Wes gave a wise answer on Christmas. Exodus 23:8, Deuteronomy 16:19, Ecclesiastes 7:7, may The HOLY Spirit teach us. John 14:26

I love to celebrate Christmas, I really enjoy the lights, the focus on our Savior. The generosity in the season. Christmas is a time of year, people remember more their fellow man, needs & wants of others. Christmas time reminds us of the joys of giving & putting smiles on others faces, teaching by love & kindnesses. Surprising a person with anonymous unexpected gifts, giving hope to people in desperation, food, clothing, volunteering, etc. warms their hearts, body & soul & sometimes gives them hope for a better ' tomorrow '. Christmas is the time of year people are more willing to receive from a Christian.....

We as Believers have an open door at Christmas unlike any other time of the year, to show the World who Jesus is, who the Church is.

When we remember those most "forgotten by others" showing them, they are not forgotten by GOD, it's amazing how even those around them are affected.

    Deuteronomy 15:7, Job 5:16, Proverbs 19:4, Psalms 69:33, Proverbs 14:21, 2Corinthians 9:9, Psalms 68:10, Galatians 2:10, Romans 15:26, Psalms 40:17, Proverbs 22:2, Psalms 41:1, Luke 14:13, Psalms 74:21, Proverbs 29:7, Proverbs 28:27, Psalms 112:9, Psalms 82:3, Daniel 4:27, Proverbs 21:13, Proverbs 31:10,20, context Proverbs 31, Proverbs 19:17, Proverbs 19:7, Luke 4:18, Matthew 11:5, Mark 10:21,

    Proverbs 19:6, Esther 9:22, James 1:27,

This Christmas season we really have a moment to help comfort, our nations with love, giving hope through the WORD, to poor in spirit & helping heal wounds. There is much we can give this year, for those in need. I pray GOD lead us even now, to start the giving season early. Romans 6:23, 2Corinthians 1:4, Proverbs 15:23,

    Psalms 31:24, Ecclesiastes 3:1,

    Luke 12:48, it's about discipline,

The people Jesus was speaking to, understood that for of discipline/punishment because it was very publicity done in their society, see Deuteronomy 25:1-3, 2Corinthians 11:23,24, Acts 16:23, Proverbs 19:29,

    Isaiah 53, Isaiah 53:5,

Context Luke 12, it starts off Luke 12:1 "In the meantime._.._." therefore you have to go back a page or more to get fuller context. Luke 11, starts Luke 11:1 "And it came to pass._._" also a continuation but atleast you can see a good contextual beginning in Luke 11:1 they were asking Jesus to teach them to pray. Jesus started to teach them Luke 11:2-52, also bringing the Church Leadership into correction, while teaching all around, including those leaders. Luke 11:53-54, those leaders were waiting for a time to trip him up. Luke 12, begins as that moments continuation, so Jesus in the crowds chaos continued teaching Luke 12:1 "._._.. Beware ye of the ._._.hypocrisy ", (please read in context) Jesus then encourages us & all around Him, the Love GOD has for us & HIS promises of provision of all needs, even during wrongful persecution & death. Luke 12:3-40, with continued warning of hypocrisy, Luke 12:41-59, notice Luke 12:45, mistreatment of others, disregard of responsibility as Stewardship, leadership, ect.

Looks like Jesus is talking about being responsible for those people & things put into the care, trust of HIS "servants" knowingly or unknowingly sinning against, if you're a leader, trusted with anyone & especially the Church.

Ruth, you picked up a spirit of fear. He has friends named torments. Copy paste the scriptures in your Notes App on your phone or PC. Pray them out loud as often as you need to.

    1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment (an evil spirit) He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

    2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, love and of a sound mind.

    1 Samuel 12:24

Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he has done for you.

    Proverbs 19:23

The fear of the LORD leads to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.**

Romans 8:15 - For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Hebrews 13:6 - So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

You as a Christian have the authority in Jesus Name to make these things leave you forever. So say this as often as needed:

In the Name of Jesus of Nazareth, I bind up the spirits of fear and torments and loose their bands of oppression in my life. I bind your evil works in my life. In Jesus Name and the Power of His Authority, I command you to go into outer darkness and dry places. GO NOW in Jesus Name.

I release healing, joy in my salvation, and soundness and peace over my mind__in the Name of Jesus I receive it in my born again spirit.

I am free! Hallelujah to my Lord and Savior.

    A teaching by Jesus. Matthew 12: 43-44

We are to keep our house garnished with the Bible. They can't ever come back__as we are faithful to read New Testament and fill our soul and spirit with Gods Word. Our reading and prayer time takes precedence over less worthy activities.

May God bless you and carry you to happier times in your life and fellowship on here if you have time.

    Love to you,

  • Child Rearing - In Reply on Psalms 131 - 3 years ago
    Proverbs 29:15

The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.

    Proverbs 19:18

Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare him for his crying.

    Proverbs 22:15

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

    Proverbs 14:3

In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

    Proverbs 13:24

He that spares his rod hates his son: but he that loves him chastens him betimes.

Hebrews 13:17 - Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Colossians 3:20 - Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

Deuteronomy 11:19 - And ye shall teach them, your children, speaking of them when thou sit in thine house, and when thou walk by the way, when thou lie down, and when thou rise up.

Comment: When I spanked my son, we had 15 min time outs to let go of anger and fear. I told him exactly why he was being punished.

Later when he began lying I made him a "deal". If he would tell the truth no matter how bad it was: I would forgive him. He learned honesty after that. Later, pride in his responsibility for his own failures.

Book of Proverbs has lots of insight into child rearing. If the scripture says 'beat', it does not mean mark up the child's skin. Teach personal responsibility. Reward when they do things right; a hug, a popsicle and a smile.

