Listen People This walk with God Meaning relationship is not about wine, or the bad decisions That we make: Jesus made it easy for us, what had seem to be what God wants us to do. And all falls under are you ready for this LOVE! Love is the only goal in our lives for us to obtain in our hearts Love for God first, then everyone else, especially our enemies.... 1 Corithians 13:1-13, is something that we are suppose to be reading, studing, and meditating on everyday, that we know which directions we are headed...Nothing else matters but Love for if you Love truly, or even try going after truly loving, then will everything that is not Godly risen out of you: You will stop desiring to do anything that is not pleasing to God......God has already covered our sin, with Jesus Christ so now there is nothing you can or cannot do to gain or lose your salvation except deny that Jesus is Lord and savior, and not believe that he suffered with pain and agony till death for the payment of everyone who believes that he did it for our sins Past or present. Just simply for Love, Which is now or job!

Listen to Gods words. I have suffered extreme pain and slander because I listened to flattering lips from professing so-called Christians. I didn 't discern that they were gossipers talebearers and I got bit by them. God is trying to protect you. Those who make a habit of bringing up others personal business to you, avoid them!! Don 't be pulled in by it! Don 't join them! They are only interested in gaining your trust and they are masters at fake nice , so that they can get your personal information and use it against you and slander your name to others. They have a sick need to talk about others who are not included in the conversations meddlers and busybodies . You will notice they are always the one who initiate bringing someone else 's personal business into your conversations, with pretend concern for that person. Don 't bite the bait, don 't give them your personal business and tell them that you don 't want to know the personal business of others without them present to defend themselves. God is trying to save you from pain and from joining in their habitual sin. Listen to God and avoid them. They are not walking in love for the brethren. May God protect and bless you. In Jesus name. AMEN

Drinking wine is not sinful if done in moderation. Jesus Christ drank wine. The first miracle that He performed was turning water into wine at the wedding. We wouldn 't dare say that He didn 't enter the kingdom of heaven. He sits at the right hand of the Father. Anything in excess can be harmful, but not if done in moderation. There 's a time for everything. If you know your wanting to pray in the evening and early morning then you refrain too close to your intended prayer. Or only have one drink way before your intended aim to pray. No one can say who will go to heaven and who won 't. It 's not our call, but that of the Father.

Sarah, Read 1 Thessalonians 5 22 Abstain from ALL appearance of evil. If you had to look at drinking and say is it Godly or Evil, which would you choose? Evil, therefore, we are to abstain not only from consumption but ANY appearance of it. You shouldn 't even carry any items that would reference drinking.

What if two Christians marry without having love in the first place and knew they should never have gotten married. The consequences are shame, guilt, pain, health issues etc etc. As a couple we keep saying Not my will but yours Lord. We still have at the back of our mind ... are we kidding ourselves when one spouse does not feel anything but pity in a sense.

Other translations of this verse state "whoever errs by these is not wise ". Ephesians 5 18 states "Be ye not filled with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Holy Spirit ". To me, Ephesians 5 18 speaks volumes. If you break down the language that is being used you 'll find 1 wine and the Holy Spirit cannot exist together be ye not filled with wine, but be filled with the Holy Spirit. The usage of the conjunction "but " implies it has to be one or the other. 2 Some feel that the phrase "wherein is excess " means drunkenness or a large consumption... That a drink is ok. Personally I don 't find that to be the case. I think the verse conveys, by that statement, that any consumption leads to excess. Look at it this way if I were to take an empty glass and fill it, it has volume, however, if I take the same empty glass and place a drop of water into it, what have I done? By no means is it "full ", but it is more "filled " than it was initially. I feel this verse cautions against any intake, no matter how much or how little. May the love of the Father be ever with you.

Proverbs 20:11 is one of the very best verses to start teaching a little child with. Even a 3-year old can under stand the simple wording. There is no chastising in this verse, only observational teaching that tells a child "You show me who you are by how you behave!" It will echo in their spirits in strategic times.

Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy. ( proverbs 20:28) It is important that we focus on Mercy and Honesty; For we must forgive........And I say again "WE MUST FORGIVE!" For if we don't forgive; not only do we not get forgiven by God, but we go on through life in death: Death meaning a loss of anything productive like: Peace, Joy, Wealth, Health, Time; Just in general a loss in the abundance of everything good in your life. Cause Peace, Love, Joy, is true life, and very good, but grudges stops and destroys the consistency of true life; witch makes grudges one of the most dangerous possessions' in are life,

Proverbs 20:7 declares "The just man walketh in his integrity. his children are blessed after him." Unexpected suffering, such as famine, pestilence and persecution, does not negate the promises of God nor does it reduce His ability to keep those people whom He has promised to keep. It is possible that God's promised blessings can intertwine with local or global suffering. When all things work together for the good of God's good children, it does not say that it will look good, always feel good, or be pleasing to our senses at all. God wills it for good; it is up to us to trust in those dark hours when it might appear that all is being lost. He will not leave his children comfortless or disconsolate. It is up to the children to keep steadfast faith when things seem to be against them instead of for them. God cannot lie. It is for us to walk by faith not by sight. We know that we win during and after the crippling, searing tests have all be completed. "In the shadow of his wings there is rest, sweet rest."
  • John on Jeremiah 10:23 - 11 years ago
I think that Jeremiah 10:23 is an important verse that reveals the truth that the freewill of man is not a bible based teaching. This verse, along with many others proves that God's sovereign will alone is free and that man's will is subservient to His will. We are responsible to God not because we are free, but because God has decreed to hold us responsible for the actions which He has so decreed that we would perform from all eternity. Proverbs 20:24: Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way? (KJV). Proverbs 16:1, The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD (KJV). Psalms 37:23, The steps of a man are established by the LORD; and He delights in his way (NAS). Proverbs 16:9 9, The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps (NAS) Isaiah 46:10, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure (KJV). Dan 4:35, "And all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, but He does according to His will in the host of heaven and (among) the inhabitants of earth; and no one can ward off His hand or say to Him, 'What hast Thou done?' (NAS). Rom 9:19 19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? (KJV). Genesis 45:7-8, (7) And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. (8) So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt (KJV). Acts 4:27-28 (27) For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, (28) For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done (KJV).

My view of Proverbs 20 is that; Righteousness belongs to Kings; and as Kings and Queens, we must remember that God is the source of all fruitful Spiritual abilities that we posses. So we must always check ourselves daily for any kind of pride or self value; that we may be more aware that all we have is only God's glory, that we are supposed to give back to him with interest; So that we don't fall into vengeance and wrath, and evil speaking of one another and all uncleanness that could keep us from passing down righteousness and to walk as children, and hold us back from being in line with God's word. Because all of the instructions that are in Proverbs 20, it is impossible for us to follow faithfully if we don't first HUMBLE ourselves, seek God's presence every day, and trust and rely on him to cause us to keep us from being unfaithful, and stop us from being deceitful, and free us from being lazy, and keep our minds open, to take advantage of every moment that becomes available for us to give him his glory. For we only live to glorify God almighty, that we may heed to every instruction in his word, and live error free. And all those who Love God, strongly desire to live error free: and believe they can through Gods assistances; because without faith it is impossible to please God, and without humility we cannot be with him, now and forevermore. God bless you saints.

No matter what people say or do to you we have to pray and give it to God because his word says that he shall repay them, no weapon formed against us shall prosper as long as we believe Gods word and promises. Well have a good day. Be honest with yourself. God bless you all.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Proverbs 20 - 12 years ago
Proverbs 20:7 A just man walks in his integrity, and his children are blessed after him. God measures blessing different than the way men measure blessing. Jesus said a man's life does not consist of the abundance of the things that he has. When we teach our children to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, which is the first commandment. The second is to love our neighbor as ourselves, our children will be blessed. These books of the law shall thou meditate on day, and night then you will have good success. We have been blessed with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places. So we must pass our godly heritage to our children, and the Lord will bless their posterity.
