward God, and ignore the warnings and conviction, then there is no forgiveness of sins.

Will: One who hides his sin acts like he's doing nothing wrong.

Verse 5~If we seek Jehovah God will can understand everything that is needed to please him. He will help us in our understanding.

"Whoso walks uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. He that tills his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that follows after vain persons shall have poverty enough." Walking and working like a man made in the image of God and after God's own heart, doesn't allow deviation from what is right and good; but cultivates and works to produce by God's Word.
  • A disciple on Proverbs 28 - 6 years ago
"Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things." Jesus said that He has many things to say to us, but that we cannot bear them just yet; that is, until we receive the Holy Spirit, who shall show us all things and guide us into all truth. The only one who wants men to stay stupid and uncapable, is the devil, who lusts after the throne of God, and to kill us.
  • Abednego on Proverbs 28 - 6 years ago
"A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent." v20. I love this verse because it motivates God's children to be faithful. Secondly, it's an advice to especially young people not to be hasty to be rich. Anyone who makes money hastily would have to cut corners.

It was as a result of their cry and repentance that God sent Gideon to deliver Israel from the hand of the midianites. Sin separate us from God, proverbs 28:1 said the righteous is as bold as a lion. Righteousness is what gives us boldness to confront our enemies.

Frances; You misread it! The Scripture reads: "To have respect OF persons (not, 'for' persons) is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress." Respect of persons means you favor one over another; respect for persons means you treat them with dignity. James chapter 2 shows very well what "respect of persons" means; and further likens it to murder to despise and mistreat the poor.

Truely when Yu say He is my shepherd I shall not want.We spend too much time shouting to the devil and some saying back to sender.Yet being righteous makes us say The Lord is my refugee and fortress. Proverbs 28:1 says one's righteousness makes Yu as bold as a Lion but sinners fear and run away from nobody.

To be bold is not what we think : To be bold is to be strong in God's word in the face of adversity : Not to be bold in the face of people that are our apponet : But to do as God leads , If we are in unbelief we will flee as the wicked !!

The one who turns away from listening to God but then tries to offer a prayer to God is something detestable to Him as verse 9 shows.
  • Jerry on Proverbs 28 - 8 years ago
V1, is one of my favorite verses in the Bible, i do not have to fear, because i know that I am doing that which is right in the eyes of God and man, and my conscience is clear, I can then be bold as a lion and make my stand for that which is right.