It's nice to follow you brothers, in a way it's right everything u al write and refer to. I will try and come up with an input that is about daily life with Jesus Christ.

First, He never sleeps. Why do we have to? Yes The body of sin Screams for sleep. And then we know, we who have read a bit, that we have some good words that explain us about sleep in Proverbs 19:15 and Proverbs 20:13

I have to get a little personal here now. For my uncle, it can be said lukewarm. Think it's okay with Christmas and elves. Hymns and songs. But do not give up the self to anyone other than oneself. This is a stage where a person can become proud and stubborn. So how can I see that he can surrender to Jesus. Because we have some words that make it not "my business" to see who gets fair or not. I leave it to the Holy Spirit.

    1 Timothy 1:9

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, Here we clearly see who the law is for.

    2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

So what does that mean to be fair and righteous? Firstly, James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

    Romans 6:1-4

Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

    Proverbs 4:18

    Romans 6:1

We have so many benefits we who are born after Christ! There is nothing to wonder about. He who believes is saved and righteous. He did this once for all. 1 Corint 15:22

Dear Richard D. Fairhurst - in Reply on Genesis 1. I was touched by your post and think the same. So let us once and for all no longer rely on wealth and prosperity. Let us seek Him who can give us everything we desire. Evan in the life after this.

I read a few words in Proverbs the other day that made me realize that we must give more of our prosperity because we have promises. Example in Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. And

    Proverbs 19:23

And those who have been before us they remind us in Acts, of what we can do. Belive always Jesus Christ.

Stay blessed friend s in Jesus Christ Holy Name. Love u all in Christ.

  • How to Fear the Lord - In Reply - 3 years ago
    Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

    Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

    Proverbs 8:13

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

    Proverbs 19:23

The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

    Job 28:28

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

    Luke 1:50

And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

    Phillipians 2:12-13

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to Will and to Do of his good pleasure.

    Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them (enemies) : for the Lord thy God, he it is that goes with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Comment: it means to honor and respect; to trust and follow God.

Earl, it's your CHOICE to not believe in hell. Fine. But don't teach that to people who DO believe there is a hell. This has been going on for MONTHS. I'm not accusing__ but this is beginning to feel like an ATTENTION getting device, on your behalf. No offense intended.

Go back in the history pages of both of these Comment Rooms and look at how much TIME, FURIOUS scripture listing, and back and forth, FOR AND AGAINST HELL conversation occurs.

Jesus went to hell and emptied the Old Testament Saints after taking The Keys from SATAN and took them to Paradise. If Jesus went to hell, then there is a hell.

I promise you that Jesus__DID NOT rescue Nimrod, Cain, Jezebel, Herod, Herodius and all the other wicked unrepentant actors that are DEAD IN A BAD PLACE.

Some days I don't even want to come in here because ARGUING IS NOT LIKE CHRIST.

    TITUS 3:

3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

10 A man that is an HERETIC after the first and second admonition REJECT

11 Knowing that, he that is such, is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Comment: The King James Bible has the word 'Hell' written in it. This is a King James Bible forum. Most of us believe the entire Bible is profitable for salvation, learning and sharing.

My brother gambles with a friend for points only. They have fun. I like Yahtzee; it's just a game right? I like Fish Pond with my grandson too :D

I look in Proverbs for wisdom.

    PROVERBS 19:4

Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

    PROVERBS 28:26

He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

    JEREMIAH 17:11

As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

    Proverbs 6:15

Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

    Proverbs 8:10

Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

    Proverbs 10:4

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

    Proverbs 11:29

He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

    Hello Daniel,

Is this my brother in Sverige?

Either way.Of coarse there are slight changes here and there, in the Scriptures, as it is interpreted. As you know it is still the living Word of God. I myself was lead to Jesus Christ from some new "translation" of the Holy Bible. It still lead me to the Lord who is the way the, the truth, and the life.

I think judging can be perceived two ways. One is to judge someone and think "that's it, no hope for him" and curse them. The other is to judge what is right from wrong, truth from lies, and try to help others by telling them their faults. Now of coarse don't be a hypocrite and tell someone not to do something you also do. Of coarse the one Judge over all is Jesus Christ and we are all to be judged, by what we have done, in the end. Though we who follow Jesus Christ are the body of Christ. As He uses us as He pleases to do His Will.

About this life. A simple view is that this life is God's field and it is a place for testing of hearts and souls. Given in many parables by the Lord. The entire reason why God made us to live here, and whatnot, only God can answer. As it is probably not to be known while we are here. It is God's Will that shall be done not ours.

Here are some verses for you, about "judging" others. Not condemning others. To help them if able, not to curse them. Are we not to know, or judge, even a false prophet by their fruits? A tree is known by it's fruit.

Humble yourself before Him and ask His forgiveness and repent, which means to go and never ever repeat these sins. This doesn't mean you will walk without sinning for we have all sinned and come short of the Lord. It means to refrain from committing deliberate sins such as you have listed and to ask God to forgive us when we accidentally do something wrong or fail.

If youre interested in what proverbs has to offer in terms of anger management, I am curating a list of the pertinent ones, this is a work in progress so there may be many more, I hope in Jesus name this helps:

Proverbs 14:17 He that issoon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

Proverbs 14:29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Proverbs 15:2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Proverbs 15:18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

Proverbs 16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

Proverbs 18:19 A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Proverbs 19:11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

Proverbs 19:2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. We need to know God's word. God told Adam do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil because Adam didn't need this knowledge. God wants us to exercise our free will to do his will like Jesus Christ did. What we need is to obey God.
